  1. MK still remains silent. Will Coleco take the name back? Will the "prototype" actually be inspected? Or will it be another clever excuse, such as - "Well we decided to go another direction... Atari's 300 game library... Toys R Us wants to stock it... Yada yada yada". My prediction, MK will make one more huge blunder before this saga is through. We shall see what happens, I have not heard from MK since the last phone convo we had, who knows what is going on.
  2. Loved this system, had the original CD unit then sold that and upgraded to the Duo. Really loved the system, the music and the early CD tech.
  3. Getting the TG-16 itch, gonna blow it out this weekend and get it ON!
  4. I feel the same way, its sad because at the heart of the script its about the love of retro gaming. It's sad to see how far this got out of hand, it's been quite a lesson my kids have been learning this week about telling the truth and how one lie can turn into a nightmare. Thanks for the kind words about the Jag Bar, I try to take the high road on most things but this part of the story needed to get out, today was the day.
  5. Here we go folks... [MIKE KENNEDY LEAD-IN] Hi everyone, I’m Mike Kennedy and we are very excited to introduce you to the Coleco Chameleon. The Coleco Chameleon is a new cartridge based video gaming console that is designed to play both a variety of classic games from the 80’s and 90’s and also new retro inspired games coming from today’s homebrew, indie and mainstream developers. We have spent the last few months creating a working prototype as well as seeking out launch games that will scratch that retro itch in all of you. We hope you will consider backing our campaign and help to spread the word of our campaign to your gaming friends and family. [sTUDIO SET KIDS PLAYING GAMES WITH FADE TO GAMEPLAY VIDEO MONTAGE-Montezuma’s Revenge, Pepper II, Astrosmash, Night Stalker] Remember when video-games looked like video-games? When colorful, imaginative sprites popped off the screen and into your living room. When games were more than an impulsive download; they were highly prized, magical transports into a fantasy world all delivered inside plastic cartridges. [GAMEPLAY VIDEO MONTAGE-Iron Commando, Dorke & YMP] Remember when games were hard but you still couldn’t tear yourself away from playing? When they didn’t include lengthy tutorials or unlimited continues or saves? Remember when games came with instruction books that you actually wanted to read cover-to-cover? [TRANSITION TO LIVING ROOM SET, KIDS ON COUCH PLAYING CHAMELEON] Remember that feeling you had buying a game in the store and bringing it home and playing it for the first time with your friends and family, all in the same room? We want to bring those magical times back with the introduction of the COLECO Chameleon. The COLECO Chameleon is the first new home console in nearly 20 years that will play new games on cartridges and once again give today’s gamers something to buy, play, trade and collect for a lifetime. [TRANSITION TO COLECO MONTAGE] It also marks the return of the COLECO brand name, a brand synonymous with the history of electronic handheld games and video games. COLECO was a pioneer bringing some of the first PONG systems into the home in the 1970’s followed by the hugely successful Colecovision in the 1980’s, the first system to bring near arcade perfect graphics into over two million living rooms. And it was the company that made Nintendo a house-hold name when Donkey Kong was packed into every Colecovision retail box sold. [TRANSITION TO CHAMELEON CONSOLE MANTAGE] The COLECO Chameleon is designed to be the ultimate retro gaming system. It has the ability to accurately play a variety of your favorite classic video games, available as compilation cartridges, while also being an outlet for many all-new, classically inspired games being programmed by some of today’s best homebrew, indie and mainstream game developers. Now recognized as art form in of itself, retro gaming is once again a mainstay in today’s gaming landscape as developers are realizing classic graphics and gameplay mechanics are still entertaining even in this age of triple A, big budget cinematic titles. The COLECO Chameleon is the best way to experience this new wave of RETRO. Get ready to Play Again. [MIKE KENNEDY CALL TO ACTION] If you’re as excited as we are after viewing this, you have a chance to be one of the first gamers to have a Coleco Chameleon before it’s introduced commercially. Now, you can play the old games you loved when you were younger, help your friends and family make memories of their own, and enjoy the new games from our collection. On behalf of my team at Retro Video Game Systems, Inc. and Coleco Holdings we ask for your consideration to help us bring the COLECO Chameleon into homes around the world. This is a product that needs grass roots support to grow as it is so completely opposite of where the video-game industry is heading. Help us change the future of gaming by bringing back the RETRO. [TRANSITION TO FADE OUT OF LIVING ROOM. ADULTS 30’s NOW ON COUCH HAVING FUN PLAYING CHAMELEON] [TRANSISTION FADE TO BLACK SCREEN. POP IN COLECO CHAMELEON LOGO + REMEMBER WHEN. PLAY AGAIN. TAGLINE]
  6. So I've been sitting on this story for a while but I think its now time to tell another part of the story... The Jag Bar was once involved with the Coleco Chameleon kickstarter.

  8. Chip's Challenge and a special shout out to Dave Needle.
  9. Well I feel like I need to do another NBA Jam TE episode because I totally forgot that was also a 4 player game. I just need to track down two controllers - for a good price, and do another episode. I think the same guys should come back and have a rematch.
  10. The moment you've all been waiting for...
  11. Here is the first game I bought for my Lynx #mindblownin1989. Elctrocop on the Lynx Lounge.
  12. The Jag Bar loves the show!! Keep up the good work, and keep em coming.
  13. Tell me your fantasies… Your Pinball Fantasies.
  14. No doubt, this game is super slick. I was amazed at how good it plays today, perfect controls and super fast.
  15. Thats amazing, Top Gear of gaming!! Thanks so much, its all in good fun and I'm really enjoying putting it together. Glad to be a part of the community.
  16. Christmas came early at the Jag Bar, Gunner Wright, Mr. Issac Clarke from Dead Space fame stopped by the bar for some Super Burnout.
  17. It's that time again everybody - Lynx Lounge
  18. It is strange, I picked these up at that event Mike and I met at, and the thing is I don't even remember seeing these on the shelf back when I was buying games for the Jag in its prime. There were only two places I was able to buy Jaguar games back in the mid 90's - Babbage's and Toys R Us. Both stores took pride in the fact they stocked Jaguar games - and they priced them way higher then any other games on the shelf. I remember paying well over $70 for some titles, and Im in California… I remember the great TG-16 pinball games very well, but not Ruiner and Fantasies, I'm glad I have them now.
  19. Ruiner Pinball with Mike Kennedy
  20. California Games on Lynx Lounge!!
  21. If I were to pick this up in the wild what am I looking for? I understand there is a 1 mb and 2mb version, what one should I look for?
  22. I need to pick up a Cybermorph just to play for kicks, I never got it as a pack in so I have no idea how it plays other then what the internet tells me. The Jaguar for me was the system that was doing what the other guys weren't, it was like a total break away from the past and we were witnessing the future of what was to come in gaming. No more side scrollers, no more 2d games of the past, I really bought into the 3D power this cat could deliver. But that was the down fall, I feel like all that power and energy went into the tech and the game play took a hit. The cool thing about the Jaguar is that the hit games were unique to the Jag and no one else had anything like it.
  23. Your lynx problems sound like cap problems, you might have bad caps and I believe there is a cap kit that can get you back in action. I know ebay has a few options for the Game Gear so I would think that a lynx one is out there too.
  24. One of the thing I have to tell the guests before we start shooting is you can't compare these games with the games of today, thats just too easy. I tell them the year of the game and other games that would have been out at that time "so put yourself back in that mind set". I loved AVP, that was the reason I got the system, It looked amazing for the time, can't wait to cover that game.
  25. He's a HUGE Star Fox fan… So when I pitched him the game I told him it was like Star Fox but you weren't on rails. Obviously he was thinking the game was Star Fox and was probably let down. Personally I like Battlemorph, and I like Star Fox, two different games but I like qualities in both. I really like the way CF plays on the Lynx, I also had Super Monaco gp on Game Gear and it wasn't as fun or in depth as CF.
