Yo-Yo reacted to Rowsdower70 in What's In Your Collection?
My personal collection is pretty small:
Intellivision II with Intellivoice and System Changer
Retro-bit Retro-Trio
Gameboy (original)
And my Sega Gopher handheld.
This is by design because of my business, of course.
If you wanted my current stock on that, it would be a bit more impressive.

Yo-Yo got a reaction from Arenafoot in Atari Touch Me
Also, I used to confuse Touch Me with TI's Little Professor, they were in the same aisle at Sears.

I totally agree with you on the Retron 5. It does so much and $150 is about what I'd want to pay. Anything more is too painful a pinch for me.
What's the story with game gavel? Did they promote the Retro VGS?
-
Yo-Yo reacted to AlamoAtari in Coleco Chameleon (formerly Retro VGS)
Retron 5 is $140 that is their competitors. They will fail horribly if they don't knock the exclusive content out of the park. I won't by anything off of game gavel after this mess.

That's interesting that one is more orange than the other one. I wonder if they were manufactured in different countries, or if one of these is "the Heavy-Sixer of the Touch-Me's"

Man, I'd really like to learn more about this. I've always been intrigues by the idea of Atari handhelds and the lack thereof. I want to know why so many Atari handhelds were cancelled, and why Touch Me didn't become as known as Simon. Also the name, I wonder who came up with "Touch Me" and who in the marketing department thought that was a good name for a kids game.
-
Yo-Yo reacted to RickR in Atari Touch Me
I was thinking the same. My first one in post #1 is the same "orange". There are slight differences throughout...circuit board, label, plastic thickness all a little different. I'd guess the yellow is newer/cheaper.

Yo-Yo reacted to RickR in ATARI DAY - On the 26th day of each month, show the world how much you love Atari!
YES! And it is SPECTACULAR. You'll look at the Intellivision version with disdain once you try it. Take THAT George Pimple-ton.

Yo-Yo got a reaction from Lost Dragon in What are the real facts behind Pac-Man’s 2600 development?
Cool story. The guys who wrote that book can be excessively pompous to the rest of us though. If you don't know every detail of every story or you don't bow down to kiss the ring.... or say you'd like a refund for something you paid them $200 for in 2010 and never received.... then they talk down to you like you're a meaningless nothing of a person. Whip out an old Atari id badge though and it's a different story.

Yo-Yo got a reaction from Arenafoot in Coleco Chameleon (formerly Retro VGS)
I've never really said this publicly before, for the sake of avoiding unnecessary flattery, but No Swear Gamer is someone I've listened to and held in very high regard for many years. I was really happy to see him take a leading role in this community. I don't know him personally but feel like I know him through his podcasts and probably listen to him as much as anyone else. Phil has always struck me as a very humble, very genuine person. He gives opinions based on fact not hype (in my opinion this is what John Lester / Gamester81 does) and Phil has been very fair in his approach I think. To see him share some of his own trepidations about the Retro VGS make me feel a little bit more at ease with mine. I don't want to unfairly hate on something or be overly critical, yet that's how I felt about myself. Really until just now. To see Phil No Swear Gamer say "This is getting ugly" makes me feel like I'm not alone in thinking the same. And I think that's an ominous sign for Retro VGS. Just my 2c.
