TrekMD Posted September 22, 2023 Report Posted September 22, 2023 Hmm, I don't believe so. I would have looked in Atari Age but all their ROMs have been removed. DegasElite 1 Quote 🖖 Going to the final frontier, gaming...

TrekMD Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 (edited) You can still fine the games listed, the rarity guide, etc but there are no more ROM files. Edit: I just looked at the hacks section and there are ROMs there but I think they are of Atari games. I haven't checked completely. I did not, however, find any hacks of Video Chess. walter_J64bit Posted September 23, 2023 Author Report Posted September 23, 2023 Oh ok I've posted the same question over on AA. https://forums.atariage.com/topic/355096-video-chess/ Quote
Scott Stilphen Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 AFAIK the bug has never been confirmed. The latest take on this is the color cycling routine fooled people into thinking the computer was cheating and moving pieces. When the computer stops thinking and the board returns, the color-cycling routine will be running and some pieces can become invisible, and it appears board positions have changed. As soon as you move the controller, they all reappear. https://www.ataricompendium.com/game_library/easter_eggs/vcs/26videochess.html RickR 1 Quote

I've never seen anyone recreate the bug. In my own attempts, it takes forever to try, but the computer did not cheat. If the bug is real, you'd think there'd be a youtube video proving it. Quote
walter_J64bit Posted September 23, 2023 Author Report Posted September 23, 2023 Hummm nanochess on AA is saying the same thing it must not happen all the time. Quote
walter_J64bit Posted September 23, 2023 Author Report Posted September 23, 2023 It sounds I've seen something that not every one has seen so I'll run with that but this is very interesting . Quote
