  1. Beamrider Atari 2600 Difficulty: Default Game, B/B High Score: 37,114 September 2, 2020
  2. When I did localization work, that was a bit crazy having meeting with folks in Europe and Asia. Right now, my team sits in NYC so it's not bad. I just work East Coast hours for the most part.
  3. My meeting starts in 3 minutes... bi-coastal teams. Lunch will have to wait another 30 minutes
  4. 11,530 I took a little break before my next meeting. This game isn't easy! Kamikazes! My first attempt ended at 5k and this was my second. It's going to be another fun one. Love the title screen.
  5. Sentinel was originally PAL only but apparently there was an NTSC release. That’s what I assume was covered by NSG’s video.
  6. @HDN you influenced an influencer! What does that make you? 🙂 Congratulations @nosweargamer on this video release! It's great to see everything in one video. I own 38 of the 58 games on your list. Too bad I don't own 1-38 🙂 For my curiosity, I did a breakdown of my collection based on your rankings: 1-10 own half 11-20 missing only Mean 18 21-30 own half 31-40 own half 41-50 own 7 of the 10 51-58 missing only Sentinel I'm missing most of #24-38 (only have 5 of the 15) in my collection, and I believe most of these are on the pricier side, but it'd be good to fill in a few more from this range. Most of the #1-#23 are very affordable so that's good for those starting out! Too bad I didn't have this list when I was starting out my 7800 collection. Otherwise, I could have saved some money by skipping some of the bottom feeders. As it is, I own all the games #46-58 except Sentinel 😮 Yay? 🙂
  7. You are an absolute machine! I'm just amazed by how much quality content you've made and how long you've been doing it 👏👏 I haven't gotten to your 7800 podcasts yet but looking forward to doing so.
  8. It's my "Asteroids" controller -- I've always wanted an all-button controller in the Asteroids layout. It works very well for other games, too -- Activision Decathlon in particular. Only problem is that the width of the controller is a little too narrow. Either I need to shrink (I'm 6'1") or the buttons needs to be a little more spread out laterally (which they can't because of the case size) because my hands cramp a little. I love games that support multiple controllers, and I'd buy a custom controller out of curiosity alone if the price is right (e.g., the CX30 Evolved paddle). I'd be interested in a modern trackball for sure (I have the Wico and Atari DB9 trackballs). How many do you have to sell to make it worthwhile for you? Maybe put out a poll to gauge interest in a pre-order once you have a prototype?
  9. Definitely fun playing Pole Position II and participating in the squad challenge! I hadn't spent much time on the 7800 and this was a great opportunity. Thanks for organizing!
  10. Karateka was one of my favorites on the Atari 8-bit. Besides learning that the 7800 was the choice of experts, from the ad, I verified that my pronunciation of Karateka is correct. I always wondered whether you're supposed to stress the third syllable and pronounce it as EEE (the long e vowel sound) -- karatEEka 😆
  11. Hahaha I was actually playing COVID-19 Corona Virus Invaders today! I'll need to take a look at the one that TrekMD shared. I just posted this on Facebook: What's everyone up to Monday night? I recently bought ⌜COVID-19 Corona Virus Invaders⌟ and popped it in for the first time. Is there a more appropriate game to play in 2020 than this?!? I actually bought it for the novelty, but this is a very fun and well done game ("aliens" flip back and forth from CORONA to VIRUS*. If you're a Space Invaders fan, you'll definitely like this. I found it a little therapeutic. Until we get the vaccine, take that and that!
  12. Wow, 20th anniversary ‼️ Congratulations @Justin and the mods and everyone involved in running the I/O. Nothing lasts 20 years in life without a lot of sweat and tears along the way. I'm glad to have found the I/O 18 days ago -- better late than never, right? Your post is very exciting. I'm looking forward to September and to the virtual classic gaming expo experience!
  13. I like custom controllers and am willing to buy them if they offer better quality and experience. Custom controllers are a niche market in general and you are talking about niche controllers in a niche market 🙂 so the demand will be interesting. I've purchased five DB9 controllers (see photo) from retrogameboyz on ebay over the past six months. The red one is my daily controller. These are 7800 controllers that also work with the 2600. They are 3D printed (except the joystick and buttons). From what I can tell, he has sold a lot of controllers. He also makes NES style gamepads but I happen to prefer arcade style joysticks. The gamepads are very affordable, and I think the price combined with the product design are what entices people to try them. It was certainly the price that lured me in to give it a try (and his satisfaction money back guarantee) and I ended up ordering five from him. Retrogameboyz's business model is very different from Eladdin. As I shopped for custom controllers, the Eladdin business model is what I found to be more common place -- very high end custom controllers with a price to match. I have no doubt that Eladdin controllers are worth the price but the price of entry does make you pause, and during that pause, I found retrogameboyz (affordable sub-$100 custom controllers that appeared to offer very good fit-n-finish). After having tried products from retrogameboyz, I am now more willing to take a dip in the high end controller market. When Eladdin releases their 5200 controller, I will be ordering one. Later this year or early next, I hope to order a DB9 controller from Edladdin as well. For now, I get my 5200 controller fix through an adapter that lets me use Genesis controllers with the 5200. I recently bought two used Genesis arcade stick controllers ($30 each).
  14. I had the black flight stick style back in the day -- suffice to say, I quickly went back to my Wico Redball. 🥁😀
  15. Congratulations! Glad it finally came. Welcome to the 7800 club.
  16. Rick, have you read the graphic novel Andre the Giant: Life and Legend? It's been a while since I read it -- must read for any Andre fan, I think. Piper was the best.
  17. Tommy "Wildfire" Rich I loved wrestling in the 80s when it was less about beefcake physique and more about personality and charisma.
  18. I was in the bowels of "I suck 😆" despair, but have been reborn to feats of "impressive" achievement❗ I feel GOOD! Thanks, @RickR 👍
  19. 53,130 I feel good with this score. My high score on the original arcade Pole Position is around mid-50k. 🏁🏁 Almost forgot... Hey BTB, enter me to win! @btbfilms76
  20. vs I’d go with the alien who’s got clothes on
  21. Do tell @Justin! I assume there’s a happy ending since you’re still here and the I/O is still up and running 🙂
  22. It's not my favorite Indy movie, but it's deserves a watch. If you suffered through Crystal Skull, then you certainly deserve to watch Indy's second adventure 🙂
  23. It is big, and there's a bunch of shopping areas that extend the mall all around. There used to be a theater there, and that's where I watched Temple of Doom.
