  1. I'm sorry for not participating in this one. I really wanted to, but a lot of my free time was swallowed up by preparing some Swordquest reviews, which I'm still doing. I'll try to bust out the TG-16 mini before the next one ends.
  2. Sadly Fred feel into to his own trap for the monster before telling the gang of it's whereabouts...
  3. That's correct! In Fester's Quest a UFO approaches at night at the beginning of the game and fester meet several family members for help. The game also uses the Blaster Master overhead engine.
  4. Platform: NES Nighttime UFO? It feels like Blaster Master Your family helps
  5. Too funny! Platform Atari 2600 Many Minigames You are stuck in a big maze Alien Stalker
  6. Yep you got it! In skateboardin you have 5 minutes to navigate ramps and tubes trying to make your way to school on time. And by the way, if you didn't get the tax avoiders hint, there are different types of Investments you can invest in in the game and video games is the best one of course!
  7. As a former world record holder, I had to get that one 😆 Platform Atari 2600 Navigate outside A whole lot of ramps and tubes Will you be tardy?
  8. SMB2 is a sprite hack of a Japanese game called Doki Doki Panic. Nintendo did this because they though that the Japanese SMB2, which plays a lot like SMB1 but harder, would be too difficult for American audiences. I say the US got the better SMB2. Japanese SMB2 came later to the US with Super Mario All Stars as SMB: The Lost Levels.
  9. Yeah Blockbuster worked with several game companies to bring exclusives to their store to rent. The only way you could usually buy one is when they cleared out old rentals. I don't know all of them, but I do know that there was a Flintstones game for the NES, Final Fight guy for the SNES and a Clay Fighter game for the Nintendo 64 that were all Blockbuster exclusives. Deals like this worked because often the publisher wouldn't be sure that there would be enough success on normal retail shelves.
  10. I suggest that you start out by playing Star Wars Jedi Arena first. It's pretty bad as far as paddle games go so it will help you enjoy the other titles LOL. Then I would play some of the better paddle games like Super Breakout, Circus Atari and Kaboom!😁
  11. You got it! HH features you basically entering a house that isn't yours using matches for light. And when you beat the game, you hear a jingle that sounds much like the Twilight Zone theme. Leaderboard updated. You're up!
  12. Score one for the good guys! Leaderboard updated. Platform: Atari 2600 You are trespassing! That jingle sounds familiar... Can I get a light?
  13. Before I answer this, I updated the Leadboard (I type this to help me keep track!) I can think of two titles. I'll try Checkered Flag.
  14. I appreciate the suggestion, but think it would be simpler for everyone to just type correct, or something of that sorts. There could be confusion if we have two different ways to let them know they got it right, and the "Thanks" icon can be done by anyone, even by accident, so if we did the Thanks thing, the guesser would still have to double check to make sure it came from the original author. However, I do encourage people to explain their clues when someone guesses correctly. Sometimes people don't understand all the clues, and giving them enlightenment helps increase their precious retro gaming knowledge! I just want to say thanks to everyone who's been participating! I'm having a blast reading all the haikus and trying to guess the hints. This also gives me a Trivial Pursuit feel, where some may seem easy, but then others taking a little more thinking, and I like that! Keep it going all.
  15. Leaderboard updated. Rick has taken the lead, HDN is tied for second. You can use the follow button to get an e-mail every time something happens on the thread.
  16. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my impromptu live stream last night. During it, I completed all three game variations of E.T. , and actually had fun playing it! You can watch the replay here:
