Greyfox got a reaction from Justin in Atari ST - Rise of the Demoscene on KS!
Many thanks pal for the mention, I'm only playing a very small part in this, just done a few book page renders for it and gave or tried to give some sound advice to Marco for it, I will say this, it's one of those books that doesn't come along to often, sure we all have the ones with 2 page spreads of screenshots, but this is so much more, the design and flair of it and better still the book binding is going to be second to none, it's like Thalion themselves finesse this, is how good Marco and the team have presented it, it's going to be very unquie"

So if your deciding to treat yourself to something really special and you love the ST, then this is highly recommended, you won't be sorry, from what I've seen, it's something ST spectacular!!

Thanks for the support so far, it's truly appreciated folks.

    Yep here they come...

Gamester81 is a male bimbo. He's a likable guy but he doesn't seem very intelligent to me. He kinda just stands there with his box of stuff and goes "yup, that's cool." He’s a total bimbo. He went to the biggest party school ever, seriously google it, it churns out mediocre porn workers like a sausage factory and his YouTube show is basically 1st grade show and tell.

Classic gaming has too many clueless male bimbos (not you guys!) in power roles. ALL of these bad situations in classic gaming are because of this!!! They prance around YouTube with their hats on backwards and end up in charge of things that they're totally unqualified to be doing. Passion project or not. When they try to milk their popularity for money, they get in over their heads and people get burned. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Whenever there's a new "retro" console/module/ pie in the sky something that doesn't live up to the hype, you can always bet there’s a stumblebum male bimbo there with his hand out asking for your money and not getting the job done. These guys are absolutely clueless.

The bimbo part comes in when they think they can lie to us, manipulate us, deceive us and play us for fools like we can't see EXACTLY what they've done. They rely on the "good ‘ol boy" network of ditzy male bimbos to support them and to attack people as a hater or a mob if you have the balls to ask them to just clear this up. This is absolutely outrageous and everyone attached to this from Gamester81 to Mike Kennedy had better get real transparent real fast before they're hit with serious lawsuits from every side. Coleco holdings already has reason to believe they're in breach of contract. People go to jail for stuff like this!

It's not just Mike Kennedy pushing this circus show, it's Gamester81 and every other ditzy male bimbo who let this get as far as it did. These guys are totally incompetent and nobody seems to be talking about mass support of mass incompetence as a problem. These guys F--ed their way into this mess and they'll try to F-- their way out.

Ahh that's a pity , but What about the lost ST game, Galahad is the go to man for Amiga stuff, Ask him to get in contact with Marakatti over at the Atari a Mania forum or site or over at Atari-Fourms. And as far as I know Ian Steward is easily contactible on Facebook and the likes , I'm sure he'd allow it as a gift to the communities etc. or maybe not, but it would be cool none the less.

Another cracking interview, again really enjoyed it, and amazing again digging out a lost ST game, as regards to getting code extracted from the disks, the guy behind Atari Mania have a team to recover such stuff, I think the best person and man for the job I suggest either pass this on to Rich to ask is Marakatti from Atarimania on how to go about the extraction work or better still, send on the stuff to him?, secondly my good friend Galahad over at EAB could do the Amiga version as he was responsible for the after 20 years release of the system 3's "Putty" from their master disks, as they couldn't read from them, but he managed it.

So again many thanks Ross for this brilliant interview, would of loved to have included this stuff in ST gamer magazine.

    Cheers.

Many thanks for your appreciation Fella, delighted you and many others have enjoyed the video, the next one next week, no Two wonderful games there, I remember loading up Gremlins and marvelling at how good the graphics and character animation was in the game, and saying to myself, why can't all games be this smooth running? Living daylights would of being one I wasn't around for considering I moved to the ST in 1986, this would of been 1987, so I was 16-bit'ing at that time, but still great scrolling and multiple layer going on, showed the A8 was not out of its reign by any stretch of the imagination.

Another game that fits on par with Gremlins was Broaderbund's lovely little classic "Drol" the colour edition, it's a 2d up'n'down platformer shooting scorpions and flying chicks or duck, anyways the animation and fantastic sprites holds a place here

I thought on this topic and since I've gotten back into doing video on you tube, here is my latest offering cover a company in 3 part gameplay review, I decided to cover Datasoft, the first of these three videos cover a brief history of who was behind the company and then onto the first game, which was an easy selection of three classic games, the first being the great "Bruce Lee" so please check it out, thanx

That was certainly a really good title on the Atari, but with little or no clues on what you had to do, it's didn't in my opinion fit the strong or progress of the film? But it's coding, music from Ben Daglish was well received. Another few games that I feel were excellent and excelled the Atari 8 as a great games machine was L.K. Avalon's 1992 Adax, video below

Follow by this little gem a year later from L.K.Avalon's Spy Master which has fantastic Animation and very decent graphics from this of 6 years previously seen in Atari games and even contains a hidden Centipede game at the end.

Prime examples of polish coding at its best there and the following with no exception, it show that later devs could do tricks with the Atari 8-bit that earlier coders could only dream off and with the next title is a perfect example of this, a game not released over here commercial, but in Poland of its home origin, a title by the name of " Magia Krysztalu " has fantastic graphics, music, animation and the charter can even morph into another creature right before your very eyes, but alias is only in Polish, no English translation for such a lovely game

A lot of good info here.  Thank you!

I hope no one minds me mentioning this (and I may have mentioned it already, forgetful SOB that I am) ...but one of the really great things about the ST is that you can create working floppy disks from a PC with a floppy drive.  Download a disk image, create a disk, and BOOM, you can run the software on a real Atari ST.  You don't even need to find DD disks...HD works fine.  Just tape over the hole on the disk to "fool" your PC into thinking it's DD.

I was reading through my tweets today and seen a person had put up a collection of magazine game advertisements from that great publisher Gremlin Graphics, expecting to see the usual Lotus Espirits totems and such, there was a four panelled on with games coming out circa 1988 across the Spectrum (Released) C64(released) Atari ST(unreleased) ???? , a game I'd never heard of, let alone seen it was in production and from Gremlin Graphics called "Hercules: Slayer of the Damned" .so I took the liberty of downloading and cropped this game advertisement and have posted a preview below. What happens to this game? Why wasn't it finished? Did it turn into Pegasus? It Clearly states from the advert that it was been released on the Atari ST, not even the Amiga was getting it? Who knows what happened?

I've also include a link to Lemon64 on their thoughts and review of the game plus a video play through to see what we could of had on the ST, my only conclusion is that they were working on Lotus and the few other exclusives on the ST to be bothered doing an 8-bit game port over, but I've never heard of this game and would have loved to have given it a go.
