I'll put this on our list for after Wednesday, which is good. Very Tim Burton. Dark and quirky.

Epic gave away I assume the first three Fallout games ever made in one sitting. Just like Doom I'm looking forward to playing the original Fallouts.

OMG, I've been playing OG Doom and Doom 2 on my newly constructed retro-gaming laptop. Also Quake and Quake 2. I've still got a whole stack of other CD-ROM games to play.

For sure -- it's been tough. The only M's gear I have a cap that I bought during the 90s. I will finally pull the trigger on a jersey and a new cap.

I actually have a 2001 AL Playoff shirt for the Mariners that I stopped wearing many years ago when this horrid playoff-drought became apparent. Once they clinched, I wore it once again.
There were a few years where the team was really good. I think it was that 2001 team that set the AL wins record with 116. So many great players came through. Griffey Jr, A-Rod, Randy Johnson, Ichiro, Buhner, Edgar, Felix, etc, etc.
But man, these last 20 years have been brutal.

socrates63 got a reaction from RickR in Last Saturday, I went to PAX West with my son. I wasn't planning to go this year, but
Me, too. I swear we are brothers from a different mother 😂 I went from the 2600 straight to computer gaming during the 80s and beyond (800 --> ST --> PC). I skipped all the Nintendo and Sega consoles, dabbled a little with the first PlayStation during the late 90s and finally switched to mostly console gaming with the Xbox 360.
The 80s and 90s computer gaming was such a special time--new tech, new experiences. I am extremely appreciative that my childhood coincided with those times.

Wow! That's an all-star lineup for sure.
I'm one of those folks that was 100% into PC gaming in the late 80's and 90's. I've played every King's Quest, every Space Quest, etc. In a forum like this, I often feel like that's a lost era of gaming. While everyone else was doing SNES and Genesis, etc, there I was in the PC world.
Anyway, that's a great picture and I'm glad you shared it.

socrates63 reacted to RickR in It finally feels like summer in Seattle -- sunny and mid 70s yesterday and 80 today.
Note: Use a stand mixer if you have one. It makes this super easy. Cooking these outside on the grill gives them that smoky flavor that makes them better IMO.
Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
1 egg
3/4 cup Panko bread crumbs
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon All Purpose Seasoning (or favorite seasoning salt)
4 brioche buns
Instructions
Preheat the grill to 400°F and clean grill.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the turkey, cheese, egg, Panko crumbs, Worcestershire sauce and All Purpose Seasoning. Using your hands, mix everything together until they are well combined. If a little dry add a little water until the right consistency or if too wet, add more Panko accordingly.
Form the mix into 4 equal size patties to fit the size of your buns.
Cook the burgers for 4 to 5 minutes on each side depending on thickness.

I've got a killer turkey burger recipe if you need it. Lean poultry makes the doc happy.

Burgers were definitely good. I just came back from my doctor visit though, and it looks like it'll be a long while before burgers are back on the menu 😂

There is something spiritual about the rivers and greenery that come from the rain.

It's in the 90's in Portland this weekend. Hot! But we're still getting our walks in and enjoying this over the rain.
Those burgers look good!

It's good to hear from you @socrates63!
First, my sincere condolences on your father's passing.
Second, life and work will understandably take folks away from gaming and other distractions but we'll be here when you're ready!
Take care!

My wife, eldest son, and I got tested earlier this week, and all the tests back negative. My younger son is now out of house isolation as well. It was just a nuisance more than anything else. I'm thankful that it was nothing more than that.
Two of my wife's sisters are in town and will be staying with us all next week. That should be fun.
Happy New Year!
