Joe Egan, the creative partner of Gerry Rafferty in Stealers Wheel, died at 77 on July 6.

Egan co-wrote the band’s most popular song, “Stuck in the Middle With You,” which became a Top 10 hit in both the U.S. and the U.K. in 1973 – reaching No. 6 in the Billboard Hot 100 – before a resurgence as a result of its use in 1992 movie Reservoir Dogs.

 

So happy to get these.

I haven't been here in way too long.  Unfortunately, things have not been well.

The person who introduced me to the joy of the Atari 2600, my mother, passed away on September 9th, 2021 at the age of 71.

She will be forever remembered as the reason I love Atari, but even moreso as a loving mother to me.

I love you, mom.

Woo hoo! It’s such a rare thing these days between priorities, enthusiasm, being able to focus on anything for any length of time, 😂. But between last night and today I completed, for the first time, Silent Hill 3. Lots of fun, what a weird game, and some that know me might be a little surprised because I love survival horror. I completed the original game several times over through the years, as well as the second game many years ago. I had started SH3 a few times in the past, but amazingly I would just not be motivated to complete it for various reasons, and so the last couple attempts over the years, I never even got out of the mall! Which is pretty funny considering how much content there is to the game beyond that small area. On easy? Yes. Did I still need some help with some of the puzzles? Also yes. Will I go back and play through for the experience of finding every item, unlockable or getting a better ranking? Oh hell, no. I’m just happy enough to finish a game these days, however long it takes and experience the story and see those credits role. As for the extras or the differences on different skill level, etc. I am just more than happy to see those played through by people much better than I am.

Mostly out of curiosity to see how long it remains officially supported, what exactly will happen afterwards etc. Since it's VM ultimately does not matter, but I just like to tinker, Win 11 runs natively on our main Desktops and Laptops.  😝In full screen mode, you'd be hard-pressed to know it was not running natively, so I enjoy seeing what I can continue to do with it, how I can customize it etc. 

🤓You know, I think the YouTuber TechDweb and his affinity for all things orange is starting to rub off on me. I tweaked the colours the Legion desktop so the front fans, CPU and rear fan are orange, and I’m kind of digging it.

Short project of the day -- a homemade composite cable.  I cut the wire off a TI-99/4A RF box (which was broken) and cut a composite cableset in half and BOOM -- a composite cable that will work for TI-99/4A, Atari XL/XE, or Commodore VIC-20/64. 
There was some cursing involved.  Twisting 4 ground wires together and getting a good solder on them is TOUGH man. 
A screen photo of the cord in action is the last pic.  It looks and sounds really good.
