Hey guys! The Atari 7800 Forever Podcast is going on a regular schedule! You can watch the announcement video or just read it here! Same news regardless. We are now airing the first and third Fridays at 7pm EST of every month! That means the next one is Friday September 22nd at 7pm Eastern Standard Time! So I accidentally released Monday's video early. And it's definitely because I love you guys and not because I'm bad with dates and stuff. Anyway this week's review has us looking at Video61's Animal Keeper. Is it worth picking up? Should you avoid it? All this and more in today's review! Also, regardless of the score I give a game, I am a huge fan of the homebrew community and would never do anything to purposely bash their hard work (not that I did in this video) but I want my reviews to be unbiased and accurate. Whether it's one of the original library or a homebrew. Anyway here's the video: Also I'm releasing all the cheats I know for the Atari 7800 in the way of YouTube shorts! The newest video is done and in it I rank every retail release for the 7800. A lot of work went into this one so please check it out if your the slightest bit interested! Next week we'll either have a Galaxian or Animal Keeper review on Monday, and then Thursday we have "First Atari Flashback is the 7800 Mini?!" You might be able to guess what I'm covering in that one! Then this weekend I have an announcement about the podcast and what we're doing moving forward. I'm hoping the podcast becomes something you all like because I love interacting with you guys. In the next few weeks expect some new VCS content. Once I get comfortable in video reviews I plan on reviewing stuff available on there as well. I also seem to of gotten a good reaction talking about 5200 and Jaguar stuff eventually but that's far off in the distance. Ok guys enjoy the new video and have a good weekend!

Great now I have to get one of those! Lol I wasn't aware of that though I'll have to look into it! Thanks for the heads up I want the controller video to be as exhaustive as possible. Probably not good for views but good for fans who want to know what's out there lol That one might be a ways away though...

Tonight the first ever 7800 Pro Gamer Review goes up on the channel on Knight Guy in Low Res World Castle Days. It'll be available at 3:00pm EST and I'll edit this post when it's available! I've already started reviews for Galaxian, Scrapyard Dog, Animal Keeper and Water Ski as well. They'll be the Monday series for at least the next month! Tuesday morning I have the archive video of our Tailchao (Rikki & Vikki) interview going up for those who missed it. It's been out for a while but Vinnie and I agree having it on my channel isn't a bad idea. Rewatch it if you already did, it's that good lol I'd like some input on the future of Man vs 7800 if anybody cares to provide it! I'm thinking of making Man Vs 7800 an edited show, and only have highlights of the gameplay (such as interesting or tough areas, notable things, examples of talking points, the ending, etc). It was never meant to be a walkthrough but a way to share information on these games and show that they are indeed possible to beat. This would probably keep them at 5-15 minutes in length instead of being an hour long sometimes. Do you guys think that would be easier to watch or do you like the longplay? Does it feel redundant with the reviews? Also I have all the footage and voice overs recorded for Thursday's video, "Ranking Every 7800 Retail Release" and the following Thursday I have all the footage for "The only Atari Flashback for 7800 Fans". God David was such a cool guy to talk to! What a witty and funny dude! We were lucky to have him lending his talents to the 7800. I shudder to think how ninja Golf would've turned out in somebody else's hands who doesn't have the sharp mind of Mr Dentt!

@Atari 5200 Guy thank you so much for your support and checking out the video! I'm glad people are finding it useful and like the information I provided. In the next few months I'll have controller videos, peripheral videos and maybe another list of recommendations for games to buy at reasonable prices.

Oh wow that's awesome thank you! I plan on continuing to post content for as long as I'm able to and I'm glad people seem to be enjoying it! You guys have all been awesome and I really appreciate the kind words and feedback. I hope you like the video I'm trying to interject more personality into the voice overs so hopefully people enjoy it. Let me know what you think or if I missed anything I should've included. I also have a few announcements I posted on the community page of my channel but I'll post them here. It's a MEGA CONTENT WEEKEND for the channel lol. Don't get too excited some of its recycled. First we have a stream going live tomorrow at 7:30pm EST. It'll be available on Vinnies channel too but from now on the Atari 7800 Forever "Procast" (get it, Prosystem, podcast, something I'm trying out) will be available on my channel as well. We will be discussing Ataris purchase of AtariAge and what that means moving forward mainly for Atari themselves. Then Saturday we have another Atari 7800 Forever Procast Interview with David Dentt programmer of Ninja Golf and Klax. I'm super excited for this! Don't miss it Saturday at 5pm EST and show David how much we appreciate his contributions to the 7800 in the chat! Then some sad news for myself personally as the Man Vs 7800 series is cancelled for the time being. I beat a ton of games that I haven't shown yet and it was a personal favorite of mine but people just don't seem interested in long gameplay videos of 7800 games. But I'm super excited to try something new for Mondays weekly content! So instead I'm going to attempt some video reviews. Just like with everything on the channel it may take some time to find the format or voice but I think 5-10 minute reviews will be more digestible for most people and their busy schedules. I'm starting with Knight Guy and that'll be up Monday! Finally on Sunday and Tuesday night I'll be releasing the interviews with revontuli (dragons havoc) and Tailchao (Rikki & Vikki) on my channel. They'll still be available on Vinnies channel and I encourage everybody to visit Vinnies channel and check out his newest Robotron Million Point challenge, but putting the podcast and these interviews on my channel was mostly his idea. I agree that we both worked hard on getting these interviews and we want the world to see them, therefore we want to put them on both channels, post links here and on the atari7800forever website obviously. We do this so the world will know about this stuff! Okay I know that was yet another long post but I hope everybody checks out whatever videos their most interested in! So I'm moving all my videos over here for anybody looking for them. I have a bunch that are already posted over in the 7800 forums for anybody interested. I casually asked if he would mind if I cut up the answers and questions and put them in my playthrough and he graciously offered to record another set of audio! Now mind you, this is my first interview without Vinnie and I was star struck. I don't care much for actors and Hollywood stuff, but for me this is like meeting your favorite celebrity and then them saying hey want to watch my movie and talk about it? So I'm sorry if I come across as less charming lol but the whole time I was pinching myself. Anyway, here it is:

Wow there's so many kind words and long well thought out replies it's hard to know where to start! The beginning maybe lol Thank you, it's hard to know what's too much sometimes. I'm having a hard time quoting stuff in your message on my phone @Justin but thank you. I want to start guiding people this way as I feel it's more welcoming to most but I have to mention other forums for the reason of homebrew. I appreciate all the support. I think it's important to keep our side of the hobby alive and accessible. The channel has 3 goals: 1. bring awareness to Atari specifically the lesser known 7800 era 2. allow ALL members and developers of the community both new and old (from the original guard at Atari corp to those keeping the system alive today) to get their due credit for all their hard work 3. and to grow the community and keep it alive hopefully long after us. I hope the buyers guide and other videos embody these goals. I feel not enough know about @Video 61 and @peteym5 so I'm glad to feature what I can. I plan on doing a controller video among many others. There are a ton of videos I have started and need to finish, some I need to restart as I keep learning more, and tons I need to start. I have enough ideas written down to keep the channel running for about 14 months on planned content so hopefully I keep making you guys and the rest of the community proud. Thanks.

Hey all! I know most of you are well steeped and established in the Atari 7800 and Atari communities as a whole, I just put out a buyers guide for people maybe looking to get into the console for the first time. It covers options for buying consoles and hooking them to different televisions, controllers to use, which games to start with and some homebrew recommendations including a game or two from atarisales.com and gooddealgames.com. It's meant to be an introduction and companion videos will be releasing for the life of the channel digging deeper into controllers etc. If you have any game collector friends who maybe ignored the 7800 in the past, share it with them and see if it peeks there interest. Oh and sorry if I've been posting this stuff excessively, I can cut back. But I truly value all of your opinions and hope to get feedback and ways I can improve. This community has been a big help in that and keeping me motivated. Ok guys let me know thanks.

I remember that review. I liked the 7800 version better but the 2600 version is definitely an accomplishment. To your statement on there being room for a scrolling maze dungeon (ala Zelda, etc) on the 7800 I think there is definitely room for it and people have been really wanting it since the late 80s and beyond I'd say. If only somebody had the talent and ability to make it happen and the rights to produce some properties on Atari. While I'm sure none of these games make a fortune I bet it would be as good of a seller as any but I would never be so bold to say "make this" outright. Just a suggestion...

I knew lance had tons of great stuff over at atarisales.com (including brand new and sealed 2600 and 7800 games of which I recently purchased 3) but I didn't know you had IP rights to produce certain Atari stuff too! Very cool!

Tailchao was so incredibly nice that when he found out I was going to chop up the interview and use it in my video he said he would give me another interview and original audio! We recorded last night and it was so cool. So in the next beating every 7800 game instead of watching me struggle through Rikki and Vikki, I have the first ever guest game play. Watch Osman the director of the game himself play optimally while we talk about his influences, how parts of Rikki and Vikki came to be, and the world premier of a cheat code? Yes! And please please please support him in everything he's doing. He's still working on projects so we haven't seen the last of the very cool and talented Tailchao! Also I think having guest gameplay and audio is a really cool idea for the channel. Even if it's not the developer if anybody loves a game and wants it featured I'd be welcome to uploading and editing for you and putting it up on the channel. Just a thought for some unique content...

Got a new one done. Since it's a prototype I played in Chuck Norris mode aka invincible. Trust me I wouldn't do it if this had been a completed game but I figured an incomplete prototype was fine to do so. So here's the full game (or as much as one can access) of Missing in Action based on the movie of the same name. And yes it has an ending sequence.

OMG Osman was so great on the podcast. And he's a really cool guy just to talk with. So glad I got to be involved on the 7800forever podcast and that Tailchao agreed to sit down with us. Hopefully some more people will start utilizing the resources he made available! Similar to the dragons havoc video, portions of this interview will be edited into my upcoming Rikki and Vikki video. Sorry if it's a bit of a disappointment to people who watched the podcast and want an original voice over but I'm hoping it will: #1 steer people to the full podcast And #2 help get Tailchao more sales of his game on steam, etc. I will interject some original audio as well.

Once again I prove myself to be a liar as the next game I beat is not Rikki and Vikki but Hat Trick. A nice short video but another one bites the dust and it made sense to do it now. This game was also done by ibidinc just like Karateka and done by a familiar name. So the run down so far is Midnight Mutants Tower Toppler Double Dragon Ninja Golf Dragons Havoc Kung-Fu Master Commando Karateka Hat Trick All beaten on video. For the upcoming video I wanted to point something out. There will be two Rikki and Vikki videos, this first one is single player and there will be the two player video as the game is much different in multiplayer. That second video has yet to be recorded and will probably be pretty far in the future. As always thanks for the support guys!
