  1. Weird thing about this heavy sixer...it plays on channel 2 only. No switch. No channel 3.
  2. Making dinner now...but after...I'm coming!
  3. Some new games for trade. All for 2600. (Pressure Cooker and Kung Fu Master are gone)
  4. Chas10e was nice enough to point out the rarity of the silver label Gravitar. Who knew?
  5. That's between me and Craig. PM me if you really want to know.
  6. Picked up a good one today. Heavy sixer (Sears model). And look, Sears branded paddles. The games on the left -- I didn't have. The games on the right, it turns out I do, so they'll be up for trade very soon.
  7. I'm gonna try again on real hardware later today. It's really challenging, but also super fun. Great choice!
  8. What fun! I'll start us off. 62505
  9. The Porky's "Shower" screen and the Tax Avoiders "investment" screen are very similar in looks and gameplay. Specifically, the placement of the ladders, the controls, and the way you have to be "next-to" a ladder to climb it. They play very much the same. What do you all think?

    Entex Space Invader. Great game.
  11. ^^ That's pretty neat, but it must have cost hundreds of dollars and untold hours to put together and perfect. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great....just not viable as a product for sale.
  12. From Ballblazer. 4 2600 games I didn't have...and his namesake game for 5200. THANK YOU!
  13. If I ever retire, I may take you up on the offer. Or maybe when the kids are done with school.
  14. It's a "circle the wagons" move. Come on back to the market they dominate. My opinion is a little darker. I think we've lost a player in the home console market...and that is not a good thing. On the other hand...maybe this is the end of the differences between home and portable consoles...it always has been that portables are stripped down/less powerful than the big brother consoles. In the end, it always comes down to the games. And hopefully, Nintendo continues to shine here.
  15. The connection from Adventure to Zelda is cool! Great post, well stated. I never thought about that before.
  16. I think a "wait and see" approach is probably a good idea here...but I get the feeling that with Nintendo actually producing this (and not ATGames or another third party), this is going to be of very high quality. At least I hope so. I think it's fair to say that only the Atari Flasback 2 and 2+ have been really good quality -- since they attempted to recreate the original hardware. Don't get me wrong -- the other flashbacks have been really good and a lot of fun, but always with a quality caveat -- such as the wonky sound for the Genesis flashbacks, or not being able to save games, or (again) bad sounds on the CV flashback, or that one buggy game on the INTV fb, etc. And let's not forget the original Atari Flashback 1 -- the one that was so bad it actually made me feel angry. Like I said, I really hope they make this a nice, authentic unit. No nickel and diming please -- if it is only HDMI, then include a cable....that kind of omission is just terrible.
  17. Sure thing. Let me look see back through this thread to see what you have....but probably any NES game would be fine.
  18. Oh my. Thanks for the picture. Given that this is one of the most famous Easter Eggs, that's pretty sad.
  19. Oh man, the 10-1 says "Text"? I need to try that. A picture of that should go on Fail Blog. Good find!
  20. Great stuff! I missed a lot of these.
  21. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Adventure is my favorite 2600 game.
  22. If this thing is sold by Nintendo, that means it probably will not be discounted. No clearance sales at Walgreens and such.
  23. My wife just suggested a Junk Dumpster. "So you can fill it with a LOT of things."
  24. I know I'm making too big a deal of this one...but I just found it so fascinating to see the Sesame Street movie sitting in the "office supplies" section of Goodwill and knowing instantaneously what it was. Girl at the register asked me what it was, but even after I explained, had no idea. Way before her time. Anyhoo, I'm so happy to have this, even with my home-made label.
