  1. I had wondered about that device. I had considered it at one time because my systems are all unmodded. I figured if it could capture what a VCR displays then an old game console played through a VCR shouldn't be a problem either.

  3. Love the OG XBOX. A little late but got this for Christmas:
  4. Outdoor antennas are not allowed on the property or I'd already have one. That's why I went with an I door one and prayed. Yep. We live in an apartment that is more like a duplex. If there is an attic I have not found the doggie door to get in it but cheese I'm also not sure if I'm allowed in there. I'm like Rick. I'm Not far from the nearest towers south, but there are trees and mountains between both areas.
  5. This is what I got: https://www.rcaantennas.net/indoor-hd-antenna/?sku=ANT1660E
  6. The antenna is amplified and it's range is 65 miles. I forgot to mention that part. Im not sure how new these windows are but they do have metal screens on them. We can't take them off, property rules unless there's a fire and our south wall has our neighbor's apartment. I don't know if that helps but I'm betting our metal screens may not be helping any.
  7. Hi Guys, Picked up an indoor antenna today but I need assistance from anyone with knowledge. I've tried putting it in a window, above the window as high as I can get it, and can't seem to get a signal. Out area only has 6 stations with the closest one being 35 miles south of us. The instructions say to get it as close to the window as possible. The NoCable website had a tip saying to avoid thick metal. Our windows are made of metal, frame and trim all around. Would that interfere with the antenna picking up a signal? Any suggestions? I'm all ears. Oh...outdoor antennas are not allowed where we live. It's against the property rules where we are at.
  8. Looks nice. I recognized Another World but I know it as Out Of This World. The games look cool. I've never seen an Amiga in person so I have no knowledge about it.
  9. Man. I tried that and died a LOT. Maybe each copy is made differently? Only thing I do know is the enemies in mine shoot everywhere. I would have posted but I never came close to 70,000 let alone my best score I already posted.
  10. Believe it or not, I found new 2600 game in 1988 in the electronics section at Walmart in another town. I believe my mother gave $5 for Star Raiders with the controller. I don't remember what the other games were but I do remember buying that 2600 used for $10 and not long after that finding Star Raiders brand new. Oh! Now I remember! We came home with Berserk, too. I should have held on to that system. I have to admit, and I know I'm getting a little off topic, even then, with an NES and a few games at my disposal, there was a sense of either satisfaction or nostalgic, or both, opening up those 2600 games. I don't even think mom got the car started before I cracked one of those bad boys open. Maybe I already had a love for the 2600 (I don't know how else to put it) then without realizing it? I mean I did have fun with it, discovered Berserk and Enduro on it, tried to figure out ET without instructions, and mom enjoyed Centipede but wasn't crazy about the looks of it. "This game looks terrible!" She would say but she couldn't stop playing it. Combat was there, too, but never got played. I put it in to make sure they all worked and...that was it for Combat.
  11. And the tiny, thin, one peg square pieces were a royal pain to try to separate.
  12. Well, Space Invaders was what influenced me, as Rick said, to bug parents for an Atari. If I had got a 2600 instead of the 5200, and no other games, I would have had to play Combat solo. What fun would that have been? Then I would have had paddles with no game to use them on. I'm not saying Combat is bad, it's actually fun, but considering my situation then, I would not have enjoyed Combat. I would have enjoyed the 2600, however, considering the Activision games. Having the 5200 instead did keep me from experiencing the 2600's true nature but at the same time, in hindsight, owning a 5200 kept a blind eye to the crash that happened. I didn't know about it. All I knew was that 5200 games were all of a sudden becoming hard to find in stores.
  13. A few of the LEGO Diminsions sets for my 360 came with those in orange. It has come in handy...very handy. It only took them how long to make those? That would have saved a lot of sore fingers when I was a kid building with them.
  14. Metroid is a halr puller of a game but I enjoyed every millisecond of it. I never played any GB or GBA installments in the series and I only seen a glimpse of Super Metroid. I would not dig into Metroid again until Metroid Prime on the GameCube. And I still need to dig into Metroid Other M on Wii. So far I've liked what I've played so far. Excellent write up and, yep, Samus surprised all of us Metroid fans. At least the FC version had a save feature on disk. I really need to replace the belt on my FC disk drive so I can play Metroid again.
  15. Yep, cassettes are venerable and can be unreliable. Had plenty of issues with Atari's 1010. Never had hardware issues, just issues with loading my work back into the computer. I eventually learned that not only did the type of tape matter but the brand as well. I had really good luck with TDK and some Sony tapes, low noise, type I tapes. Chrome was a no go, type II was hit and miss. I can't remember the name but I remember the black tapes with a white label and had orange ribbons on it. I know it began with a C but that's all I remember. Those worked pretty good until I couldn't find the any more. Not too long ago I found a really cheap package of tapes at Dollar tree. Nothing fancy, something I would not have used for music, but worked great in the 1010. Can the TI use a standard tape deck or does it have to be a specific dedicated model?
  16. Thank you very much! Was extended BASIC ever built in to any models or is that on cartridge only? I might toy around with my TI later. I wouldn't want to get too involved in programming it until I get a way to save my work.
  17. I couldn't resist, have to ask. What about current Activision?
  18. I wouldn't think the CD mech itself would be a problem to emulate because all CDs are read pretty much the same way. There's not much difference in mechs whether it is the PlayStation, Saturn, or Sega CD add-on...the machine spins a disc and a laser reads what's on it. If you could find a way to get the information on the disc on to a flash card and get a reader to work with the rest of the Jag CD's circuits then it should work. Maybe someday someone will figure it out. I remember the Jag CD I once owned. Weird looking thing, was flacky since new, but the games on it were fun. Especially Baldies. I loved that game. I hope to get another one someday.
  19. Pretty cool setup and welcome to the forums! It amazes me how some of the upgrades for these older systems were the size of a modern desktop. Really huge. I don't think I've had much more than a disk drive or two and the 1010 program recorder for my Atari computers. I've never seen a TI with a lot of upgrades in person before. I've never seen a BASIC manual for the TI either.
