In addition to the standard CX-40 and PainLine controllers, I have...

This weird one, which I acquired recently in an eBay auction. The raised text around the stick says NEWPORT CONTROLLERS on the top and BISHOP, CA  PATENT PENDING on the bottom. It's a plain-yet-weird looking controller, but it works amazingly well:

Also from the same auction is this thing I've never seen: the BC Blaster from B.C. Systems in Melrose, Massachusetts. The stuff I got in the auction was packed very poorly and the fire button broke off, but this morning I glued it back on with Gorilla Glue (and obviously I didn't glue it perfectly evenly!) and it's holding on VERY well. (Those of you who listen to either of my podcasts -- this is what I was talking about.) It's a very light controller -- the bulky fake wood box is virtually empty. Played it on both 2600 Asteroids and 7800 Asteroids DeLuxe to great success!

And this is my UberArcade joystick made specifically for the 7800, but of course it works in anything that takes a 9-pin joystick. It's a fantastic 8-way joystick, but it's very frustrating on 4-way games -- very sensitive:

Aaaaaaand, of course, the one I seemingly never shut up about: the Edladdin All-Play 4/8 Supreme 78. Lift up the panel and there's a ring you turn to alternate between 8-way and 4-way:

I was talking with BTB tonight about the 720° arcade game from Atari, as well as the port for Atari Lynx. BTB sent me a link to "720° Zone" and I thought I'd share it here. If you liked 720° this is a great website full of resources on how to buy, own, and restore 720° arcade machines. If you've ever played 720° or never played 720° this is worth checking out. I really enjoyed looking through this tonight.

Their main site is here: http://www.720zone.com/

And their story is here: http://www.720zone.com/720-Zone-Collection.html

    Enjoy!

Also here's a bit from the November 1991 issue of EGM on the Atari Lynx port of 720° (also Cabal)

I have 3 cabinets that I hope to come across some day - Crystal Castles, Space Harrier and 720. One ove these day I might have one, or all. Plus I got to fine that Jaguar kiosk, you know that would look amazing for the show in the background.

Sad, very sad! The retromarket has reached a certain size and that is the moment, the locusts enter the scene.

It is the same situation with the actual Atari. They had made a mess with Jeff Minters TxK several years ago. They claimed that Minter had illegally used the code of T2K for Jaguar for that PSV game. So Minter had stopped any activity for a PS4-Translation of TxK.

    Sad, very sad!

TeddyGermany got a reaction from Lost Dragon in Forbidden Forest - C64 games could be scary!
Caverns of Khafka for C64 and A8 are completely different games. On C64 the level scrolls very groggy and the controls are sloppy. Sometimes your sprite falls flat and you loose a life without having a clue why. But the music is awesome and creates a superbe atmosphere. So you stay tuned.

On A8 the cavern is build on one screen and the controls should be more accurate. But i also haven't seen that version until now.

This is from my old house, so this pic is over 10 years old, but here it is.

I built the cabinet and found a TV with super video input. I have it connected to a power outlet that turns on when it senses another machine turn on. And I have the computer inside (still running Windows 98!!!) run off that plug and set to turn on when a key is pressed. I bought the control panel from SlikStik. So when I press any button on the panel, the computer turns on which triggers the TV to come on. It's magic! I have a shortcut on my desktop to turn off the computer, so I track ball to that, double tap it and the whole thing shuts off. I love it. Just played it with a buddy last weekend while cranking 80s tunes and finishing off a bottle of Jack. Fun times.
