TrekMD Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 Hey guys, I recently got an Atari XEGS and I want to get the AtariMax cart for it. This doesn't seem to be a flashcart but a cart to program other memory carts. Am I right? Can the carts be reprogrammed as many times as one may want to? Any advise would be welcome. Thanks! RickR Posted April 22, 2017 Report Posted April 22, 2017 I highly recommend a real flash cart or an SIO2USB cable. Forum member Paul from eightbitfix.com will sell you an AtariMax cart with 50 roms of your choice on it. That's another good option. In any case, you are going to have a blast with that system. It's awesome. MalakZero 1 Quote
TrekMD Posted April 22, 2017 Author Report Posted April 22, 2017 Thanks! I may have found a flashcart that will work better for me. It accepts an SD card which is, honestly, far more preferrable. It's called the Ultimate Atari Cart. RickR 1 Quote 🖖 Going to the final frontier, gaming...

TrekMD Posted April 22, 2017 Author Report Posted April 22, 2017 Ah, good to see you know about it. Yes, it is pricey but I think it'll be worth the money. RickR 1 Quote 🖖 Going to the final frontier, gaming...
atari8warez Posted May 28, 2017 Report Posted May 28, 2017 Thanks! I may have found a flashcart that will work better for me. It accepts an SD card which is, honestly, far more preferrable. It's called the Ultimate Atari Cart. Just remember that Ultimate Card's main strength is to store and run cartridge images, so it is like a multiple cartridges in one. I think the only other file type it supports is the XEX, so you can not load for example .ATR images with that cartridge. Having said all that it is a great cartridge if you mainly want multi cartridge support. TrekMD 1 Quote
