How To Make Your Own Intellivision Game

So I just reviewed this new book, Programming Games For Intellivision by Oscar "Nanochess" Gutierrez (Programmer of Hover Bovver on the Intellivision as well as Princess Quest and Mecha 8 on the Colecovision and Flashback). In it he walks you through how to make your own Intellivision game using IntyBasic.

So if this interests you, here are some links to get your started.

To order the book:

Follow the 2018 IntyBasic Programming Contest to see some games being made this year using IntyBasic that may end up in cartridge form: http://atariage.com/forums/forum/194-intybasic-programming-contest-2018/

Personally, I think it's so cool how someone can learn how to program new games for old systems.

Very cool, thanks so much for sharing.  INTV isn't my system of choice...I've had 2600 tools loaded on my computer now for over a year but cannot find the time to get started there.

I think I'll write a book about finding time and motivation for the modern busy adult.

I've taken a liking to the 7800 personally. Graphically, the 7800 is possibly to most powerful of the 8-bit consoles in that era. The ability to move at least a hundred sprites on screen without any slowdown issues is astounding. Intellivision never really sparked my interest but is still a good console. I can't wait to see what Tommy shows later this year on the new Intellivision.
