  1. I'd like to hear your input on it when you get it. I seriously need something to re-ignite my TI fire. With so little related activity here, my TI remains setup, but not hooked up since I move in six months ago. My TIPI has has the old chip, and I'm even forgetting how to do some things. My memory has been declining over the past five years and if I don't do things often, I forget how.
  2. Oh, @RickR, are you going to replace the 5.25's with a modern SD card based storage device?
  3. AWESOME FIND! You know if it freezes after warming up, it could be something as simple as a thermal problem with old dried out heat sink compound. When you open it up, look for white dried out paste between a chip and a heat sink as your first target. With a machine that old, it's a common problem, especially if it works fine before warming up.
  4. Yeah, at one point in time TA was my favorite as my son hacked the Fark in the game and I was able to cheat big time. 😛
  5. I'm not a big modern gamer. I prefer the small easy to pick up and put down games. Listed below is my ENTIRE collection of modern and semi-modern games. I'd probably download more, but as you can see, Steam throttles their downloads.
  6. I don't go with individual physical media anymore, unless you count the hard drives. I watched The Equalizer 3 last night as I had to use up my Amazon credit before it expired.
  7. Apparently dinner here is at 5pm as well. I had planned on pizza and a video, but my neighbors invited themselves over. They're bringing all the food so I guess I cannot complain. Thing is when I do favors for people, I do not expect reciprocity, but they must believe otherwise.
  8. ... but I thought he liked his food live, like his gaach?
  9. Maybe you can dedicate your old cellphone to a new task now? Today I was going through a box and found an old obsolete Chromecast device, instead of throwing it out, I paired my old cell phone with the Google Home APP and started casting my light bulb camera to it. I was a little bummed out that the light bulb camera only works with cell phones, but you know the old saying, "Where there's a will, there's a way!"
  10. Actually that is why I was asking. I would never ask someone to try it out for me, but if they had already tried it, I'd like their input. I've learned in life to be wary of the word "free" as it's usually a lie.
  11. Has anyone played << THIS GAME >> yet?
  12. @RickR, @Smell Dawg, @sramirez2008, @TrekMD Wow guys, thanks for all the nice comments! The posters comment had me confused for a second though, but I know what he meant.
  13. Well I figured it was time to update this after I downsized into my retirement condo. My computer room is not large, and it does not have all the cool toys like many of you have, but it's functional and I like it.
  14. I am NOT a fan of the new trend of shipping things WITHOUT the ability to power them.
  15. I'm older than many of you here, so way back in 1977 my first dream machine was the TRS-80 Model I, but as a kid I simply didn't have the money to buy one. Looking back that was a good thing as computers were changing so fast and obsolescence raised its ugly head rather quickly. About six years later I ended up with a TI-99/4A because the color graphics, the Parsec game and the lower cost for entry locked me in. I eventually did get a TRS-80 Model III later for more practical uses, but got rid of it after a couple of years. The TI-99/4A is a quirky machine, but nostalgia brought me back to it decades later as nothing more than a hobby machine to see what I could make it do with new tech add-ons. As the years piled up, and the decades have past, computers no longer seem to be the mystical and magical holy grails of my youth, now I see them as only a tool to do the things I want. I am finding out one thing as I approach codgerhood, it's true what they say about senior citizens and their second childhood, however it's more fun the second time around as now I can get whatever I want, unlike that kid so many years ago that had more dreams than means.
  16. Anyone up for a standup arcade machine for their home for Christmas? << CLICK HERE >> $430.00
  17. http://moonlander.seb.ly << CLICK HERE >> To play Lunar Lander online! Here is a screen grab of my first landing... ... and my second landing...
  18. Ouch! I read the reviews. This is the first time I've felt compelled to cancel an Amazon order in over eight years.
  19. @TrekMD Please let me know if that micro SD card slot does anything other than expanded score settings...
  20. Thanks for the heads up on this unit! I've been wanting the original 1979 arcade version of Lunar Lander for decades, and this unit has it! So I purchased the unit for the TV in the bedroom, which will put those wireless controllers to use. I did notice that the Amazon quantity indicator LIES. It said there was only one left when I clicked buy... it still says there is one left. But at that price, it's a real good deal!
  21. The version I have was purchased from the AtariAge store a few years ago. I've only played it once. 🙄
