First game. 23,390 on a modern VCS via Retroarch with a Stadia controller.

32,620. This game is a real bullet hell in Expert mode.

It always amazes me how my score improves with more game time. I know that's probably an obvious thing, but as a kid and even when I was older, that's not something I observed about myself. This is only my third time playing Xevious for the high score challenge, and I jumped from 50k to 80k. I spent a couple of minutes playing the 7800 Xevious a few years ago, and that's been the totality of my 7800 Xevious experience. Heck, I've logged more time on the coin-op Xevious.
This ol' 🧠 still got something left in the tank it would seem 😂 Dare I dream of breaking 100k?

Congratulations to this month's High Score Squad winner @RickR for an epic standing in our Circus Atari Squad Challenge! Longtime Squad Member RickR takes the top spot this month with an outstanding score of 5,043 points. WAY TO GO RICK! "The Mayor" @greenween is our runner up winner for this month, taking 2nd Place with an excellent 3,320 points! VCS guru @Sabertooth takes the 3rd spot on the board with an impressive score of 2,956 points, all while juggling hosting and competing in the Club VCS Recharged Squad Challenge for Cash Cow DX!. Well done Sabertooth, and thank you! @Justin I participated this month and discovered a new appreciation for this early 2600 classic, and managed to get my score up to 1,325 points, taking 4th Place. @Marco1019 takes 5th Place with 535 points, and @TrekMD rounds things out in 6th with 162 points.
As always I'd like to encourage @RickR to  post his high score on the Scoreboard, and let's make sure this Challenge continues on! Congratulations once again to Rick on his big win, and I'd like to thank Rick for nominating this very fun and often overlooked game!

It is hard to tell.  "a" = faster moving clowns.  But "b" can move just as fast.  The game cheats a bit and speeds up the clowns the longer you stay alive.
