  1. Nice pick-up @TrekMD! I hope to add the 400 Mini soon and follow that up with the 2600+.
  2. I met up with a gamer from the local retro gaming group and bought his sealed Atari Gamestation. I missed getting one last year. I don't know much about it, but for $30, I thought I give it a go.
  3. You didn't play it at PRGE? That's when I last played it.
  4. Same -- I also have that spin controller and Jason's Super multi cart (best value in the Vectrex universe?). Being a controller geek, I also picked up the VecTrack and two bigger controllers. The one with the arcade stick is a digital controller and not analog.
  5. Yup, multicarts are The Way. I started my Vectrex collection by buying Sean Kelly's multicart and his set of repro overlays. I have since added the VecMulti and PiTrex but haven't gotten around to using them. @sramirez2008 that Star Castle! I needs it 😆 I played it as much as my poor kid pocket would allow. The convenience store next to my apartment had the Star Castle coin op. I got the 2600 homebrew but there's nothing like playing with vector graphics.
  6. I never expected to add Vectrex releases from the 80s to my collection, but I did just that 🙂 Before adding these, I only had three, and everything else in my Vectrex collection were homebrews. I also picked up three cartridges by Binary Star.
  7. Got the email this morning and I replied with the request to upgrade to CIB 🥳
  8. Yesterday and today's mail call -- multiple consoles covered. The Vectrex overlays are gorgeous and the photo does not do them justice.
  9. What are some must have Lynx homebrews, Steve?
  10. I had the OG Game Boy back in the day. I was aware of the releases of the Lynx and Game Gear back then, but I decided to stay with the GB for two reasons -- physical size and the amount of batteries consumed. AA batteries weren't cheap back then and I don't recall rechargeable AA readily available as they are now and the Lynx and GG were power hungry. I was fine with not having a backlit screen and the graphics beings what they were on the GB. The near pocket-ability of the GB was what won me over -- that and Tetris and Tennis. I acquired a Lynx II with the upgraded screen a few years ago. It's staring at me right now across my desk, but unfortunately, I haven't given it the attention it deserves.
  11. If choosing between the 5200 and A8 computers, I'd prefer to see the 5200 get a "mini" release since the SuperSystem doesn't get much love, and as Justin mentioned, it should be able to support both 5200 and A8 software. As for future Atari computer minis, I want to see one for the ST line instead of another A8.
  12. Awesome news! I also bought a copy and will definitely upgrade when the email comes.
  13. I added a couple more Evercade cartridges to the collection. I was a little surprised when I saw the DataEast Collection available in Amazon. Songbird Productions has been out of stock for a long time, and I thought it was out of print. I crossed my fingers that it wasn't a listing error for the DataEast Arcade Collection, and it wasn't. It's still available here if you're missing it in your collection.
  14. Such a beautiful lady. I'm glad we will always have the classic series to remember her by as well as the other cast members.
  15. I just finished the first episode — wow! That episode was intense from the opening scene, and those Klingons are like nothing I’ve seen before. This is the kind of Star Trek that I longed for as a kid. The Star Trek universe is amazing.
  16. yes, that's a great reason 👍 I'll start that right now
  17. I took it once, and it picked Saru. I've only watched the original series, parts of STNG and the first season of SNW, so I am not familiar with Saru. Those piercing eyes... might give me more anxiety and thereby increase my need for more hugs.
  18. Ha! We went through the same phase. I bought frozen pizza when they were on sale a couple of times and have not done it again. If I want cheap pizza now, I just go to Costco.
  19. I can't think of any songs off the top of my head, but I do have a food dish -- chicken fried steak. This was my go-to breakfast for who knows how long until my eldest son was old enough to share my food. Every time we went out for breakfast, that's what he wanted, so I ended up ordering it to share it with him since he wasn't big enough to eat it on his own. After a while, I got tired of it and ordered something else for myself. We took home the leftover chicken fried steak. My eldest is now 23, and I have yet to order chicken fried steak breakfast for myself. Sorry for derailing this music thread with a food response 😂
  20. I hear ya @RickR. If I already had the original handheld, the EXP would be a hard sell for me too. As far as cartridges go, I'll probably go with the Irem arcade collection for some Moon Patrol action. I haven't played the arcade version since like forever. The last version I played was on the 5200.
  21. Late to the party! I had been going back and forth on getting one, and when I decided to buy one, the EXP was out of stock everywhere during the holiday season. Short thereafter, I got an email from Funstock that they had a limited number of EXP Limited Edition available. I jumped at the chance and ordered it from across the Pond. I did a quick research and ordered a bunch of games and then ordered some more. As far as accessories go, I had to have a glass screen protector. I could only find the official one released by Blaze, so I went with that. I read that the Sony PSP has the same screen size as the EXP, but I couldn't find any tempered glass screen protectors for the PSP. Finally, when a friend heard that I was thinking about getting an Evercade, she gave me a dust cover during Christmas. So far, I've only opened the DataEast Arcade Collection to play Burger Time. I want to explore a few more games on the cartridge before moving on to a different cartridge. I love Tate mode. PS: I didn't realize I put the EXP upside down when I took the photo 😂 Sorry about that.
  22. My latest big box game from Avalon Hills for the Atari 400/800. I think I have six or seven of them now. This one represents the time that many of us grew up in -- the 80s and the Cold War. There were frequent news headlines and stories about the possibility of nuclear war and the aftermath (anyone watch the The Day After?), and that was going to be the end of humanity. Now, it's all about global warming and climate change. Anyways, back to the game -- it's in great physical condition and came with all the inserts in addition to the manual and map.
  23. When I learned that Darryl made this 7800 port, I immediately jumped to get the cartridge. I already have the game for the Genesis. It'll be fun to see what differences or improvements Darryl made have introduced.
  24. I believe I picked up Game Panic cartridge from John Hancock at PRGE when it first released. Now that the case and manual are available, I got them along with his latest port of Sock Em and Block Em for the 7800.
