  1. Well, there's some sad and good news, but I hope I caught it in time. It's about my cat. She has kidney failure. But, the good news is I think I got her to the vet in time. She's not out of the woods yet, but she is feeling better from this morning. I took her to the vet, and she is feeling better after the visit. She was dehydrated and hungry (she wouldn't eat because of the kidney damage), but the vet gave her fluids and a appetite enhancer. She perked up. She is eating again and feeling better. I need to take her in Monday morning for a stay in the animal hospital for two days. I think, though, I caught it in time. She is eating and feeling OK at the moment. She needs kidney dialysis (diuresis), but I can help her with that. By the way, she's 16-17 years old, so she's elderly.

I want to extend her happy life a little more. So, that is my good news for the day. I have faith she will pull through. Thanks.

  2. Well, I don't use a C64, but I use a 1050 disk drive with an XEGS and a 130XE computer. So, either way, I still use floppies and still get them. If I had a C64, however, I would probably use a floppy drive with it. I like retro devices, and I would stick with that at first. But, I also use an SD drive and also would with a Commodore device. It would be fun, though, to get a Commodore computer like that and mess around with it. I do have an Amiga 2000 computer that needs refurbishing, though. It also needs a keyboard and mouse. That would be fun to use as well. Anyway, thanks for letting me share.

Oh bummer, sorry it gives you a scrambled display.

Thanks. I wonder if it is one of three things:

    • May need possible re-capping of motherboard.
    • Video shifter may be damaged.
    • May need new power supply.

Or, it's some other issue I don't know about. Since, I am not a repair expert, I am only guessing here. But, it's a bummer, though I can live with it for now. I will eventually find a fix for it, I am sure. It could be something very minor or not. I just don't know.

MegaSTe has a video out port IIRC, but I never used it, but I think it is RF maybe.

I think you are right. I already have a composite monitor cable for mine. I think it utilizes both RF and composite video on the same computer because there is a TV port on the back of it. It can also utilize stereo audio because it has audio L and R on the back of the computer. So, it's pretty versatile. I just looked at the back of my MegaSTE and found out. The MegaSTE really is a cool unit, but I think mine needs some repairs because the video looks scrambled on the screen. That just happened when I moved into my new place a few months ago. But, it still works otherwise.

Did anyone have one of these?  I still have mine!  It has a Scooby Doo short movie!

I have had Fisher-Price Movie Viewers that had film cartridges you could put into the viewer. They had Mickey's Trailer, Cinderella, and even a film cartridge of the Disney cult classic The Black Hole. I think I still have mine, but haven't seen it in a while. However, some mook may have stolen it, too. I don't know. Thank God for my Atari collection, which is intact.
