  1. Loved seeing you do your thing. This at one time was given life, then it sat in a box In pieces. You now have given it new life and a new home. You are a great artist, love watching you work. From one kindred spirt to another... keep that shit up.
  2. I’m guessing where Gauntlet really shines is when all your buds are Lynked together and you’re all playing together. That would have been a super cool scene back in the day.
  3. 🎬 Atari Lynx Arcade Oddities drops today on Lynx Lounge. We come to the end of our arcade port block, but three very strange games remain. Gauntlet the Third Encounter (1990), Turbo Sub (1991) and Super Asteroids and Missile Command (1995) are indeed arcade titles, but are they ports, or something different? Let's find out:

  7. Thanks for tuning in 💯 I always fly outside the cockpit, but how awesome that all these years later we can dust these games off and get some enjoyment out of them. Ive been really enjoying sharing all my games with you all, especially knowing that theses were all the games I worked my butt off mowing lawns to buy with my own money back in the early 90’s. Ill get to Battlewheels soon 😎 And thanks for watching.
  8. GCC were responsible for the amazing arcade games on the 7800. If things would have worked out - the big IF, the 7800 would have came to market in 1984. The arcade titles on the 7800, like Food Fight, Ms. Pac Man, Dig Dug would have blown anything out of the water back then. I pictured it like this - Remember when we had our NES at home, then the Neo Geo home system showed up and you could actually play arcade perfect games in your living room... If the 7800 came out in 84, thats what it would have been like. Atari’s Arcade division came out with some of the best arcade experiences of my life time, I loved playing them back in the day, and love playing them now.
  9. 🎬 Hydra goes live today in a NEW episode of Lynx Lounge. Roadblasters on water... Count me in:

    1. Sabertooth

      Sabertooth

Great episode. 2000 has it's charms and is a bit easier with a ProController.  If the ship sprite were smaller and more of the map was viewable, 2000 would be a much better game.  For the Jag's classic updates, it ranks third for me behind Tempest 2000 and MC3D's "virtual" mode.

As it is, I agree that Plus is the best version on the cart. I love the psychedelic esthetic and balanced approach to updating the original with powerups and drone.  Not sure why they didn't implement music for Plus.  You might be right that it's the best way to play Defender.

  15. Ever wonder how we shoot an episode? Well now you can get a look at how we shoot an episode of the Jag Bar. If you ever wondered how to do it... its not that hard.

  19. Lynx Lounge - Hard Drivin' Atari Lynx 1991 Super ambitious arcade port for the Atari Lynx.
  20. I remember this well. My uncle - Uncle Bud, owned the Melody Lane Roller Rink in Hookstown PA. On summers there we spent a lot of time in the rink, in the arcade and at the snack bar. His house was on the same lot as the rink and downstairs in the den/bar room was one of these projectors. I thought it was the coolest thing to see an image that big on the wall. But if memory serves me the picture was not that great and there was a lot of futzing in order to get it just right - plus a dark room was needed.
  21. Love my Road Blasters cabinet, but wouldn’t mind another just to switch out Indiana and Marble Madness. Such great memories with this game, from the music, to the digitized speech, and the chance to be Indy... wow.
  22. Marble Madness, Road Runner, Peter Packrat, Road Blasters and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom all were Atari System 1 cabinet games. Which one was your favorite? Another Live! Arcade play from your old pal BTB
  23. Hey there! Glad you found the article here as this information is spread out all over the place and I wanted to highlight the work I was attempting to do, and keep it all on one sight. As for your questions. - Leave out the V & H Sync solder the rest just like in the pic. - old monitor plugs wont be needed -re wire the NEW power converter as stated on the front lable, it gets the power from another converter on the board. And the monitor s its own power supply, plunging the cabinet and monitor into one cable - I believe its a 19” dell any 19” or 20” 4X3 monitor will work - I used some cheap metal strips from Home Depot to make the bracket, most monitors have screw holes in the back for the stand or mounting, just use those, with a few washers you should be set. Good luck! Bring your machine back from the brink and give it some life. I will try to find some time to post some more pice soon.
