  1. A PM will work. If not, I'm not sure what the going rate is. $20??
  2. Thanks AF!! I really appreciate it! I'll definitely keep this updated.
  3. That's very cool! My GI Joe phase was long gone by 1990 unfortunately. Thanks again for the gifts!
  4. Thanks for the extra goodies NSG! When was that catalog from? The FANG & APC I remember but not those micro figures. Thanks again! I'm looking forward to my next purchase!
  5. Oh, how about that? See, this is why I love this place. EDITED! Thanks!
  6. Anyone have any experience writing a 30/60/90 day action plan for a potential new job?

Wouldn't it be interesting if we had forum members providing recommendations and helping other forum members land a new dream job in the same way we tend to be so generous around here with our trades, retro junk box, etc..

I'd love to help, but have never written such a plan.

That would be great Prof! No worries NSG & Rows, I never heard of one either, but I was asked to do one. I've got it down and am confident in it, I just was looking for a little extra boost. Thanks!!

  7. Absolutely! This place is great thanks to people like you!
  8. Awesome! I just like filling in holes in my collection. Thank YOU!
  9. I love Double Dribble too. At the time, it was a revolutionary basketball game, compared to the choices we had prior (especially if you only had a 2600 like I did). The dunking cut scene was mind-blowing! The computer is easy to beat, if you can find the sweet spot where you'll never miss a three-pointer.
  10. This is fantastic. Thanks for sharing & thanks HSW for putting these in there!
  11. I just bought Journey: Escape. Now to update my want list... Thanks NSG!
  12. So anxious/nervous for tomorrow! Keep those fingers crossed! (I'll elaborate in the future if all goes well)

      :) It's a long backstory. I'll have to summarize.

:) It was an early step in a process. It went well but I don't want to jinx anything by talking too much. Yet. :) I have homework to do & if that goes well, I'll spill my guts!
  13. What system Jimbronie? I really enjoyed Wolfenstein: TNO
  14. FERG!!!! Just in case you aren't a regular listener, this is a bi-weekly joyride that has rekindled my love for Atari & retro gaming in general. Ferg does a fantastic job and the listener feedback is so, so good. ***Warning*** The Atari 2600 Game by Game podcast is a dangerous gateway podcast. You may soon find yourself discovering many other fine podcasts and never have any time to listen to anything else.
  15. That's exactly what we did but we couldn't pull it off. He's good with network but is like me when it comes to the fun stuff.
  16. Thanks guys! I actually have a modded Xbox. A buddy who is a network engineer, so he knows his way around PCs, tried to help me load a MAME emu on it but he couldn't figure it out. It was a hand-me-down, so all it has is a bunch of XBox games on it & no EMUs. Anyone willing to receive a package from me & load it up with the necessities for a fee?
  17. Thanks Max. Maybe this is a topic for another thread, but what's considered the best platform for emulation? I have a Mac & have OpenEMU, which is okay for consoles (whenever I'm actually able to get my PS3 controller to sync up) but I can't figure out how to get MAME to work on there. I don't have a Wii anymore & it doesn't look like the Dreamcast is going to work for my needs, so I'm guessing the Mac is the best option. I'm going to look into those Dreamcast games. Thanks again Max!!
  18. So I downloaded a bunch more. MAME, Colecovision, Intellivision & Stella. I was only able to get Stella to work, but I'm not a fan. I tried Journey Escape & the sound was all choppy, so I'm guessing there's issues. I'm not sure what I did wrong, as I followed the same steps I did with NESTER.
  19. Add me to the list of people who never knew this existed. I was 13 when I first played the NES in 1986 and my first experience with Sega came with the Genesis in 1991.
  20. All NES, via emulation on my Dreamcast! RBI Baseball 3 Galaxian Tetris
  21. Man, those would have been AMAZING.
  22. My long-term memory is impeccable, at least when it comes to positive memories. My short-term, not so much. I had been kicking around the idea of starting to document some of these positive memories in a journal, especially the random ones that pop in my head out of nowhere. Then I thought, why not wrap those memories up in a retro-themed bow and create a blog here. So that's what I'm going to do! I'll focus on video games, considering the site this is hosted at. But I'll occasionally throw in some other random retro memories from time to time. TV, music, movies, toys, games, etc. I hope that my posts will entertain a few of you. At the very least, they'll be a repository for the day my long-term memory is gone... (That's not a photo of me, but that's pretty much my recollection of falling in love with the 2600 right there)
  23. I really, really appreciate your help with steering me in the proper direction & troubleshooting my issues along the way.
