I would guess, too, that no one would mind if two competitors in the Daniel-san league played a game both agreed to that isn't on the sanctioned list.

I asked, and the answer is no, sadly. No hacked versions. Originals only. But you can use a Trak-ball with the original if you want. I think that's fair, as the hacked version is a lot easier IMO.
