  1. Found many of my favorites like TOM SERVO from Mystery Science Theater 3000. So many popular and less known ROBOTS, posted elsewhere but I had to share this higher resolution version. WHO'S YOUR FAVORITE?
  2. ๐Ÿ˜› Well I will post one more, I tried but I guess not many will put themselves out there or laugh at themselves (THANKS to few who participated), that's cool, I tried and in that same spirit this next post shows I am totally willing to be laughed at. I will leave it at that, this thread can just die off or whatever. ---- BUT FIRST A MESSAGE ----- NO RAT(S) WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS 30+ YEAR OLD IMAGE, THOUGH THEY MAY HAVE ENDURED SOME MOISTURE ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜œ ME back in my teens, yep that is real, my pet RAT JD, if I say he did not bite me on occasion I would be lying, if I said I did not deserve it.....I would also be lying....SIDE NOTE, an old iPhone 4 makes an awesome fast scanner for old photos ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜† Last word, besides silly shenanigans like this they my rats (JD and MARTY, MARTY WAS ALL WHITE) were played with a lot, feed pizza or whatever I was snacking on etc. They were fun. ๐Ÿ˜Ž they fact I could even DO this was due to their, perhaps misplaced TRUST.

  4. It DID occur to me lack of participation may be down to many not having photos / Polaroids in digital format available for posting and no easily accessible scanner to consider doing so and with that in mind just a thought........ These days for the most part one could likely use a tablet or phone camera as these are so common to just take a picture of an original photo or Polaroid, MY image I started with was actually just taken with an older tablet camera of a Polaroid. IF any of you have a photo in mind consider that method, just be wary of reflective light and FOCUS as much as possible, I think you might be surprised how easily this can be done. I am considering doing some more of my own this way ๐Ÿ˜›
  5. Dug this up just now and thought this might make for something different. Post a photo / picture / image that you are in showing something silly, fun, retro etc. I'll kick off with this one - Here's me at 16 getting a promo Polaroid picture before seeing JAWS. Honestly, I love this shot and there is as far as I am concerned only one embarrassing thing about it, IT WAS FOR JAWS 3 ! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™„
  6. Happy Canada Day EH! To all my Canadian brothers and sisters ! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿป

Exactly.ย  It's my thought every time I think about doing another XBOX/PS2/Wii mod or creating a new Raspberry Pi build.ย  The desktop PC version is the easiest way to get your emulation fix.ย

I go back to it every so often, it is a funny reminder that even though I was pretty much a videogame console player that there are some major differences when compared to original arcade versions. I mean pretty much from NES onward (well even before that Colecovision) it felt like having the "arcade" at home but then you load up MAME and suddenly it's like a slap in the face in comparison, especially with a lot of NES ports, or EVEN Sega Genesis you realize damn the arcade game had even bigger sprites and more frenzied action. I mean sure the Arcade game dynamic sometimes would not work as well and was changed to suit a home console but in some cases it was definitely changes due to limitations. I was playing some of the Golden Axe sequels and was surprised how different it felt, sometimes it is just a different color palette but it is definitely nice to go back and experience versions closer to the Arcade.

  13. RIP - ๐Ÿ˜ขcool Canadian Denise Denise Cronenberg. Weโ€™ve learned the sad news this week that Denise Cronenberg, the sister of David Cronenberg, passed away at the age of 81 last month at Joseph Brant Hospital in Ontario, Canada.
Award-winning artist Denise Cronenberg was the costume designer on several of her little brotherโ€™s films beginning with The Fly in 1986. Denise brought her style to most of Davidโ€™s movies in the years that followed, including Dead Ringers, Naked Lunch, M. Butterfly, Crash, eXistenZ, Spider, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, Cosmopolis and Maps to the Stars.
Even prior to The Fly, Denise Cronenberg was credited as โ€œwardrobe traineeโ€ on Videodrome and โ€œwardrobe mistressโ€ on The Dead Zone, both films directed by David Cronenberg.
Cronenbergโ€™s costume design credits also include Bless the Child, Dracula 2000, Dawn of the Dead (2004), Dead Silence, Shoot โ€˜Em Up, The Incredible Hulk and Resident Evil: Afterlife.

  14. I had just made a topic about the trailer when I noticed this thread so I will simply paste my reaction. Happy for actor Alex Winter, nice Keanu remembers the movie that helped launch his career, yes he did other things before but let's face it average person thinks of Bill & Ted. PARTY ON DUDES ! ๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿฅณ
  15. YES it's big and crazy but I loved that about it ๐Ÿ˜† Mine is an original 4-port which I love but I believe it had the mod done to work with those couple games that caused issues if memory serves. It's in great condition, I immediately purchased a BEST ELECTRONICS refurbished controller. Despite all the complaints of the original controller I get it, for certain games though it seems decent, not so much for others. I REALLY need to get around to cleaning my 5200 trakball one day as it did not seem to work great with the little testing I did. I have a Atarimax flashcart (USB type) but I do have several original carts. I think I got a nice full package deal some years back I could not resist, I did purposely choose the original 4 port, my only experience with it back in the day is a friends dad had one but NO ONE WAS ALLOWED TO PLAY IT ๐Ÿ˜› I also have the 2600 adapter, 2 actually, one stock and one that has been modded to work either connected to the 5200 OR as a standalone 2600 console, I really hope to get around to do some up to date videos on it all again someday, here is a couple of my old videos on it: Here I talk about getting a 5200 soon! This was, my god...9 years ago! First hook up and testing of the 5200 and some games ! My nice refurbished 5200 controller unboxing from BEST ELECTRONICS. Atarimax 5200 multicart Testing the ,multicart, refurbished controller and even a PC joystick adapter !
  16. RIP - Kurt Thomas, Champion Gymnast and Star of โ€˜Gymkata,โ€™ Dies at 64. Sad to hear so young, unfortunate cause as well ๐Ÿ˜ž "The worlds of elite gymnastics and cult film have lost one of their greatest stars. International Gymnast Media reports that Kurt Thomas, the world-champion gymnast turned hero of the beloved 1985 movie Gymkata, died on Friday after he suffered a โ€œtear of the basilar artery in the brain stemโ€ and a severe stroke in late May. I think I will always keep 1 VCR, I don't know, I have this worry for some reason I will want to record on it specifically to create something with that VCR effect, though I plan to get rid of most tapes, which seems difficult here for some reason, I don't want to pay and I don't want to end up in landfill, not sure allowed to throw in garbage? Nobody seems to want to accept used recording tapes ๐Ÿ˜œBut anyway, as I was saying, yeah keep one VCR and oddly I have a few multi-packs of UNUSED and SEALED Fuji and Maxwell tapes because they were left downstairs (we have an "area" downstairs where fellow residents just leave things they think others might want) so if I DO want to record something on VHS I have nice unused tapes. I am always torn letting things go but also can never resist items that meet two criteria 1. Free 2. New.ย

I know those feelings so well!

On the pre-recorded tapes, my local library took them to sell in their little store.ย  A thrift store took the sealed blank tapes.ย  And sadly, the tapes with my recordings on them all went in the trash (I did recycle the cardboard sleeves).ย

Funny story:ย  Just yesterday, my son was in a panic because the power cord to his laptop was broken.ย  No problem, I pulled out a shoebox full of power bricks and cords and found an exact match.ย  So it's good to keep some things sometimes, as long as there is room to store them.

Yes! I LOVE that feeling, the SONY VAIO laptop I found, it is ancient and slow but beautiful, the only thing was, no PSU sitting in the electronics bin with it, no problem, I had one that I snagged ages ago, the exact spec model, I was pretty damn happy about that!ย

  21. Just having fun here, ATARI was king back in the day, hell must have been a blast to work there in the early days (we've heard the stories) but commercials like THIS you'd likely never see today ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜† I mean, I LOVE IT but the ending especially did kind of make me go WTF? ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜† Nothing was too insane or out there back in the day, would love to have been a fly on the wall during these marketing pitches! Bless'em, I MISS those days!
  22. It is funny though I do not watch many of my favorite TV shows I grew up with how hearing one of those opening intro themes one is instantly taken back! . A few immediately come to mind, my god within the first note or two I would instantly turn my head towards the TV ๐Ÿ˜† MASH Not often heard but WITH LYRICS ! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ‘ All in the Family Frasier Cheers PLEASE POST YOUR FAVORITES ! PERHAPS SOMETHING LESSER KNOWN THAT YOU LOVED ! ๐Ÿป
