We really need people to understand that it's all about that nerd cred.  And for everyone -- it's about having fun, sharing tips, and getting better at the game.  Post your score -- even if it isn't "top".  And if you've never tried the game before -- even better.  A perfect opportunity to try a great game.

I meant to post more tips for this game.  I found that if I kept my eyes focused on the middle of the screen, I could track the clowns a lot better.  Do not let your eye go up into the balloons, as there is too much going on up there.  Too many distractions.  Focus on the middle and keep the trampoline tracking the clown the whole time.  It's really hard, since it takes so long to rack up points in this game.  Takes a lot of concentration.

Great score Chas. I tried a few more times, but ended up in the 7,000 range.

And also -- GOOD LUCK to everyone on that totally awesome raffle.  Circus Atari is a great boxed game to have.  The cover art is a little weird, but the purple makes it SWEET.

I totally understand too Atarileaf.  I've been downsizing my collection too (not to the extent you have....yet).

I do hope you come back here often to try out the games on the High Score Squad.  Those can be done via emulation, and it's really fun to play the game with the other users here to get tips and such.  It feels really good to me to really focus and play the games instead of being out on the hunt for more stuff to buy.  I hope you'll give it a shot.

Willie -- your videos are truly great.  Don't you go downsizing now!

I think the most 7800 I saw was at PRGE in 2016 because the guys from GCC were there and talked all the stuff that was planned for the console when it was meant to be launched.  The console would have been a game changer at the time if things had gone that way.  I do agree that the Atari Age booth is probably where you see most of the 7800 action and that's because of the consoles there to play.

It's the same deal at Portland Retro Gaming Expo.  The 7800 has never had a big presence, and it's diminishing over time.  A lot of the older systems are the same.  2600 stuff, for example, is no longer plentiful.  And the 2600 stuff they do put out for shows is dirt cheap, but no one buys it.

The AtariAge booth is usually the one place where the 7800 really shines.  And their secret is to have systems out to play and a lot of new games to play and buy.

I had the pleasure of playing Draconian at a gaming show, and I was astounded.  Especially the speech.  Holy moly, it's even more impressive than the homebrew version of Bosconian for the Atari 8-bit computers.

And I'm glad you are here too.

I acquired one a month or so ago from a work mate and I really like it. I find the RF to be funny in these units. It's either terrible or perfect. Luckily my latest one falls into the latter category.

Welcome to our 40th Squad Challenge! Ice Climber is one of the earliest releases for the NES and is a fun and interesting climbing game. I've always enjoyed the early NES games for their simplicity. We're going with a mellow game during our site upgrade to keep things easy. Enjoy!

The stand is only about 35 miles away from me. Which doesn't sound all that bad. Honestly id have to take the 91 freeway over there. That's like one of the nation's worst freeways. It'll probably take like 2.5 hours round trip.

Working a bit more in the game room again.

Here's the best I've been able to get, 3'222. Played on my 7800 with paddles.  I have to say this game is going in my top 10 of 2600 games. Very fun, great choice for the high score challenge.
