  1. Saw this video while perusing my YouTube subscriptions and thought it pertained to this thread:
  2. No, just the two NIB games pictured... the rest is 4 years of collecting :-)
  3. Man, now I have the Sanford and Son song stuck in my head! I'm moving, and my wife said no more stuff until after the move, but what the hell... I'm in! I do have a vacation mid-September so I'd like to plan around that if possible.
  4. Meant to keep my Atari text labels, regular labels, and red labels together too, but decided it was too much work... when I reshelve them I'm definitely going to do that though, plus alphabetize so games are easier to find. I almost feel like I need to get a Parker Bros copy of Q*bert as well; whenever I go to play it I can never find it because I forget my current copy is a red label.
  5. Thought I'd share a pic: I have more boxes/boxed stuff; this was my loose stuff and my two NIB games some friends of mine gave me for Xmas last year.
  6. So I played a few missions on level 2 last night... I could have kept going, but it was getting late and I needed to get to bed. Score after first target hit and returned to Britain: Score after hitting second target and returning (lost my bomb sight for this one too): First two missions I ran with 5 bombs and the rest fuel. Staring at the map I thought, why not hit two targets on one mission? So that's what I tried on the third mission with 8 bombs, I put 4 bombs into each target (a factory and an airfield): So my idea kind of worked; you can hit multiple targets, but I think its better if you get more bombs to land on a higher point target. Some other things to note: Go full throttle to get into the air, but then back it down to about 1900 RPM's. You'll still gain altitude fairly well, but you won't guzzle fuel nearly as fast. Going full throttle when there's flak helps you get hit a lot less often. I also tried the juking technique suggested in the manual and it did seem to help a little. I'm going to play more with the bomb to fuel mix to maximize my score. It seems like the more bombs you lay on the target, the more points you get.
  7. Darn good price on the 64 games especially... I have also heard poor reviews about Quest 64, but its gotta be worth 4 bucks. I'd buy it for that.
  8. So I saw this video from "The Immortal" John Hancock: https://youtu.be/GDH4bD8pCJo I really wanted to play The Holy Relics ROM Hack, but alas it's not finished yet. However, in browsing Chris Lincoln's website I found this older hack that he did about 10 years ago. http://optovania.com/dsk/mod_chorus_of_mysteries.html I loaded it on my Everdrive N8 last night, and man I wasn't disappointed! I didn't get past the second boss, but once I get positioning and jump timing down I'm sure I'll knock it out. The graphics and music were great, and after playing this I'm really excited for The Holy Relics to release. Are there any other Castlevania ROM hacks anyone knows about that they've enjoyed or care to share?
  9. Whoever wins gets some Denison's Chili?
  10. Sounds good to me! I've completed a game on game 1 and 2, but nothing past that. I would think starting on Game 2 would be the best, as Game 1 doesn't burn fuel.
  11. You know, I forgot about the Dansien league, that might be the best bet. I was also thinking about doing a formal Scoreboard post, but that seems very permanent for an ongoing competition? My thought was we do a thread, similar to the monthly challenge, then post the result to the Scoreboard. I'm game for the Dansien thing if you are Rick. I think the time difference might be a hurdle (I'm EST), but if we did it on a weekend we could probably make it work.
  12. Just wanted to hear some thoughts on this gem (at least in my opinion!)... I think its the best of the Intellivoice games, and still holds up well today. If I have a decent amount of time to sit down and play Intellivision its a go-to title for me. The voices always crack me up, and I just marvel at how advanced of a video game this was for 1982. That being said, I haven't played it a lot, and I'm still trying to learn the best mix of bombs and fuel, best RPM's and altitude, etc. Anyone have any tips and tricks they want to share? Would anyone be interested in doing this as an informal high score contest at some point as well? I probably won't have time to do this in the immediate future because I'm moving, but after the move I know I would be game for something like this.
  13. This is also my #1 choice for an Atari cab!
  14. Can't argue with your points, but "enjoy" might be too strong of a word... maybe "endure"? :-) Also can't argue with the participation and discussion with this title either; this is one of the more lively high score threads I've seen. Even if a lot of us are giving the game crap, it's not stopping people from participating.
  15. Recorded this on PBS but haven't had a chance to watch it yet: http://www.pbs.org/program/sgt-peppers-musical-revolution/
  16. Think this will do it for me... spent more time frustrated that Pac Sloth wouldn't turn the corner no matter how many times I hit the direction I wanted to go.
  17. Link's Awakening is one of my favorite Zelda games, great pickup!
  18. I actually have to revise this statement now... got ST I-VI on Blu Ray for 15 bucks yesterday!
  19. I got a copy of Civilization IV complete at Goodwill a couple weeks back for 7 bucks, but I'm having difficulty getting it to work on Windows 10. Still a steal, and I'm sure I'll get it working at some point.
  20. Also never gets old hearing "B-17 Balmber" in that robot voice... something about having it on original hardware makes it more special!
  21. Balloon Fight Nintendo Entertainment System Difficulty: Game A High Score: 643,750 August 5th, 2017
  22. I'm going to post this on the Scoreboard as well, but thought I would put it here first: 643,750
  23. They have another one at their other store where I got the driving controllers, boxed Intellivoice with loose copies and overlays of B17, Bomb Squad, and Space Spartans for 25. Almost went for that one but I'm glad I didn't. I've got overlays from my Flashback I can use so I'm set there, and I'm not a boxed collector so that wasn't a big deal. I'm sure I'll snag a copy of Space Spartans at some point for cheap.
