  1. Jurassic Park SNES. I thought it was a great blend of outside over the top action and inside pseudo 3D adventure.

    I-War!

It wouldn't have fared better. Not under Lore design. They seemed to be another grab the money and slop something together crew.
  3. FB conversations with some of the old Atari guard from the Jags era seemed to come off as a general sense of them maybe not really having any self reflection. A lot of pointing fingers to outside of Atari forces. Victim of circumstance. Forces were aligned against us etc. While a lot of that may be true there was no 'ok here here and here we could have done things differently.' really apparent. There are a few mentions with hardware design but regarding overall belief's, attitude s etc after they got what they had regarding hardware.
  4. Man I would have been totally star struck. They would have had to call security.
  5. Faran did you get to meet Lance H? How far along was the game? Did you ever actually see any part of the Mortal Kombat 3 beta running?
  6. Oh s*** just get a bypass cartridge. Don't go chopping up your Jaguar CD player to just to play unencrypted CDs.
  7. Halfway through this episode. It is hard to hear what you guys are saying.
  8. Guys I can't find the flex circuit listed on B&C anymore. Am I overlooking it or is it somewhere else now?
  9. I will post his worknotes. He was doing almost everything except sound. Some notable specifics is Hover Strikes' smooth polygons. No warping. And apparently some mip mapping. Draw distance/rate isn't great and game itself isn't bery good but the textures are sharp. I think one of Segas AM R&D depts were as big as all of Atari.
  10. Great video I always enjoy your videos. The floaty hovertank thing was I do believe actually intentional. The problem I think was that all of Atari's game designers came off of being operating system Developers. The 3D engine was designed by Eric Smith. You can actually go download this engine and assembler compile it and use it. While no you'll never get it to throws many polygons on the screen as a PlayStation or Saturn the engine used like I said is the Atari one and it's incredibly crappy overall. You can see a bitching of its drawbacks here: http://www.3do.cdinteractive.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=3430#p37499 Atari had one guy(Eric Smith) doing most of their 3D research and development along with just a shitload of other things. He was stretched just way too thin.
  11. Whoa you beat me to all this. Good call.
  12. I was thinking about this today. They could have had cool Atari themed environments. Like one which is the Blasted landscape of Missile Command with missiles raining down in the background. But I think someone already said that. Or how about where missiles could be targeted at the opponents and they have like a few moments to get out of the way. Race through Bentley Bears Castle. A Tempest 2000 inspired track. Where it looks like your sort of racing down the web like Black Widows and or Tempest 2K. Maybe you have to dodge spikers? How about the power ups could have been like super zapper. The possibilities could have been fun.

Atari owl was never sure why the frame rate in highlander was so poor. He stated there's no reason for it to be really.
  14. I hope the 'ignore topic' function works on this forum because that's where this thread is going immediately.
  15. No. You could do it in C. On the GPU. The workaround for the GPU hardware bug still needs to be found for it.
