If you're a VCS owner or just curious about what's been going on, be sure to check out Club VCS where this month's Challenge will be for VCTR-SCTR, and thank Sabertooth for all the hard work he's put into building the best community for VCS gamers! NOTE: Our next High Score Squad Challenge will be posted momentarily. Be there!
  2. The yellow car was always my favorite back in the day, I guess I liked the way it looked and the character that went with it in the manual. These days I've found the same thing you have: I use the blue car to get better scores. Best one to play overall in my experience.

That face you make when you try to play Atari ET without reading the manual.

I wonder what face.is made when the game is figured out?

  6. YES you are. KaOS has got to be one of the coolest name for an operating system I've ever heard. I love it!

  8. ❄️☃️🕹️ HAPPY ATARI DAY! If you're with family & friends, today is a great day to invite them to the World of Atari!

I am playing Atari Mania and my children are trying to help me figure out the rules for each mini-game.

I'm playing VCTR-SCTR and Neo-Breakout on Atari 50 (VCS). The Digital Eclipse folks really "get" the original games and recapture their spirit in the reimagined versions. They are hard to put down and well worth the price of entry.

  9. (Note: You're probably asking yourself why didn't I post TV commercials to the TV Forum? Because it's not about TV and it's not about the commercials, it's about what's in them. AMC Gremlin isn't "TV". Neither is Levis, K-Mart, Polaroid, Kay Bee or Blockbuster. More so, it's about what they represent, our shared memories of those things and those times and what they mean to us. Everything else springs from that. This should be a fun topic!)
  10. How about I kick things off with a retro commercial for a true retro icon - the 1973 Levi's Edition American Motors Gremlin:
  11. It almost feels weird for "Atari" to be a real thing in existence out there doing such a nice job and providing support for their own products, it's been decades since we've enjoyed this sort of thing in Atariland.
  12. 🤔 Is there any notable difference between Star Trek's "Q" and Samantha Stephens?

  13. As we head deep into the 2nd half of our race, our current leaders are... 1st: @RickR 2' 11" 62 2nd: @greenween 2' 12" 46 3rd: @Sabertooth 2' 16" 32
  14. Fun Fact: The 1989 Lotus Esprit SE was the "movie car" that Richard Gere famously drove throughout the film Pretty Woman. Neither Ferrari nor Porsche wanted to be associated with Pretty Woman because one of the leads was a prostitute, so they prohibited the film from using their cars. Lotus didn’t mind.
  15. I LOVED this game. I had an Esprit back in the day, partially due to this game and partially due to the Esprit being the "sister car" to the DeLorean DMC-12, as the DeLorean was based on the Esprit and engineered by Lotus at Hethel. They're sisters but not quite twins. Park them side by side and you'll see the similarities, same low, swept-back stance, both designed by Giugiaro, the DeLorean is wider, Esprit typically had a smaller engine at that time, nestled in the middle of the car rather than the rear. Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge was a cool game, fun to play, and one of the first racing games I can think of that was both 1.) officially licensed and branded with a car brand (Lotus) as opposed to games like Out Run which were not officially licensed through Ferrari and never used the Ferrari brand, and 2.) challenged the player with more detailed and somewhat more realistic driving physics, instrumentation, cockpit layout and gear shift. I remember playing this game and thinking it was like a flight simulator for driving. Really a neat game.
  16. Would you truly want to "reboot" TNG as a tv show with new actors, rather than continue the story with a new crew 40 years on?
  17. What do you think of the name "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny"? Disney announced the title to the new Indiana Jones movie along with with its movie trailer. Interested to hear your feedback on the name "Dial of Destiny" and thoughts on the franchise in general
  18. Interesting results, so far there are as many votes for TurboGrafx-16 challenges and MAME challenges as there are for Atari 2600. Seems like you guys enjoy a balanced mix 🏆
  19. You've done an amazing job @Sabertooth!! Thank you 🏆
  20. I'm glad you enjoyed Neo-Geo Golf! I was thinking the same thing, it's one of my favorites.
