@Marco1019 Yes! You sure do. And you're welcome to continue posting status updates like this one as well.

In the late 2000s I was very active on YouTube with other classic gamers like @MaximumRD, @LactobacillusPrime, @Atarileaf Steve Benway and others. We had a nice community going. We'd tag each other in videos and we were active every week. YouTube was different back then, we had PM boxes, it was just a different vibe. Google changed all that around 2011 when they introduced Google+ which was their social media platform designed to take on Facebook. They took away so many options that made YouTube a community, in an attempt to force us to use G+. It didn't work.

This was all going on when I was laying the groundwork for the Forums. I created our "YouTube Community" forum to take the place of what we once had on YouTube. I'd like to include you and other Twitch streamers in there as well.

The idea is you create your own "official" topic in our YouTube community with the name of your channel or show. In your case you'd create a "Retro With Marco" topic in the YouTube community. It serves as a home page or official channel page for your show, within Atari I/O. Every time you have a new episode, upcoming event, etc. it gets shared in your topic. If you remain an active Member in Atari I/O, and keep your Retro With Marco Topic updated in our YouTube forum, we will keep your topic pinned towards the top of the page to make it easily findable. You're invited to post as frequently as you'd like in your topic, and share links to your channel. Since we invite you to do this, it doesn't come across as spammy. Of course you can still share status updates with links to your show as well.

This gives you a hub in our forums to share your content and build a following among our Members here. In return, we make a strong effort to. promote your show and content on our social media, and use our site to help get the word out about your show. We want Atari I/O Members to want to help get the word out about other community members' projects.

@Sabertooth has a great topic for his Atari 2600+ Casual Play Series on YouTube. It's a great example of how this works! Usually YouTube and Vimeo creators can embed their videos simply by pasting the link. You may have to paste a link to your Twitch channel or episode. If it only appears as a link you may consider making it bold, or a 16point font size.

Let me know if you have more questions or would like help getting started!

I cannot thank you enough for this comprehensive post. Wow! Between the impetus for creating the Atari.io YouTube community and the current standards for the forum, you pretty much covered it all.

I'll need a bit of time to review your post and respond.

I'm quite familiar with  @Sabertooth's installments of his Casual Play series. I look forward to future videos once he's settled into his new digs.

Re: Embedding videos -- I used to embed my Vimeo teasers on Twin Galaxies but that feature no longer works there. It's TG's fault, not Vimeo: I simply post the Vimeo link here and the video itself appears and plays with no issues. That said, I will need to embed my Twitch streams to make it easier for non-Twitch users to view.

Now that I think about it, I can/will embed some Instagram posts as well.

For anyone wondering: I don't stream on YouTube because I'm not interested in making this a money-making venture. (I know you can make money on Twitch, but I don't believe I've made enough for a beer....during Happy Hour.) My show is very niche and focuses on parts of retrogaming that don't get much shine.
