  5. People have asked me to review Moon Cresta at www.Atari7800Forever.com for years, and tonight was the night history finally happened. After playing the arcade version of Moon Cresta for a bit... it was time, once again, to give the Prosystem one a whirl. I have always hated this game. But over time... did my initial disgust recede? Click the lank to find out, Jeeves. http://www.atari7800forever.com/mooncrestar.html

  7. Surprise! You dirty hookers! Jon Stoll, Jr. (AKA Silverback) is helping me catch up on reviewing and creating content in the midst of an Atari 7800 scene that has amazingly gotten more and more frantic in the last few years. When we catch up on all of the original release reviews, we can delve into the more fun and unpredictable waters. Here's what has been recently added to www.atari7800forever.com Silverback reviews Mario Brothers, Ms. Pac Man, Kung Fu Master, Pole Position 2. Silverback interviews Frankodragon (Roof Pooper, Fat Axl, Hearty Manslapper). Funkmaster V interviews Muddyfunster (EXO, Danger Zone, Bernie) #MarioBros #kungfu #MsPacMan #EXO #FatAxl #poleposition2 #wjhcam #campsmokey #thehike2021

  9. I've been horsing around and mostly enjoying Micro Center's Atari Ultimate Dual Fight Stick with Trac Ball for a year and a half, and have had an Atari Spinner installed for a year (it was very easy to do). After all that time, I have discovered (for myself at least) which 10 games utilize the machine the best with the emulators I currently have. This is my top ten list- They are not the best games of all time, but the best on this particular hardware... that I have discovered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UwkSg8Rkqc

  11. The mystery gang of funk will chat about the developments of the movie Camp Smokey, how the naked Polaroids from the Hike are still causing trouble, along with all of the other BnF projects going on. Tonight's guest will be England's Muddyfunster... a likeable fellow that has made a smattering of incredible Atari 7800 games for the masses. #campsmokey #wjhcam #atari7800 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVq-x4pRyWs
  12. Over the last few decades, only a small number of unreleased prototypes were discovered for the Atari 7800. Some are masterpieces, some are not playable at all. At Atari7800Forever.com, we rank the top 10 that have been found. #atari7800 http://www.atari7800forever.com/top10up.html

  14. Atari at this point was losing it- there was a big difference between 1984 and 1986 as far as video games were concerned. It was a very bad move to be two years behind at the point. The 7800 business model made sense in 84... Pole Position for the Atari VCS was a popular game, the 7800 PP2 was gonna have 4 tracks and good graphics... Asteroids and Centipede had great 2 player updates. There was Food Fight, Robotron and Ms Pac Man as opposed to that crap Pac Man game. It just needed 3-5 original 7800 only games to move the system. People always compare PP2 to Super Mario Brothers... and thats just not fair to PP2. But.... thats what consumers did and the rest is history. I think the early system killer was Karateka
  15. Hobby Programmer Brek Brixius (SiO2) has a new Etsy store, and apparently I was his first customer! Brek showered me with funktastic gifts that I will reveal in the video and we will take a look at this awesome looking cart and Brek's take on the old Atari 2600 game Fast Food! #atari #atari7800

  17. EXO This is a game that if it was released near the launch of the system, it would have turned some heads. I feel like the 7800 needed a super butch game to compete with Metroid and Castlevania, and this would have sold a few systems.
  18. Ever since I heard that Popeye was almost the "Jumpman" in what turned out to be Donkey Kong, I always had a little hot thought... What if...

Yup. I also love that graphic that I found that put the Popeye people on the cab instead of the Nintendo characters in the DK poses. Bluto looks like DK quite a bit, too.

  20. For those who are into emulation of retro games, Trebor (from Trebor's Stuff) just updated his Atari 7800 ROM Pack for the first time in about a year. There are dozens and dozens of games, gimmicks and updates to check out. Links to java based emulators, my thoughts on a few of the updates, and the link to the ROM Pack itself is located here: http://www.atari7800forever.com/treborsrompack2022.html

  22. I just wanted to state that even though my review on Atari 7800 Forever seems a little harsh, it's really just making fun of the main character's dumb looking sprite. It scored a 3.5/5.0, which is a good score. I played the arcade version of Venture for this review as much as I could stomach and it sucks in comparison to this 7800 version. If you like Venture... this is the best version ever made.
  23. In recent years, I've seen that there has been some confusion and real life tears in regards to Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest. It all stems from Bobby D astutely inventing a "C Button" for the Pro System. Here's how to fix the confusion with the game in the modern age where people use emulation more than consoles.

  25. Toki is one of the missing prototypes in the Atari 7800 library... but it's not really missing. Here's where it is, and why you can't play it.
