Japanese hobby programmer "INUFUTO" has not only made 16 homebrew titles for the Atari 7800 in about a year and a half, he has ported these games to over 40 systems during that same time. An impressive feat! Atari7800Forever.com has nearly reviewed every game cartridge released for the Prosystem, and these little gems are some of the most difficult to find: A Star Wars shooter that is a hack of Asteroids for the 7800 called "Kessel Attack", a weird and trippy Choose Your Own Adventure style book cart entitled "Journey of Snail", a 2 in 1 Graphical hack of Double Dragon and Rampage on one cart, and a hack of the homebrew Scramble that attempts to turn it into it's sequel, "Super Cobra". Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, he earned an Emmy and two Golden Globes in his career. 
 
 
 

 

I haven't been here in way too long.  Unfortunately, things have not been well.

The person who introduced me to the joy of the Atari 2600, my mother, passed away on September 9th, 2021 at the age of 71.

She will be forever remembered as the reason I love Atari, but even moreso as a loving mother to me.

I love you, mom.

Shaved this morning, bushy beard gone for now, should be back any....minute....😬

I received email from AtariAge yesterday that my Last Chance orders have shipped! They shipped in two boxes and USPS is supposed to deliver one of them tomorrow. The other is coming via UPS.
I placed three orders last June and July. I always believed it would take a long time for Al to fulfill the orders. My dream was getting them by Christmas last year, but I always figured a more realistic target would be June. So in my mind, they're right on time 🙂 I know many people have been anxious and a little upset with Al on how these orders have been handled.

I apologize for the radio silence but I had to leave town due to an emergency. No show tomorrow as a result. Back in a few weeks. I hope to see you then!

Short project of the day -- a homemade composite cable.  I cut the wire off a TI-99/4A RF box (which was broken) and cut a composite cableset in half and BOOM -- a composite cable that will work for TI-99/4A, Atari XL/XE, or Commodore VIC-20/64. 
There was some cursing involved.  Twisting 4 ground wires together and getting a good solder on them is TOUGH man.
