There are moments of magic in this game...like when you get the man bouncing on the barriers such that he clears out a whole load of balloons. You'll note too, it won't play the clearout jingle until after the man is heading back down in order to startle you a bit.
I will never know that life lol, so I will live vicariously through you!

Thank you all for your shoutouts, and thanks to @Justinfor continuing to host this monthly series.
(In an ironic twist, the EverythingC64 High Score Challenge for May is Pengo by Colosoftware. One massive downside to that version is that the difficulty level does not increase as you progress, so it becomes an endurance test.)

I found the game on this site: https://www.retrogames.cc/arcade-games/pengo-set-2.html
It can be played with the keyboard or with controllers. Is this an acceptable way to play it? I think we just need to know the settings because it has difficulty options and when to earn lives (score). Does anyone know the default settings for the arcade game?
I mentioned the same link in last month's thread lol. IIRC, that site has several versions of Pengo and I was confused as to which version to play.

I've never seen this one, either. What's the source for it? Some issues with it that make me think it's either not from Atari, or not shown in the U.S., or not real:
As was pointed out, the screenshot on the TV is of Pitfall, which would rule it out from coming directly from Atari. Atari never hyphenated Atari Club, and the address shown (1265 Borregas Ave) was Atari's headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA. The ad mentions filling out the form to join the club, but doesn't mentioned the city, state, or zip code. The early Atari Age newsletters mention the Atari Game Club and the club and the newsletter were based in Half Moon Bay, CA. The Atari Age magazine talks about the Atari Club (no hyphen) and was based in Philadelphia, PA. Galaxian was released in March 1983 and was the newest game of all the others mentioned (Asteroids, Vanguard, Ms. Pac-Man, Centipede), so if this ad is real and was published somewhere, it likely would have been sometime in early 1983.
I'm catching up on this thread & noticed this ad. I just performed an image search and it is not real. It turns out this was submitted to a creative event on Reddit called PsBattles Live. Here's the Reddit post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/psbattleslive/comments/qc54ef/battle_round_3_atari_2600/I apologized if I missed a previous post explaining that particular image. I'm still waking up lol.

The Internet Archive (!) has Pengo for MAME:
https://archive.org/details/arcade_pengo#
The downside is that you're limited to using the keyboard.
Here's my run - 25,060. I managed to line up the diamonds twice, which is 10,000 points each.

Thank you once again for kind words, @Justin! Also, congratulations to all of the participants!
I don't have MAME installed on my MacBook. However, I am proposing an alternative method for playing the arcade version of Pengo via retrogames.cc. (There are several versions, though; I'm sure the bootleg version would be excluded.)

I found this link and I believe it is the correct ROM. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Congratulations to @greenweenand to all of the participants!
I'm familiar with Beef Drop, though I have not played it. I'll give it go at some point; I was never good at BurgerTime. I'm also well into Bagman Strikes Back for the EverythingC64 High Score Challenge.

This may be part of the new HighScore, based on a retweet from the HighScore Twitter feed about two hours ago:
https://ext.store/They also launched on Product Hunt back on January 14.

That's it. I'm gently putting the controller down and walking away. Go get 'em @RickR!
I'm also throwing up the white flag because it's become too frustrating for me. I continue to lose balls in every way imaginable despite the tips posted in this thread. I don't need a game's mechanics to keep my scores low; I can stink all by myself lol.

There was also the Frogger game show on Peacock a year or two ago. I was surprised to see this, and then we didn't really talk about it at all in the forums:
I subscribe to Peacock and I can honestly say that I have NEVER SEEN THIS TRAILER anywhere on that app.

I also feel like the flippers don't really offer any satisfying power. They are like slow wet noodles.
BUT these are very minor nitpicks. I think the game is excellent. This version is visually impressive and holds up when compared to the other versions (Apple II, C64).

Here's my humble submission: 125,730. I played on Stella 6.7 for Mac OS.
This is one heck of a port, and I absolutely suck at it lol. The ONLY reason I posted 125K is because I fluked my way into getting the 2x multiplier. I say that because I continue find new ways to lose a ball as soon as I hit the plunger. I just can't get the timing on the flippers or anything. So, in summation: Damn good port, but I truly stink.

I booted up my VCS and discovered that Circus Atari is free! Next, I will need to adjust the settings on my Classic Controller.
