  1. Congrats to @RickR for getting the Gold Key! The Gold Key is the highest rank a Member can achieve in Atari I/O. It’s taken Rick 7 years of dedication to get there. Thanks for being a special part of our community Rick!

  2. I've added jump-rope to my exercise regiment.  It was really difficult at first -- I was really huffing and puffing on day 1.  But it's getting a lot easier after about a week.  That's good, right?

Is anyone else doing some new exercises to help stay in good health?

  3. 🥳🎉🍾 Happy Half-Century to our favorite Mayor, @greenween‼️

  4. When I saw the recent homebrew drop at AtariAge this morning my wallet screamed and slid itself under the couch...

  6. Currently playing IS3 on the PSOne. I was a huge fan of the Jaguar games and this takes everything developers Eclipse Software learned on the two earlier titles and cranks it to 11. Like IS2, it's a bit on the hard side but still very enjoyable. IS3 was also on the Nuon.

Any fans of this or the other IS games?

  7. Merry Christmas, all!

I'm kinda ending 2021 the same way I started it -- covid infection. Back in January, my entire family got it, and this was before vaccination. This time, my second son got it again (test confirmed two days ago). The rest of us will get tested next week. I had a mild sore throat and headache yesterday and felt like I was coming down with a cold but it was gone when I woke up today.

First half of 2021 was a very challenging time and gave me a different perspective on life, family, and friends. Looking forward to 2022 and making memories with all of you in the I/O.

  8. I gotta tell you, I'm quite proud of these Christmas cards I made for my nieces.

  9. 🤔 Have you found all the new Badges? More are on the way!!

  10. PSA: The new Atari VCS is on sale at Microcenter for $249. This in-store only promotion nets you the Black Walnut All-In edition. Retailers elsewhere remain at full price ($399).

If you're curious or need a new mini-PC and live near a Microcenter, now could be a good time.

  13. Everybody ready for Thanksgiving?

My sincere hope for peace and happiness for all.  Enjoy your holiday and find some time to play a few games.

  14. I just realized that the building I spent five years of my career in was a stand-in for Caprica in the original Battlestar Galactica. My mind is blown!

Too bad it's being demolished as this is typed.

  15. The Atari VCS version of Centipede Recharged has 10 exclusive Challenges. They are much harder than the first 30 and have some nice references to the classic sprites. I've got one left to clear!

  16. 🥳 Wishing Lance @Video 61 a very happy birthday!

  17. Been playing the new Centipede: Recharged on the Atari VCS for the past few hours. It's actually a cool modern interpretation on the classic. It has an endless arcade mode, 30 unlockable challenges, achievements, and local Co-op. Also, the music is stunning.

It's available on all major console platforms - Xbox, PS4/5, Switch, Steam (PC) - via digital tomorrow.  Based on the VCS version, I'd say it's well worth the $9.99 if you have any of those platforms and are a fan of the original.

  18. I played the new(ish) Centipede arcade game - Centipede Chaos - this past week. It's a ticket redemption game and is quite fun. Anyone else tried it?

  19. So I scored Astal for Sega Saturn a week ago on eBay.  It was advertised in great shape with the case intact.  The seller puts it in a priority mail with no bubble wrap or paper which obviously would allow for jostling during shipment.  Unsurprisingly, another Saturn case is needlessly ruined.  I reached out to the seller explaining the situation and asked for a partial refund of $8 for the case.  This is based on the cost of 10 replacement cases from Limited Run.  Instead of taking any responsibility for the poor packing, he suggested that I open a claim with USPS stating that the item wasn't damaged when he put it in the box!

I have a real problem with opening a claim because it truly is due to a lack of packing and not USPS.  I'd like to keep the game as they are getting harder to come by.  Its really not the money at all its the point of the thing.  I can't imagine sending a good Saturn case out like that.  I know that many of you buy and sell on eBay.  Is a negative or neutral rating warranted?

  21. Well, a cyst in my eye drained and flattened. She hit a blood vessel unfortunately, I have antibiotic and steroid drops for the next few days and then a follow up in a month. 😛

  22. You don't have to have a VCS to check out Antstream Arcade. I know I've mentioned it before but it's a ton of fun with a fantastic selection of games, tournaments and score challenges. I highly recommend it!

Up now, a Robotron 2084 single life challenge!
