  1. FYI - We have an entire forum dedicated to sharing eBay auction listings: https://forums.atari.io/forum/45-ebay-auctions/
  2. I received mine at 2:18 via phone. Nothing on Sirius XM, nothing on Pluto.
  3. @MaximumRD I live in Southwest Florida. I went out today and the sky looked hazy and smoky although there wasn't a smoky aroma. I thought maybe they were having a controlled burn in the Everglades. Nope, apparently it's smoke that has drifted all the way down to South Florida from Canada and affecting our air quality. How is this even possible: https://nbc-2.com/news/environment/2023/10/03/canadian-wildfires-send-smoke-all-the-way-to-sw-florida/
  4. 😎 What's great about the geek spirit is that life never seems to stop us, and they never seem to kill our enthusiasm, our optimism and our hunger to experience the world. We keep our sense of humor, we protect our dignity, we talk to our friends about the experience and then we start again fresh the very next day. - Paul Feig

  5. I would love to see a 4/5 Scale Atari Lynx II with a nice library of Lynx -and Jaguar- games playable on it
  6. Creative idea for a Blog!
  7. bingo. Excellent point. I think it's a good sign that Atari is 1.) aware of this possibility, and 2.) acting on it. Not to mention almost 20 years of Flashbacks and Jakks Pacific joysticks floating around. I think this makes the Eversphere more interesting to navigate and collect for. Suddenly there are cartridges that are out-of-production and will be more difficult to search out.
  8. I'm hoping for: 4/5 Scale Atari XE with full-size keyboard and joystick - and 2 cartridge ports to play Atari 8-Bit Computer cartridges, and Atari 5200 cartridges 4/5 Scale Atari Lynx II with a nice library of Lynx -and Jaguar- games playable on it
  9. I hope Atari has plans for the Lynx. The Atari cartridges are a big part of what draws my interest to Evercade. I understand the situation, it's a shame though for Evercade players.
  10. 🔸R-TYPE for Sega Master System is now LIVE in High Score Squad through Oct 31st!

  11. Capturing your Score is Tricky! Your score is displayed at the end of every stage. Take pics as you go, the score is displayed briefly!

This month we're playing R-TYPE on the Sega Master System! Special thanks to @Atari 5200 Guy for nominating this game! ROM and PDF Instructions are attached below. A note about ROMs in High Score Squad: as the Atari landscape is quickly changing, we won't always be able to attach a ROM file for High Score Squad Challenges in the future. I will always do my best to include the best PDF Instructions available, and a ROM when possible. If you ever have trouble locating a ROM and need one, you can always PM one of us and we can help point you in the right direction. Good luck! R-Type.sms R-Type.pdf
  13. Congratulations RickR! Congratulations to @Marco1019 on another incredible victory! Squad Legend Marco takes the top spot in our Final Standings with an outstanding score of 43,669 points. Incredible! @socrates63 is back in action and hot on Marco's tail, closing out in 2nd with an absolutely stellar 42,042 points! @Atari 5200 Guy fought valiantly for 3rd Place and takes it with 32,804 points. "The Mayor" @greenween comes in with 26,969 points to take 4th, and "The Don" @RickR takes 5th Place in our Final Standings with a cool 18,463 points. Squad Challenge newcomer and VCS Legend @Mockduck scored 15,704 points to take 6th Place on the board. @Mockduck receives an asterisk* next to his name in the Final Standings as he posted his 7800 Centipede score in the Club VCS Recharged Squad Challenge for Centipede: Recharged - but Mockduck posted his score on time and played in good faith, and we want to acknowledge his gamesmanship and be sure his 7800 Centipede score is included with the rest of ours. Welcome to High Score Squad @Mockduck! We also welcome back once again recent Squad Challenge newcomer @Smell Dawg who takes 7th Place with a strong showing of 15,625 points. @TrekMD beams up with 11,370 points, taking 8th Place, and VCS Guru @Sabertooth fought a fierce battle, taking 9th Place with 10,470 points. We had a great Double Feature this month with the Atari 7800 and the VCS! As always I'd like to encourage the legendary @Marco1019 to post his high score on the Scoreboard, and let's make sure this Challenge continues on! Congratulations once again to Marco for his BIG WIN, and I want to thank both @Gianna for nominating this game, as well as @Sabertooth for hosting the other end of this Double Feature in Club VCS! 👉 Be sure to join Club VCS this month to participate in our Recharged Squad Challenges for the new Atari VCS! COMING UP NEXT IN HIGH SCORE SQUAD: Our next Squad Challenge is R-TYPE for the Sega Master System. Be there!
  14. Totally agree. I hope this perceived backlash doesn't discourage Atari from continuing to deliver hardware options compatible with legacy systems. Atari deserves credit for shipping actual products, which is unlikely to happen with Amico.
  15. People need to chill. How great that Atari is making an effort. There are legitimate issues that can be discussed but people need to relax and act like adults.
  16. What's the viscousness over the 2600+ about?
  17. I've tried to shape Atari I/O into something different.
  18. @nosweargamer Thank you for sharing some of your coverage of the Amico In my opinion, you've had the best, most objective coverage of everything that's happened.
  19. My preferred method for playing 2600 games is the 7800. That's my default. I think the best looking 2600 system is the 2600 Jr. My favorite was the Atari 2700, but that's not really an option. The 4-switch is the icon, but the Vader looks so mean. Yet who doesn't like a Heavy Sixer?
  20. That would make sense. Lynx, Jaguar, and even 7800 would've benefited greatly from some good promotions. Giveaways to kids on Double Dare, etc. Imagine going up against Game Boy "oh but we have Lynx on START Cereal this month!"
  21. Of course it's "Kellog's START" or some random cereal nobody's heard of. They couldn't have chosen Frosted Flakes or Fruit Loops or Cap'n Crunch for Atari to promote the Lynx. How many kids were eating "START" back in the day? They probably chose it because it had the same name as the ST Magazine.
  22. Those are great scores, @Mockduck! If you're participating in our 7800 Centipede High Score Squad Challenge you'll want to be sure to post your 7800 score there where everybody else is playing 😀
  23. Failsafe is a terrific continuation of Countermeasure and looks like it would be right at home on the XL or XE Atari 8-Bit Computers. I'm thrilled to see Atari making this game available at a reasonable cost to VCS players. Thanks for another fantastic review @Mockduck
  24. Especially with 2600 games sometimes owning a game for the box art alone is reason enough.
