Popular Post Video 61 Posted July 23, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted July 23, 2017 here is my Atari 5200 Millipede prototype for your enjoyment. Asteroids part number is CX5248 and was planned for release by atari in 1984. this is an official original prototype that came out of atari and is not a reproduction game. atari had planned Millipede for the 2600, 400/800, 5200 and 7800. this was a very nice version of Millipede and was a huge improvement over 2600 Millipede. it looked just like the arcade and with the 5200 trak-ball it played just like it too. 5200 Millipede was ready to ship in 1984 with a lot of other 5200 games but Jack Tramiel took over and put the kibosh on it all. would this have been enough to entice 2600 owners to jump ship to the 5200? enjoy, thanks, lance www.atarisales.com Justin, correagonzalez, Rowsdower70 and 6 others 9 Quote VIDEO 61 & ATARI SALESwww.atarisales.com22735 Congo St. NE, Stacy, MN 55079 651-462-2500
Atari 5200 Guy Posted August 19, 2017 Report Posted August 19, 2017 I remember playing this through emulation and really enjoyed that title screen. The only 5200 title screen I have seen with some animation. Spot on arcade conversion too. Really well done game. Another one of those "why" moments. It is a shame there is not a way to release this and the other games you have show s. Quote
TrekMD Posted August 20, 2017 Report Posted August 20, 2017 I tried a version of this that must have been quite incomplete. The gameplay was slow and things did not work quite right. Quote 🖖 Going to the final frontier, gaming...

Video 61 Posted August 20, 2017 Author Report Posted August 20, 2017 I tried a version of this that must have been quite incomplete. The gameplay was slow and things did not work quite right. this one seems to play well, and look well. the explosion for the DDT is right on. no slowdown at all in the game, or jerkyness. the only problem i am having is that e-prom one copies perfect, i cannot get the second e-prom to copy at all. i will keep trying, otherwise i cannot release the game. so keep your fingers crossed. lance www.atarisales.com Quote VIDEO 61 & ATARI SALESwww.atarisales.com22735 Congo St. NE, Stacy, MN 55079 651-462-2500
TrekMD Posted August 20, 2017 Report Posted August 20, 2017 Yes, there is more more than one version out there. Good to see the one you have plays well. Quote 🖖 Going to the final frontier, gaming...
RickR Posted August 20, 2017 Report Posted August 20, 2017 If it's trak-ball compatible, this would be a killer title for the 5200. 5200 Missile Command and Centipede with trak-ball are must-own games for that system. They take the 5200 up to another level. A level of control that you can't find on any other system. Quote
