Well, I'm glad you asked.  Because I just did it, and I had to learn. 
First of all, check out what version is shown at the bottom of your screen.  Does it say "R.EDWARDS 17"?  If yes, you have the latest.  Since yours is so new, I'll bet you do.
In any case, you go here to get the latest, and there are instructions on what to do.  To summarize, you put an update file on the root directory of your SD card, and then the UnoCart will see that and have a menu choice for updating the firmware.  Choose that and BOOM...done.  Easy.

Nothing stops you from buying the games still.  They still look good on display.  They will last longer if not used.  Heck, I have three of these things, and I bought a boxed Video Pinball today.  Put your worries away and have some fun. 
 
 

I'll have to get back to you on that.  I'm not able to play some of the new "bigger" homebrews on the Uno, although they work fine on Harmony (The Galagon demo, for example).  However, I have on my "to-do" list updating the firmware on Uno, and then we'll see if that still holds true. 
 

Yes I can!  I am limiting myself to weekends only for now.  Work gets the priority for now.  I also need to buy different color filaments.

I don't think there are any homebrews, but it's the entire 2600 commercial library in both raw and arranged forms.

It's not Tac-Scan @RickR. The variety of cart styles is one of my favorite aspects of the 2600! 

Thanks for mentioning that it's a Sega.  I was wracking my brain trying to remember who made carts with those ridges.

More importantly, I need some help.  I have no idea what I'm doing.  My first question:  what software do you use at school to create the model files?  

One issue I've had so far is this:  I printed the bottom half of a Vectrex cart shell as shown above, and it came out perfect.  I think I may need to bump up the amount of filament used, but otherwise, very good for a first try.  But then, the top of the shell didn't work at all.  Why?  Because the Thingiverse file had the model upside down (flat side up).  I thought my printer software would automatically flip it, but it didn't.  And I tried to figure out how to flip it myself, but no go.  
Of course, no obligation.  Maybe others here have some knowledge to share too.  I'm having fun learning something new.

That's awesome! I've been getting into 3D printing as well lately with the one my school has. I've been making models of Odyssey 2 sprites to put on my shelf. So far I have the waving guy printed out, and designs of the Timelord, KC, and one of the KC ghosts ready to print out next week. I can send the model files your way if that's something you'd like to put on display.

I've never had much beer but, I do agree with RickR, our beer tastes very watered down.  Most of it tastes like someone peed in a can and called it beer.  I'd like to try some of what Japan has.  I hear their beer is good.
I'm a Smirnoff person myself 😉 but not as often as I use to be.  It's good for breaking a fever, I know that much.  I'd rather drink a shot of vodka than to take any cough syrup.  That stuff's nasty.

Why qualify it at all?  If you like it, it's GOOD BEER.  F those who give you flak. 

PS - When I'm in Canada, I make a point to get a Kokanee beer or six.  It's a pilsner, which I like.  And it has a bigger buzz than our whimpy American beers.
