dauber
EPISODE 17 HAS BEEN RELEASED. Jeffrey Lee is a talented artist who is the brains behind Q*Bert. In preparation for the upcoming episode on b*nQ, this crossover episode with Pie Factory Podcast features a talk with Jeff about Q*Bert and other games and works featuring his creativity. NOTE: If you listen to Pie Factory Podcast, this episode is virtually identical to Pie Factory Podcast episode 60, also released this morning. However, The Atari 7800 Homebrew Podcast version also includes contest details, including an additional clue not mentioned before! http://homebrew78.fab4it.com/media/hbh_episode_017.mp3 Edited August 14, 2017 by dauber Sabertooth and TrekMD 2 Quote Supernatural, perhaps...baloney, perhaps not. TrekMD
Well, done listening to b*nQ episode! Another great episode and I actually learned that I have been mispronouncing the game's name all this time. I figured since it was a play on Q*bert that it was pronounced "bon-Q." Now I know to pronounce it "bonk." By the way, when I said on my feedback that the purple characters went the wrong way I did it as play on the original character name. I better start working on my Armor Attack feedback! Quote 🖖 Going to the final frontier, gaming...
dauber
Heh...you're not the only one who pronounced it duosyllabically. Ken actually spelled it phonetically for me last year... BTW, I actually prepped all my notes for the Armor Attack episode, and when I sat down to start recording it, I realized that I was supposed to do the b*nQ episode -- I got the two backwards! So I had to scramble and put together b*nQ at the last second, and I recorded it all in one sitting! Then because of a...disturbing...incident involving a former Gottlieb employee (not going to discuss it publicly -- especially here, because this is too friendly a board for such a disturbing incdent, but it made the local news -- and it was NOT Jeff Lee), I actually had to re-record part of it... But this was the first time I ever recorded an entire episode in one sitting -- usually I record it in bits and pieces before I leave for work and then put it all together when it's done...been a crazy series of episodes! TrekMD
Wow, not only did you have to get it done in one sitting because you got the games mixed up, you also had to make changes because of what happened with the former Gottlieb employee. OK, now you have made me very curious! So, how long do I have to send you the feedback on Armor Attack? Quote 🖖 Going to the final frontier, gaming... dauber
Due to life happening, I haven't even started recording episode 19 yet, so the deadline for Armor Attack II feedback (and for contest entries!) has been pushed to noon CDT tomorrow, September 7. dauber
Time for episode 21, everyone! Another homebrew just recently released by AtariAge! (And of course, another Bob DeCrescenzo instant classic!) Is the game worth it even if you hate clowns? Only Sean knows. (Well...and maybe others who have played it.) dauber
Episode 22 of the podcast is out now, officially, as of about 7:30-ish Central time on Saturday. If the episode showed up for you any earlier and was truncated, please re-download it; something went wonky and for some reason on Friday night about 3 megabytes of it got pushed. (I just hope it was the GOOD 3 megabytes!) Anyway, in episode 22, ex-cukes become purple, a hard rock singer takes on weight, and we throw in a bit of Hallowe’en…because we can. http://homebrew78.fab4it.com/media/hbh_episode022.mp3 Quote Supernatural, perhaps...baloney, perhaps not. Justin
The 7800 is my favorite system and I've really been looking forward to Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest coming out. It's exactly the sort of game the 7800 always needed. I'd love to have good ol' regular Crystal Castles on the Atari 7800. Supposedly it's out there somewhere in some form. I'm about to head out for the day but will be listening to the podcast in the car! dauber
