Speaking of Mars, one scene in this movie really drives me nuts. If the habitat is pressurized at Earth standard, there is no way that in the thin Martian atmosphere that this could ever happen. It would be like blowing against an inflated balloon.

I really do love this stuff. Mars is what...180 million miles from Earth? The math and technology required to make a successful mission is mind-boggling.
Currently the distance is: << CLICK HERE FOR RESULT >>

This is my favorite video so far...

Yes, I love this kind of thing. The pictures from Mars have been spectacular. And now the audio makes it that much more "you are there"-esque.
I agree, it's too bad the audio cut out during descent and landing. It would have been so cool to hear what it sounded like in the thin atmosphere.

If you are just getting into the TI and have limited space, there is an inexpensive MONITOR STAND on that might suit your needs...

It's color matching too!

OK, I couldn't resist. I've been buying TI books lately. I can't believe how many there are! This book isn't exactly for me, but it was cheap and will be enjoyed. 🙂
Cool! It's always neat to get new things for the hobby. Congrats! 👍

<< HERE >> in an interesting buy it now. You get 8 Guidry 64K cartridge boards for $77.00 or $9.63 each. If you already have the PROMS and a burner, it might be a good deal.

I totally understand and can relate to the mindset. If I had no past history with one, I wouldn't bother making it a priority either. In your case @Atari 5200 Guy, I'd simply go with emulation. That way you could check out 95% of the stuff out there for free and then keep what you want. If you do decide to go with emulation, I recommend Classic 99. One word of warning though, it was about 8 years ago that I tried Tursi's emulator, and it sucked me in like a whirlpool. I'm still trapped!

If you guys want to see what some of the games for the TI-99/4A are like before you decide to download them this link: http://tigameshelf.net/ is pretty darn cool!

Are you talking about adding in the 32k expansion module? Or something for the O2? I don't own an O2 nor desire to own one honestly.
No I was simply commenting on not firing up the O2 and eventually getting rid of it due to lack of games. Limited time and space affects my reality.

Any chance to consolidate these into single zip files vs one by one grabbing?
Sorry to say this, but... not by me. I worked on that gargantuan list over a period of years, and am now I'm investing most of my free time trying to get this section up and self sustaining. Also, this website does not currently allow the .ZIP extension or files over 9.77MB in a single message, so that would kind nix that. Now, if you know of a site that would host a .ZIP file in perpetuity and allow the file to be constantly updated with newer versions or new files, that would be awesome. It sound like a cool project for a retired person with lots of time on their hands.

@Airshack Now that you have your P-Box TIPI installed, make a DIS/VAR 80 (text file) in the TIPI root directory with the following information and tell me what you think.
TIPIBEEPS
BAR ON
PROMPT=\c\p \g
PATH=TIPI.LOADERS.;TIPI.FC.;TIPI.APPS.
XMOD=XB28GEMG
XBADDR=32325
ECHO
ECHOOmit the text in RED if you don't use GEM 2.8 as your Extended BASIC.

I like it! @Airshack, but could I offer one suggestion? If you post your images at https://imgur.com/ and link them here, they will not be automatically reduced in visual quality.

... I also own Alpiner, Parsec, and even Microsurgeon along with a few other physical carts for the system, but again, I rarely fire it up to use it.
Yeah, I felt the same way about my Odyssey2 I only had three games for it, so was never really inspired to use it. One more cartridge though could give you access to HUNDREDS of games.

Sorry, I could not help myself... one more today.
... now I'll give someone else a chance. Sorry for hogging things.

I don't think one was enough to kick off this new thread, so... how about two more? 🙂

I thought a neat little storage place for TI related cartoons, graphics and photos, basically all sorts of TI-99/4A related artwork would be cool to have. Feel free to share what you have and copy what you don't. I'll start it off...

Any TI-99/4A Users want to get active on this site?

Okay, here's the status so far. The poll has now been closed. After nearly a month, there were only 10 participants. Sadly most of the messages so far are from me, which you have to admit is quite boring! I'm looking forward to the participation mentioned by the respondents to the poll. To get this section up and operating, we need input of it's users/participants so they can decide what it is THEY want to see by adding messages and directing the flow of conversation.
I'm asking a couple of favors from everyone reading this message.
1) Go out online to at least two places you hang out and contact two friends and let them know about this place. If you have a podcast or YouTube page, even better.
2) Start a message thread on something TI related YOU want to see or YOU are interested in.
It's my dearest hope that this forum "take off", but I feel really weird logging in here to see my icon everywhere, I don't feel comfortable posting messages feeling like I'm hogging this place which belongs to everyone.
