  2. Here's a list of game titles requested by gamers to be fixed/hacked to work on the AFP - hopefully some (or all) will be worked on, in the near future: Donkey Kong VCS Defender 2 - Is there a way the smart bomb button from controller 2 be changed to a difficulty switch so it can work? Frantic Galaxian - This is full of glitches. Rally X - Maybe an earlier version can be hacked? Scramble Space Rocks Stay Frosty 1 / Stay Frosty 2 Spy Hunter Star Raiders (any/all Starpath Supercharger games) Berzerk - invisible wall removed to play Squish'em Raiders of the Lost Ark Merlin's Walls Cosmic Ark Pitfall II Adventures of Tron - title screen messed up Halo 2600 - fully playable Zippy The Porcupine - full game does not run xxxx = (done) hacked to work on the AFP xxxx = DPC+ games will not work on AFP
  3. For closer expo's/conventions to you, check out my website: www.videogamestores.net I haven't fully updated all of them for 2017, but you can see where they are located.
  4. Wizard of Wor still works - with the two player option. As the original required player 1 to use the right joystick, and the D-pad and buttons are for the left side joystick/fire button, it can still be played on the AFP. Just choose the two player game and control the blue player on the left side. BTW - the Wizard of Wor 2: The Arena (homebrew) works too on the AFP - just a couple of distracting lines appear on the screen during gameplay.
  5. in case the others missed it...... there's work being done to fix some of the games that do not work on the Portable, so that they can be played or even made better for the AFP! Here's where we are at right now: Crash Course (hb) removed title screen <bankswitch conversions> bankswitch conversion of several games RealSports Tennis background colors edited Juno First (hb) ROM modified Star Raiders hacked original ROM for AFP use - No Keypad Kool Aid Man hacked in 2002 - this works on the AFP Tapper fixed the screen cutoff at bottom Budweiser Tapper (hack) fixed the screen cutoff at bottom Acid Drop (hb) fixed loading issues - but still cutoff at bottom Beat'em and Eat'em <partly fixed> loads but no control Custer's Revenge fixed loading issues Enduro raised the screen to see number of cars & days Jawbreaker fixed loading issues Lochjaw fixed loading issues Marauder fixed loading issues Shark Attack fixed loading issues Squeezebox fixed loading issues Words Attack fixed loading issues Scrollout (hb) Flashback Portable Support added Fix it Felix Sr. (hb) fixed loading issues Defender II changed "game select" S button for smart bombs Defender II The difficulty switches now work for inviso & hyperspace. 6. Not only that list MaxRD posted above, there's also the ROMs that have been hacked to work (and some that already worked - made better) on the AFP. Most of them are posted/linked on that Compatibility List. Or you can watch this thread as Nukey Shay is hacking them on a daily basis- http://atariage.com/forums/topic/259166-flashback-portable-needed-controller-hacks/page-7 Enjoy!
  7. My screen was perfect (still is). I kept my protective film on (at least I think its still on) and I know I bought a brand new unit since I bought it at BB&B personally. Mine has a minor hum while in the SD card mode. But no crackle. I rarely play any of the games with the sound up or even on at all anyway.

  9. another find I just discovered with the SD card on the AFP... Some of my ROMs that started with a number, were not showing on the SD card menu: 3dtic.bin 2600hero.bin 2600tris.bin but, if you change the file names to this, they appear in the menu: 3Dtictactoe.bin 2600Hero.bin 2600Tris.bin FYI - see my link on my profile page for the downloads of these titles above

Possibly the same screen used for the AT Games SEGA Portables. Some have had complaints about the sound not being 100% accurate. Some have received units with a scratched screen - Note: there is a protective film placed on the screen which needs to be removed. SD Card must be 8GB or smaller to work with the unit. Some SD cards under 1GB have not worked properly. The SD Card must be FAT formatted. Try using: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/eula_windows/index.html ROMs/bin's must be in a folder entitled "Game" (first letter must be capitalized) and all games inside the folder must be in .bin format. (NOT .rom, .zip, or .a26) Each title must be first letter capitalized - no other capitalized letters within the file name or the unit will not recognize the bin. (I.E. - Combat.bin) You can use periods, commas, etc. within the file titles too. If you're on a mac and having trouble with ._ files messing up your SD card layout, another way to fix it is to use this program: http://pixelchimp.net/blog/pixel-chimp/clean-invisible-mac-files Paddle games do not work accurately with the D-pad, such as Kaboom!, Warlords, Breakout, etc. Two player games can't be played since there are no "Player 2" controls, such as Combat, Outlaw, etc. The SD card menu tops out at 103 pages x 10 titles per page = 1030 possible games to add. To sort them on the SD card try using: http://www.anerty.net/software/file/DriveSort/?lang=en No Supercharger games work on the unit. Contains some built-in homebrews games from Good Deal Games. No known protective cases for the unit. (Yet?) Buttons: "P" - Pause button! "L" - Left difficulty switch "T" - TV color/black & white switch - Note: Does not stay on black & white if the button is released. "S" - Select switch "R" - Right difficulty switch "A" - Fire button Homemade modifications owners have done already: One has been modified with a larger speaker on the back of the unit. (Same unit above) modified to use a Bluetooth speaker for clearer sound One has been modified with an actual Atari Joystick 9 pin port in the bottom of it Atari Flashback Portable Compatibility List for ROMs can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dN1l_iw3N4lJ69Wq2cqoLGKAxbo-gHLMohrhlSHwYNI/ (I have been testing homebrew ROMs for the AFP and adding them to this list) ROM/bin Modifications: 1st known ROM modified: Crash Course (homebrew game) - removed title screen so that the game would play 2nd known ROM modified: RealSports Tennis (court color changed so that the tennis ball can be seen better on the screen) To run a hardware test: Hold down buttons: S, R, & A, while turning on the unit. Then a menu appears to test any of the buttons on the unit. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My review.... Pros: Atari in my pocket is awesome! The price is awesome too! SD card feature is amazing, though finding an SD card less than 8GB in stores today is hard. No problems loading them onto the card. Most of the ROMs I really wanted to work, do. Ice Hockey, Chopper Command, River Raid, Frogger, Pole Position, Ms. Pac-Man, etc. and alot of the homebrews do too! Rechargeable battery > 2 AA batteries. Not sure on the battery life yet, only had to recharge it once so far. Haven't tried the A/V out, but that's a nice feature. Still need to get the cord. Pause button for any game, is a plus. Cons: LCD screen is pretty tiny..... or are we getting older (hard on the eyes). Its odd playing Atari without the classic joystick, but the D-pad shape makes it a bit too easy to inadvertently move left or right when the intended direction of movement is up or down, when you're not use to a D-pad controller. Sound can be off from original, though headphones do help. Not sure why the ROM files aren't sorted alphabetically when I pull up the SD card browser on the unit. Would be great to be able to make ROM subfolders. (Action, Sports, Arcade, etc.) Would be awesome to be able to hook up a paddle controller for paddle games.
  15. Copter Command (homebrew)....along with the others Row mentioned
  16. I added a new column to "The List" - Atari Flashback Portable Compatibility column, so as I'm testing them, they will be updated.
  17. https://club.ubisoft.com/en-US/ubi30 Assassin's Creed III free for the PC version now!
  18. Combos are still available.....we sell them at the store I work at - but they never move. We sell the one below, pretzel outside with cheese inside, but there are other flavor "combos".
  19. So is the homebrew by Darrell Spice Jr. of Bosconian entitled, Draconian for the Atari 2600. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/225044-draconian-2600/
  20. I finally figured out a way to post my "The MOST comprehensive list of Atari VCS/2600 homebrews ever compiled." publicly, while I can edit and update it without doing a manual upload and ending up with a different URL/link each time. It is available here: https://1drv.ms/x/s!ArXu52QZivTrgVbQayev1Wc1QprN It's pretty much been a daily 3+ yrs. process, and I figured I'd finish scouring the "other website" forums before releasing it. Enjoy!
  21. I entered! How do we find out if we won or not?..... what is that "See our Drawing Winners Docs."????
