    SkiFree

An interesting article about SkiFree is here: https://www.pcgamer.com/remembering-skifree-and-the-yeti-that-still-haunts-our-dreams/

    SkiFree

Who remembers SkiFree from the old Windows Game Packs when Windows first came out? Well, the source code has been found and compiled for our modern computers. Grab it here: https://ski.ihoc.net/#download Don't let the yeti get you!
  3. I agree completely. I spent a lot of time with Atari 8-bit "RoF" and loved it. The first time that alien jumped up, I jumped out of my skin. Sometimes I'll load up the game on Atari or C64 just to hear the music.
  4. It's in the beta stages, but look at how nice it looks! Plus, it really doesn't mess with the looks and sounds of the classic game. The developer's website with download links (there are versions for Windows/Mac/Linux) : https://www.lsdwa.com/projects/fractalus/
  5. I haven't looked in a while, but isn't it some weird voltage on the power brick for the INTV2? Like 14.8 volts or something crazy like that? If a 5200 brick works, I think I may go ahead and do that. Thanks for that tip! Oh, and aren't there two different 5200 power brick types (4 vs 2 port)? And nice to know on the Console5 fix for the power button. It's a shame that's needed. I always end up counting to 5 Mississippi's in my head and STILL get the timing wrong. I'll check that out.
  6. That's the cart that TredMD says is too tall to fit in his SKelley shell. I'm trying to do the same thing for my Spudster's Revenge but the chip on it is too tall. I wonder if anyone has made a modified cart shell that is taller.
  7. I'm so new to the platform, so I've been relying on @Sabertooth, @TrekMD, and @Justin , who have been most helpful. A secondary source of reviews that I trust is the videogamecritic website: Right now, I'm trying to avoid buying any more Jaguar carts and just wait for a GameDrive to become available.
  8. Yes. If you could measure both carts (the Kopp cart and the Spudster) so I would know the additional space needed.
  9. I'd rank them like this: Sears Tele-Games version - it has the detachable controllers. Compatible with INTV2 controllers Orig version INTV 2 You nailed it with the comparison to the Atari 2600jr. The INTV2 is smaller and looks nice. In addition to the limitations others mentioned, it also has a horrible on/off/reset combo button (truly awful), and that gigantic external power brick will cover several plugs on a power strip. BUT the detachable controllers are a huge plus. If you have the Intellivision Flashback, you can buy a converter cable and use those controllers on the Sears or INTV2. They are a big improvement! And if you get a LTO Flash (highly recommended), that eliminates the BIOS issue on INTV2 that locks out some coleco games. FYI - I have a Sears unit and also an INTV2. The INTV2 with LTO Flash (and using a Flashback controller) has become my GO-TO system for Intellivision. Mostly because it doesn't take up much space. One great thing about collecting for Intellivision in general -- the games are not expensive and plentiful. It has been a lot of fun for me.
  10. This is the one I printed. I suppose I could try adding a piece of cardboard to the top of my Kopp cart chip and see if it still fits. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4756848
  11. Yes, and probably. Do you have specifics on the height?
  12. I 3D printed a case for mine, and it works nicely.
  13. I picked up a curiosity today - Comerica Freedom Stick, a SMS/Atari compatible wireless (infrared) controller.
  14. I can share some tips: Keep your ship towards the left edge of the screen. Thar be less bullets to dodge over there because most of the enemies move left to right. Don't move a lot. If your ship is covering the entire range of the screen, I've found you are going to get in trouble. Getting stuck on the right edge unable to move right is sure death. On those levels with the zigzag enemies, carve a path and then shoot bites from there. And it's OK to lose lives on these levels. They get replenished every 10k. DO NOT lose lives on the levels with enemies that just move left to right only. That's where you build up a stash of extra lives.
  15. It's on Tubi as well: https://tubitv.com/movies/513071/what-we-left-behind-looking-back-at-star-trek-deep-space-nine I know we watched it on some other service last year....maybe AppleTV or Netflix? I honestly can't remember. But check whatever streaming service you have, you might find it.
  16. I've seen it, and I agree -- excellent. A very good recommendation.
  17. We actually bought a couple of these from Legoland (in California) when my kids were young. They work! I honestly wanted to use one to disassemble the mini-city at the park. Instead, I decided to get in a fight with the Lego pizza guy. In any case, I can't ever go back.
  18. If only they'd have done Pac-Man right....
  19. I'm pretty sure Pac-Man is the all-time sales leader for the 2600. That one is a killer app too.
  20. According to what I've read, it was Ray Kassar who suggested the Space Invaders license/port. If so, he deserves a lot of credit. He made a lot of horrible decisions and probably wasn't the right guy to run Atari...but that one was a home run.
