masteries got a reaction from DegasElite in FS: Low Cost high performance Hard Disk unit for Atari ST/E
Excuse me the delay...
I understand your worries,
Due to the low size and low weight; the envelope is small and I declare these with a value of 15€
However, with this price I can't asume your nation customs taxes, but many do not tax very small declares value such this device
Are you ready to acquire one of these?

Yes, its very easy due to the deployed SD card image is readable under your Windows or Linux machine, as well in your Atari ST/E at once 🙂
You only need to use a SD card reader in the PC; its a FAT16 formatted card
As well, with the tracking number message I provide ready to use SD card images
Are you ready to acquire one of these?

If you use these devices for playing... with a hard disk you can save the game state at any moment, in order to continue playing when you want; for almost any game.
A feature hard to accomplish in a Gotek, due to Gotek is only a floppy replacement, with the limitations of floppy disk size.
There is a video of this feature of hard disk adapted games:

For your 4MB STE, instead use floppies, its much better to use a low cost high performance hard disk unit;
as well, the SD card is compatible with Atari ST/E and a PC at same time, the format is FAT16 🙂

Yes, this simple addon is the solution for the power source compatibility problem.
As well, anyone with the minimal needed tools can add this USB cable,
in order to use any 5 volts power source 🙂
(current delivered units have this power cable)

masteries reacted to Jinroh in Metal Slug clone on Atari STE - First big attempt
Very great work! I will want to check this out. 🙂
I would love to get one of your good controllers for this too when I can afford one.
Really cool to see you pushing the STe. I will never be able to get a Falcon now 😢, so glad the STe can still play with the big brothers. 😄

masteries got a reaction from Jinroh in A Look At JUNGLE JERRY for Atari 8-bit - Work In Progress
There are a huge amount of sprites at once,
As well, its a very promising game for Atari 8 bits computer,
where sadly, most of the commercial games (from 80´s) are pretty simple.

Greetings,
The complete demo of stage 1 is availabe there:
https://masteries.itch.io/
for Atari STE and MegaDrive/Genesis (Genesis version is more "beta" than STE, its very difficult to deal with the very size limited video RAM of the console, when you put on screen a very high detailed scenario and many sprites).
As well, for modern STE times, you will need a low cost high performance hard disk device.

masteries got a reaction from RickR in Low Cost Fujinet v1.6 - Includes USB and Coleco Adam hardware components
Adjusted to 59€
Its very hard to adjust more, due to it needs a lot of hand made work,
Thanks for consider It,
For C64, it uses a DB15 to DIN 6 cable

masteries got a reaction from RickR in Low Cost Fujinet v1.6 - Includes USB and Coleco Adam hardware components
Greetings,
I finished a batch of my minimalistic and Low Cost General Purpose Fujinet v1.6
These are called general purpose, due to the interface its not only dedicated to Atari 8 bits computers;
the unit is detachable, a DB15 to SIO, DB15 to DIN6, DB15 to RJ12, DB15 to DB19...
allows you to connect the Fujinet v1.6 to each supported (currently or future) computer such Atari 8 bits - Commodore 64 - Coleco Adam - Apple II
The unit includes all the hardware elements of Fujinet v1.6, also the Coleco Adam interface components.
Via jumpers, you can select the desired operation, if Atari 8 bits SIO (C64 as well) or if you desire Coleco Adam Interface.
As well, the unit can be powered externally, or via the SIO interface. There is a jumper to change this selection.
The USB interface is included, in order to update the device.
ESP32 WROVER with 16 MB flash and 8 MB PSRAM
A photograph:
A video using the device in an Atari 65XE:
Price of an unit is 59€ (comes with an Atari SIO cable); (original Fujinet cost around 80€)
each additional cable such C64 - Coleco Adam - Apple II takes 8€ per cable
plus 6€ of tracked shipment to Spain, or 9€ for Europe, or 10€ for USA, or 11€ for rest of the world.

masteries got a reaction from Portaro in Metal Slug port from Atari STE to MegaDrive / Genesis
This Metal Slug port is a conversion from my own Metal Slug port for Atari STE computer
Mainly all the game engine is being ported from Atari STE to MegaDrive / Genesis.
A video:
Audio playback is 100% based on digital samples, using our custom made sound driver that provides 3 channels mixed at 16 KHz.
Samples are compressed, in order to save ROM space, and Real-Time decompressed using the Z80 processor.
Currently, the same samples and graphics from the Atari STE version takes only 1 MB of MegaDrive / Genesis ROM space,
while the STE version takes 3.6 MB
There is a high detailed background composed of up to 8600 tiles, and a parallax background.
Background uses up to 61 different colours. Custom MegaDrive / Genesis tools are made to create map graphics data,
and to provide colouring to the map tiles.
Many things are still pending to be ported to MegaDrive / Genesis,
Stay tuned!
