RickR got a reaction from Justin in 👼 🕹️ Has anybody here ever introduced a modern toddler to Atari 2600?
Well, my kids were, but I don't think this counts as they are adults now.  90's kids.
They liked playing Atari with Dad.  And they had fun.  But to be completely honest, they got a lot more mileage out of the educational computer games of the time and then kids games on Gameboy.  More polish and better graphics made them a lot more interested.  I had a Dreamcast at the time, but they only liked the racing games (like Hydro Thunder).  Gamecube for them was their golden console.  Everything took off from there.

It's starting to come down pretty hard right now. We're getting the outer bands of it as it approaches shore, which shouldn't hit us until morning. This won't be a direct hit for us unless it moves lower but we'll still get hit with some of it. I think @TrekMD and everybody on that side should be okay 🙂

Thanks @RickR the site will continue to be online without interruption, our next High Score Squad Challenge may potentially be delayed by one day. I'm going to try to get that ready tonight and have it automatically post at a scheduled time.

Yes I hope all of you stay dry, and your families, pets, Atari machines, and other property are undamaged.
In a tropical storm one year, my brother and I played Resident Evil 0 in the dark in a power outage, with the GameCube and little GameCube flip up screen. Our parents had a little power thing that could plug in 110v appliances off a battery. That was pretty creepy, with the wind was raging and the thunder and lightning was going on.

RickR reacted to Jinroh in 🤔 What was the first video game you fell in love with as a child?
Not a kid, but my father was a competitive Pac-Man player at bars in the 80s. That was his game.
A few years later in the mid-80s he and I loved Pole Position for the 2600 and at the Time Out arcade at the mall.

Arcade and 2600 for SI, arcades for the other two.  Although OutRun was the sole reason why I wanted a Master System.
Gyruss I loved in the arcades.  I never knew it ever made it to the home consoles and computers.  Anything Atari my hometown stopped carrying for the longest time.  I'd own this arcade if I could.
OutRun was a total shock when I first seen it.  I couldn't get enough of it but, unfortunately, I didn't have enough money either.  I loved everything about this game.

Stunt Cycle, the arcade version.  That and 280Zzzzap were probably the first games I ever played.

Working from home is awesome.  I didn't like it at first.  But I've come to appreciate it very much now.  BUT using space efficiently and keeping things neat has been a challenge.

RickR got a reaction from Justin in 🤔 Has anyone ever gotten around to 3-D Printing an Atari Panther shell?
Now that would be cool!  Do you know if the print files are available anywhere?  I could definitely have it done if so.
(I sold off all my 3D printer equipment and supplies, but I know of a local service that can print anything if I provide the print files).

I haven't either.  But I have quickly learned that Datasoft must have been one of the better third party developers.  Truth be told it is probably because of them some of the 5200 games were even made.
