  2. FYI, I just received some kind words regarding my review from "Throwback Games" on my YT channel. Having that validation feels great...
  3. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by Gray Defender for anyone using a Commodore 64.
  4. With the NBA finals having just started, I thought I would post my JAM IT review for the Commodore 64. It's only two years late...
  5. Thanks for posting the audio version. I saw the web/print version yesterday. I really don't think ET is a total failure as a video game, but I guess I am in the minority. I liked it back in the 80s and after I found out it was coded from concept to release in 5 weeks, I was even more impressed with the game. Though I agree the pits are problematic.
  6. Wow, that really brings to light the stark differences between the two versions. I enjoyed the text commentary, great video!
  7. I agree these labels are awesome, I bought a few sets and did a video on them a while back. I believe they enhance their value, they do at least to me.
  8. Looks like a neat little platformer/puzzler. Do you have a demo with sound?
  9. Thank you. I wasn't even sure what kind of computer that was until I looked online. It looks sort of like a Commodore Pet with a built in tape drive and they are pretty expensive now if you can find them. There is one currently listed on ebay for over $500.
  10. Hi everyone, I recently purchased the game Minesnake by a company called Sharpworks. I like snake style games and I thought I would support the developer. The problem is, I thought it was for the Commodore 64, but it is instead for the Sharp MZ80-A. I wasn't even drunk, to the best of my knowledge, lol, I don't drink... It is in a cassette tape format. I would like to offer it up to any Atari IO users who would like me to send it to them for free in the US, so that I can get it into the hands of someone who can actually appreciate it. If anyone would like it send me a PM and I will send it to you.
  11. It really does. I know I've only just scratched the surface so far. Can't wait to play again and get further into it.
  12. I recently picked up the Intellivision game board for Mystic Castle from David Harley. In this video I demonstrate what to do with the game board and have a little bit of terrible game play of Mystic Castle. I also show off Mark Thompson's website where you can pick up some homebrew manuals+overlays.
  13. Thank you, I love it. I also like how my C64 Ultimate 2+ matches the red color. For a while there were some available on ebay. I looked tonight and found a few white ones still available. 14. These are just a few projects and interesting Kickstarters and things going on right now in the retro community.
  15. Thanks for watching Mr SQL. Yeah it is pretty cool playing around with the Wimodem and "dialing" up those BBS's just like in the old days. As for the C64c housing, it was a kickstarter a while back. They had a few different colors and it was also a fun little project to work on.
  16. First off, welcome to Atari IO! I for one would love to see this game ported to the handheld atari unit.
  17. Just listened to episode 6, "Jr. Pac-Man", and I loved the April fools story you told, so good. I was wondering was Albert in on the joke? Keep up the good work.
  18. Welcome Bill! I don't know maybe I am the only one, but I am waiting for another Macgyver update, lol. I enjoy your show!
  19. I made a quick video related to my visit.
  20. Okay finally dusted off my 7800 and put in Combat 1990 to test it out. This is my two cents. For a little background, I hold the original 1977 Atari Combat in high regards, really, I believe, sort of a masterpiece for it's time, in that it had so many variations all stuffed into a 2k cartridge and was fun, assuming you had two people playing. Fast forward to 1990 this prototype, I assume it's a prototype, because it does not feel complete to me. The spirit of the game is there, the game play mechanic, the movement, firing, etc, however with a few important differences. I really miss the background motor/tank sound for one. That's a big one. Right away I tried the game select button looking for different game variations, where are they? What if I want to play as a b1 bomber or a f15, or something. On the positive side I like that you can move backwards and the additions of shields is nice. I like the additional tanks in the play field which makes the game playable as a single player. Cooperative game play is also a nice bonus. I do like the score font, although on my TV it was hard to discern. I believe with some additional work / polish and adding a few additional game variations could make this a much better game. Having said that, until you mentioned it, I had never heard of it. This is another reason why I enjoy listening to your show. Keep up the good work! Glenn
  21. The dauber effect is real. I bought one and will post my feed back as soon as I play it.
  22. This is my review of the WiModem. Let's dial up a few BBS's and go back to the 80's.
  23. Nice... I was there Sunday. Never seen so many machines in one place...
