The 5200’s native controllers are prone to failure, and they hurt your hands when used as intended.
The fact that you have to buy a cable from Greece and hook up another consoles controllers, though worthwhile, is a giant kludge inconvenience.

Many players have abandoned this console due to the controllers. I’ve rebuilt two myself. They are fully functional yet horrible. Honestly, I don’t see how these controllers got past play testing at Atari.

If you want my honest opinion, I believe << CLASSIC 99 >> is the BEST emulator for the PC.  It comes with everything, operates with nearly zero instruction time and can even be used to call the BBS'es.

    Example...

So unacceptably loud. What on earth were they thinking at TI? If only they had designed the PEB as a Rev2 true 16-bit computer with CPU inside and an external keyboard.
Don't even get me started on the fire-hose issue. Total kludge design.

Two VERY worthy mods.  The original fan almost makes one feel like they are on the flight line of a military base.

I understand, I use my multicart for most things too, but every once in a while a REALLY COOL game comes down the pike that begs for it's own cartridge.  The last one I made might be familiar to you...

I don't know how long I'll be able to sustain a twice monthly FOCUS on individual games, but I thought I'd give it a try since @RickR likes the idea.  So for the last half of this month the focus will be on a game written by our very own @Airshack!

No. Multicarts have replaced my cartridge collections on all systems. I enjoy playing on original hardware but dislike having boxes full of carts.

This is interesting to me as I’ve recently acquired a big box Silent Service II for the Atari ST.

This appears to be a Silent Service clone, no?
Wondering which version it’s on-par with?

    Awesome video Omega!
