Swordquest is just game and box, Atlantis is complete with catalog and mailer.

Don't like the Flashback 1 controllers? Well, you'll hate the real 7800 controllers then. They are just a larger version of the flashback ones.

Thanks! The Atari powers up fine, I need to get the RF hooked up and at least test it with a 2600 game.

Arenafoot reacted to Atari Adventure Square in Atari National Pac Man Day is April 3rd (1982)!
Warms the token-filled cockles of my arcader heart to see this.
Pac-Man changed the playfield from visual and sound design standpoint when it emerged onto the scene.
That simple, yet effective constant-nibbler avatar, those bright colors in a suave, loungey-chic dark blue maze, that waka...
Irrestible then and now.
Truly deserving of celebration.
I hope today's fans get to play a cabinet version to get that immersive arcade feel.
Nothing beats playing this with an actual mounted joystick.

Arenafoot reacted to Justin in Kay-Bee Memories
Thinking back to good times at Kay-Bee Toy Stores in the mall. My first Atari came from Sears, but almost every game I ever bought for Atari, Nintendo, all the way up through Dreamcast, most often came from Kay-Bee in our local mall. It's always fun to share these memories this time of year. Hope you guys have some fond Kay-Bee memories too!

Arenafoot reacted to nosweargamer in Coleco Chameleon (formerly Retro VGS)
If they can pull off Neo Geo style games, that might be their lifesaver. The Neo Geo had some great looking games and the arcade system lasted a long time based on their strong 2D games. Neo Geo may have the best 2D retro graphics out there. And it would be something that isn't seen as much in the homebrew scene. But of course, at the $150 price point, they will need several great games to sell the system. So far, the first game looks like something that could easily be done on the Master System, so something with more oomph would help.
The only other thing I can think of that could move the system is if you could somehow license popular series like Contra, Castlevania and Double Dragon and bring out new 8-bit and 16 bit style games based on those properties. Of course, this may not be possible financially, but you never know.

That's not a problem. Batari BASIC seems quite intuitive anyway, it seems. I can go from there. Thanks again.

Arenafoot reacted to Yo-Yo in Atari National Pac Man Day is April 3rd (1982)!
Here's what Kotaku had to say, kinda snide but never the less:
Thirty [three] Years ago today, Atari had the balls to proclaim an entire day, hoping to lift its iconic Pac-Man character alongside the likes of other people who have their own day. Like, you know, Martin Luther King. And Jesus.
The fact it was only celebrated by video game fans and Atari employees for that one year says a lot about their efforts, but hey, you've got to at least commend them for thinking big with their PR.
Atari National PAC-MAN Day was minted to celebrate the home console release of the arcade classic. To Atari's credit, they actually put on a bit of a show, holding public events at certain locations with things like competitions and the chance for kids to shake hands with a man dressed in an uncomfortable Pac-Man outfit.

Description:
Intellivision & Colecovision UNBOXINGS !
Finally received the Pre-Order I had made several months ago! Though tempted to cancel due to some details that later came to light I decided to just wait it out and today I received both of the latest Flashback units from AtGames. These were purchased online from ToyR'Us in the USA and shipped to me here in Canada via iParcels (who seem to have done a fine job overall) I give lots of narration and details so please watch and listen and see for yourselves exactly what you can expect should you decide to pick either of these up. These units were about $40 USD (corrected from my video commented) plus an additional $35 to have both units shipped to my address. I mention both pros and cons of these systems as well should you be interested in the cables/adapters to make the Intellivision Flashback controllers compatible with the original console Buy the Flashback Controller Adapter Here:[/size]
