Me too. $60 would seem a bit steep to me. Can get a nice original for the same or less.

I remember those, but have never owned one.  I think they are totally awesome!  If they make new ones, I'll be all over that.

I have a meager collection of the old Mattel Electronics handheld games.  Basketball, baseball, football, etc.

I've never held one nor used one.............it seems to me that the fire buttons are too low down on the controller to be effective. Is it similar to the NES gamepad controller?

Does anyone else have one of these?  Apparently, they came with the European version of the 7800.  I got this one from Ebay a few years ago, but it was broken.  I finally opened it up this weekend, and it turned out to be a bad wire.  I had a standard 7800 controller with a broken shaft...so grabbed the wire out of that one and transplanted it into the gamepad.  It involved some cutting and soldering.  The standard controller uses slide on clips for the wires, but the gamepad uses soldered connections.  Gamepad wiring was really cheap -- low gauge.

Now it works perfectly, and I'll say, it's a big improvement over the standard controller.  It's a shame these weren't standard in the USA.  I've heard bad comments about the gamepad, but it works really well if you ask me.  Buttons are a little squishy, but no big deal.

Here's another good one. This time a little later, Summer 2001. Notice the Sega Dreamcast Sega Sports bundle, the Nintendo 64 controllers, the PS2 systems in the blue boxes and the Gran Turismo 3 bundle in the red, the silver-boxed PSone systems, and the GameBoy Advances.

I haven't picked this one up yet. The videos online always impressed me.

If you haven't checked them out, the B&C Computervisions (myatari on eBay) protos of Barkley Shut Up & Jam and Brett Hull NHL Hockey seem pretty complete. Space War 2000 is rough but playable. It shows a lot of potential.

I did put down my $10 for a reserve copy of Arena Football '95 back in 1994...... for the $10 I was to get $5 off final price of game, $25 off the console, and a mini AFL football. V Real Interactive had delays in making the game and somewhere between '94-'95 they sent me a letter with 2 AFL footballs saying that they were near completion. They folded shortly after that.....no game ever made. This is a prototype - unfinished version of the game. Unfortunately.........

I bought this prototype game and brought it with me to the 2014 Houston ArcadeExpo to play.

I played a couple of times early Friday morning......its not a complete (playable) game. To which I was really disappointed in it. The graphics were great.....only 2 of the AFL helmet colors in the menu were correct - all of the others were white with the correct logo on them (as if they didn't finish that part), no matter which home team you chose, it was always the "Albany Firebirds" field (endzones), you could call the play but had no control of any players (similar to the old NFL Head Coach for PS2 or Xbox), etc etc
I did shoot some video of the game play - I have to review it to see if I had the camera positioned just right to see it.

The guy who actually brought the Jaguar to the show had Tempest 2000 along with a rotary modified controller. I did enjoy the Tempest 2000 with that modified controller!!!
