On the subject of retro-brighting, there is a really cool guy that goes by the name @Airshack who has performed the procedure on an Apple II. I wonder if he or anyone else here has had any experience with performing the procedure on a beige TI?
Also, after the procedure, does anyone know if spray painting the case in clear UV paint would prevent it from happening again?

I believe the results are also based on other user submitted scores in addition to the hardware speed increases causing the scale to constantly change. They would have to because otherwise those of us with PCs that were in the UFO range like mine was in 2019, can't stay that way forever. Eventually the newest stuff has to take over the UFO status and drop the rest of us that don't keep up with the Jones'
Yeah, you're right. It did have UFO status, at least in the "desk" portion when I bought it. I usually keep a PC 7 years before I get a new top of the line replacement, so I figure in 5 more years this one will be garbage scow class or something like that anyway.

The program I use the most, which makes it the most useful one in my collection I guess is: CALENDAR
I keep my schedule, appointment dates and other things on it since it does not share my personal data with Micro$haft, Google or any other personal data mining company. It can be used without a Triple Tech real time clock, although it's better with one. Sadly this is one program that has NOT been 'updated' for use with the TIPI's RPi clock, which would make it much more awesome and useful to a greater number of TI'ers.
The file program is attached below for download, but I had to add a .BIN extension so it would upload to this site. It's NOT a cartridge program, but a standard E/A5 so just remove the extension before use. Enjoy!

So, do any of you guys know of, or have a link to a stash of TI goodies not yet mentioned?
-
@Airshack did you get the SD card extension installed yet?

Another one with the same production style, but you rockers might like this better...

Here's a new one from Rolling Quartz. It's a little on the "poppish-side" sound-wise, but it's interesting to see non scripted camera angles.

I'm not sure this test is all that accurate. I ran the test this morning WITHOUT ANY CHANGES from yesterday, and my numbers changed.
UserBenchmarks: Game 58%, Desk 95%, Work 54%
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 - 91.4%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060-6GB - 57.6%
SSD: Toshiba XG5 NVMe PCIe M.2 256GB - 162.5%
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 2TB - 100.7%
USB: WD My Passport 259F 3TB - 40%
USB: WD Elements 25A3 8TB - 74.3%
RAM: Unknown HMA81GU6CJR8N-VK 4x8GB - 83.4%
MBD: Dell XPS 8930 -
UserBenchmarks: Game 55%, Desk 93%, Work 49%
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 - 85.7%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060-6GB - 57.2%
SSD: Toshiba XG5 NVMe PCIe M.2 256GB - 158%
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 2TB - 99.1%
USB: WD My Passport 259F 3TB - 39.6%
USB: WD Elements 25A3 8TB - 74.5%
RAM: Unknown HMA81GU6CJR8N-VK 4x8GB - 82.9%
MBD: Dell XPS 8930
Something is definitely wrong, my numbers used to be higher, but I don't know if it's all because of the grading scale mentioned in the message above, or if my system is running too much stuff. I guess it's time for a little "maintenance".

NASA has pushed back Ingenuity's first flight due to a safety alert during a spin rotor test. The flight, originally set for the 11th will not happen before Wednesday, April 14. NASA did say however that the helicopter is in good shape.

Ingenuity Status
Done: Unlocking the rotor blades.
Next: Spin test of rotor blades up to 2,400 RPM (without taking off).
Then: First of five planned flights over a 30 day period.

One of the best places to see the amazing new and classic TI games before downloading them is the << TI-99/4A Game Shelf >>. You'll see photos and descriptions of the games BEFORE you download. This way you will not waste time blindly downloading and trying something that 'only sounded good'. He has a LOT to choose from!

First of all, the site linked below is a mess, there is stuff stuffed everywhere and it can be hard to find something specific. Hower it is the largest repository of TI stuff that I know about. Go in and take a peek, you may just find something that grabs your interest and sends you down the rabbit hole.

Planning on getting into the TI-99/4A? Only have a FlashROM or maybe a FinalGROM, but no 32K memory expansion yet? If so,

Variant #2 is beautiful!
I agree! You can buy one < HERE >> if you are interested. You can even pick your own color combination. I chose silver and black myself, but for those with beige TI's, well they have alternatives now too!

I consider the CF7+ / NanoPEB indispensable. Combined with the FinalGROM it makes my TI99/4a the system I could only dream of as a young teenager when I couldn't afford the official PEB with all the bells and whistles..only took 40 years!
It gets even better when you consider monetary inflation! The FinalGROM 99 is dirt cheap when you think about it. In today's money it costs what, $110 - $125 depending on the case you get and shipping? So much of that software is FREE and ABUNDANT on the Internet now.
So that super duper mega cartridge would cost only about $51.00 in 1985... heck I paid $99.00 for Multiplan back in the day, so THIS is the golden era for TI'ers!

Oh, I must have misunderstood, I thought you had an F18A video enhancement, so was wondering if it displayed the full 80 columns that I thought Funnelweb was capable of. I've been using Force Command which is a DOS that resides in the FinalGROM.

The << TI99IUC WEBSITE >> has so much content, you'll probably be overwhelmed at first, but set the language to what you need, and take your time sifting through all it has to offer. Feel free to report back back with anything you think is too awesome to pass up!

Funnel Web. It is amazing.
I tried that back in the late 80's, but for some reason I never adopted it. How does it work with your F18A? Do you get 80 columns out of it?
Could post a link to the latest version so we could all give it a go?

@DavidC WELCOME ABOARD! Nice to have another TI'er among the ranks! Hope to see you here daily! That F18A makes all the difference!

There's going to be a slight format change for the better. Since this page has migrated here, it's now going to be open to anything TI related anywhere in the world on the Internet that you think fits the subject matter of this thread. So, if you know of anything good, or special, please, post the link here!

Many of us have favorite games, but what do you consider the most "USEFUL" program in your collection?

Crazy the amount of dust already on the solar arrays on this little guy!
Yeah, no kidding! Hopefully a little of it will fall off during the first flight, otherwise it'll affect the recharge time for the next flight.

That brought back memories. I had one of those... I HATED IT! Manually dialing a busy BBS repeatedly was not fun. The cord on that thing was short, so the location you could put it was limited. 300 baud, well by today's standards that's "Molasses in January" speed. Come to think of it, I don't even have a phone anymore with the correct handset. There is not even a BBS that I'd want to call via the phone lines.
