OPENING UP BOXES OF ATARI CUSTOMER RETURNS
Jinroh replied to Video 61's topic in Atari History Discussion
Very cool Lance! This is like opening up the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark! π Thank you for sharing! Very interesting how people just returned everything to Atari. Though I am sure consumers today are just still as clueless, even with the information age in full swing. π -
Ah sorry the first post was the most up to date, that everything is gone for now until I find some more in storage. π
-
Yes very good mix. I did not know there was a Flash Gordon game.

Haha, from what you told me, that was his favorite hobby. π -

Sorry to hear about Airshack. π I do not think I ever remember ever interacting with him, but I hate to see any member of the community leave us. π Stay healthy as best as you can everyone, we all seem to be not a springs chicken anymore. I want us to have more Atari years together. β€οΈ

Hands-On With 7 Atari Rarities & Prototypes

Very interesting. Cool that they repurposed them to Jaguar controllers, though I guess that makes sense to penny pinching Jack. π I like the colour scheme though, for the ST/Falcon version. -
In 6th Grade I Wrote My Own Atari Strategy Guide. Here it is:
Jinroh replied to Justin's topic in Atari 7800
Very cool guide @Justin. π Thank you for sharing it! I did not have a 7800, we upgraded from the 2600 to an NES at Christmas in 1988, so it was fun to see your reactions to the games on the 7800 ground floor at the time. π -
Really neat looking game Peter, as usual. π I like that you can stop, that always killed me in Asteroids type games when I could not keep myself from slamming into a hazard. π A lot of things going on, it will be a lot of fun to blast all those rocks and such.
-
Very cool! I heard you guys had a bunch in the hopper. Surround'em will be loads of fun on the 5200. π

Thank you @Justin! It should be good now for a forever permalink, if they mess it up again Iβll attach it here too. :) -
Go download and play Carrot Kingdomβ’ for Atari 2600!
Jinroh replied to Jinroh's topic in Atari 2600
The company managing the website messed it up, and they are taking forever to fix it, but in the meantime, the updated link in the original post works now. β€οΈ -
Carrot Kingdomβ’ was released for free at Christmas time, but I do not think the word spread very far. Everyone should be able to play it, and now they can! Go download and play. π Enjoy friends! β€οΈ http://carrotkingdom.net/Downloads/

I can think of a few over the years, but probably the most impactful to me was Super Mario 64. Nintendo and SGI packing so much hardware for $199 and Mario running silky smooth in huge environments was and still is, amazing! I was no stranger to 3D games at the time, but everything was so vibrant, smooth, and colourful compared to anything else.

Secretum Labyrinth: Dark Castles (WIP first look)

Really cool Peter! I was wondering what you and Lance were cooking up with this! π I dig the music, the levels are expansive with lots of enemies, it will be another killer release! π -

Yes it is a really fun spin on Zoo Keeper. π I was never a big fan of the arcade, but the version Lance and Peter came up with is really engaging. π -
Yes very nice. Good use for the graphical detail of the Jaguar. π

Glad to see Popeye getting a lot of love. π Darryl put a lot of work into it. He has a real passion for that game. I have not seen him in person for some years now, especially since I am mostly a shut in now due to my health. A funny story though is this: He got a Popeye arcade cabinet some years ago, he was into collecting arcade cabinets. After he got that Popeye cabinet, one time when I was over at his house a few years ago (we used to work at the same company and became friends years before that), he brought out all the Popeye ports and went over all the ways they were inferior to the Arcade original. He was very thorough. π He then proceeded to do the same for Donkey Kong and then Mario Bros. which he is also passionate about. I came over to hang out, but got taken to school. π

Very clever that is really handy for customers to use it very turn key. π I luckily never had any problem with my power supply. π So I thought it was very great from the first time using it. π Such a handy device. Yes, I use on my Mega STe exclusively. π The performance is very great, and I can run every program perfectly. I have had no problems. π It works perfectly for loading large programs like SCUMMVM-Lite and Wolfenstein 3D port.
