These Evercade Lynx collections are fantastic. Aside from the lack of a Comlynx port, the games play flawlessly and look great. The screen is big and bright and they included some real heavy hitters, including California Games, Checkered Flag, Blue Lightning and Chip's Challenge. At a fraction of the cost of a McWill modded Lynx and 25 carts this is great way to experience these games!

Guys, I did it. I GOT A JOB!!!

I got laid off today, the first time in my career. When AT&T merged a bunch of companies (HBO, Turner, etc.) under the former Time Warner corp umbrella into a single entity WarnerMedia, we knew the new company would look to consolidate. It was a bit of a surprise given where I was situated organizationally, but a bunch of us were given pink slips. Because I got rolled up in a broad organizational move, it’s easy not to take this personally, so I’m glad for that. I had seen some friends struggle emotionally before. 
My wife recently got a new job, and she’s still within the new employee benefits enrollment window, so at least I don’t have to worry about getting a new job quickly for health insurance reasons. For the first time, I won’t be the primary coverage member 🙂 Lots of new firsts.
Before folks feel too sorry for me, I am in a good position. First, I am grateful for an extremely stable career experience so far. I’ve experienced my share of company re-org and changes and always landed into a great place. The fact that this is my first involuntary job change is quite the feat in a 23 year career. Second, I’m also grateful that we will be given a nice severance package to ease the transition into the next gig. Third, I’m in an industry that is very robust and still hiring. And lastly and most importantly, God is good, and He is the Shepherd of my life. In Him, I find peace and rest.
I share this news here because I like the I/O community and wanted to open up more on a personal level to foster better relationships. Also, I’ll have more time to spend on the monthly challenge, so you have been warned 🕹🕹🤣🤣

I purchased a Mattel Electronics Battlestar Galactica Space Alert on eBay. It's dirty, but it works! I'm very excited to have it, as this is one I remember so fondly from my childhood. I do need some help, though. There's no way I'm getting that tape off the back without ruining the instructions sticker. Does anyone know where to find a scan of that sticker? My hope is to print it on my inkjet printer and glue it on. Also in need of a 3D printed battery cover if anyone knows a source for those. THANKS!

CollectorVision Phoenix Production Update: We have some bad news and some good news. First the bad: We thought the new revision of the board was ready to go into production. Unfortunately, when we got the samples in we noticed a previously reported issue but one that we had not been able to reproduce. A few of the first production run customers had an issue with the roller controller where the character would unexpectedly warp around the screen. We had previously not been able to reproduce this issue ourselves. When testing the roller controller with the new boards we saw this same issue. We went back and tested the previous production boards and it appeared as well. So it seems it is related to something in the roller controller hardware or power. This is something we need to get fixed before we can run the production boards. This unfortunately is going to push the shipping date back. We are doing all we can to get this fixed as soon as possible, but I don't want to really speculate on a date until production has started as that is when we will have a much better idea of the delivery date. We are still hoping to get it done by first quarter 2021. The good news is that we have a plan to resolve the issue and are currently working on fixing it. Once we have a fix for the new boards, we should be able to make an adapter board that could be used for the first production run to resolve the issue on the old boards. I hate that this is getting pushed back and really wanted to get this shipped before the end of the year, but I don't want to ship it out with this controller issue.
