  3. I found out later (and added it to the review) that this game morphed into something called Outpost 26 and was supposed to be released for the XM. It appeared to have more graphic scenes and slightly better graphics and of course, Pokey music. Its ROM was never released, to my knowledge.
  4. It's very odd, I keep getting messages from people wanting my thoughts on his games, and someone sent me a game called Monster! I never heard of. So...... let's give that one a whirl.

  8. In a year that features around 15 amazing 7800 Homebrews hitting the scene, leave it to Atari 7800 Forever to review a tandem of 12 year old games of ill repute. I was excited to see a review of Wizard's Dungeon on the site. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the 7800 and NES era of games mostly due to the color palette used in many games of that era--very earthy and muted. However, I really want to try homebrews for the 7800. I'm glad I read the review. It was easy reading and provided the necessary information for me to make a decision. I will pick it up at PRGE.

  14. We are gonna be releasing Silverback's review of Wizard's Dungeon very soon... but to tide you over:

We look into several prototypes and hacks: Rampart, Star Wars, GATO, Pit Fighter

and there's a much sunnier update to the site's "Atari 7800 Biography". No more doom and gloom. It's the 7800's time to shine!

    Thanks for the love! www.Atari7800Forever.com

  16. WOO HOO! It took us almost two years to do it, but we finally have in-depth written reviews posted for all 58 7800 official releases on the site. Some of you may or may now know, but we did the same thing back in the double aughts on a site called "Cousin Vinnie's Atari 7800 Panoramic Froo-Froo". Back in the early 2000's, I wanted to make an Atari site that was less tech oriented, but more fun and approachable for potential new fans to the system. I lost that domain, and it was a shame that I let it go. But its OK now I guess because the new site is better written, has over 100 reviews total, features more articles and is more functional. It also includes all of the old applicable articles from the old site, too. Thanks to Crossbow and Silverback for helping speed up the review process with their great reviews. Because of them, I didn't have to play some real duds, LOL. The last game review published tonight was Tomcat... and what is hilarious is that Tomcat was the last game I reviewed of the official releases on the old site. I had no idea it was until I checked the Wayback Machine. I hate those flight sims. Now we will focus on improving formatting, correcting typos, reviewing homebrews, hacks, oddities, and creating new interesting articles, cheat code pages, and eventually converting these reviews to Youtube videos. Thanks to anyone that enjoys the site! Latest reviews: Crossbow reviews Rampage Crossbow reviews F-18 Hornet Silverback reviews Meltdown Silverback reviews Sentinel Funkmaster V reviews Tomcat Vinnie www.atari7800forever.com

  21. After looking at the press kit docs on steam (thanks Roots. Genoa), it looks like we can now make out about 55 of the games on that Atari 50th Anniversary Collection. (I added nine to the previous list). A few duds but a couple of nice additions. Arcade Missile Command Millipede Atari 2600 Asteroids Millipede Miner 2049er Realsports Boxing, Tennis, Soccer, Football Solaris Atari 7800 Ninja Golf For the whole list, click here: www.atari7800forever.com/atari50.html
  22. Atari 50th Anniversary Collection Game List I spent some time going through that pretty pimp hype video pinpointing all of the games that will be included in this collection so far, and it looks like you can ID 40-41... there's a computer game I can't identify in one clip. This isn't your typical nostalgic Atari cash grab... looks worth it so far. Besides Basketbrawl, the 7800 selection looks pretty boring. I'm also surprised that no one ever contacts our hobby programmers for your awesome Homebrews. Those would be so sweet to include in these things. https://www.atari7800forever.com/atari50.html PS: Im uploading three new reviews this week: Silverback tackles Sentinel, Meltdown, and Wizard's Dungeon

  25. Are ya nuts? We just talked about a couple you didn't even mention on the list. Here's all the ones on cart: http://www.atari7800forever.com/badd.html I think we should make an article for the Atari 7800 Forever page about it. We update it with the score, date and screen shot of each game you beat and see which one you can't. Whaddya say?
