  3. While we were out, driving to the roof of the downtown Parkade across from Melissa's work, just enjoying a bit of the clearing air and some discussion. Video in 2 short parts. @Kelowna Plaza Library Parkade. Note the "SMOKE" we mention are due to the fires across B.C. including near by towns and Washington State, WE ARE IN NO IMMEDIATE DANGER in our city however it has caused alerts regarding air quality etc. Today was the first day in a few weeks where we even experienced some clarity and sunshine, previously the sun appeared as a blazing red ball due to filtering through the smoke. While an improvement, for example when we reach the top the surrounding mountains you see in the background would normally be crystal clear instead of just looking like merely a shaded outline. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfqwAUzVMb4&feature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDJjnrs75Is&feature=youtu.be

  6. Whoops sorry about that, DISREGARD the airport image, those last two images I included were for a relative, I was explaining how I had quite a beard and longer hair that I cut just before the Gulf Island Trip, I forgot to remove those. I will correct that now......
  7. Man I LOVED early attempts at electonics speech. As an aside if I may go slightly off track here, here are two videos I did 8 years ago (forgive the potato resolution) on the INTVII and Intellivoice including B-17 Bomber. I didn't know what I was doing either and what you see here has pretty much remained unchanged in my collection as far as Intellivision goes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2VPh4D-gCE My piss poor attempt at B-17 Bomber @ around the 4 min mark in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ceg5j1-A5I Doh! forgot there was a part 3! lol this was so early on when my videos were restricted to a 10 or 15 min length. OK now back to your regularly scheduled discussion.

  9. Came across this image on Facebook that made me chuckle that I wanted to share with the community and thought starting this thread in OFF TOPIC would be the best way! Just for fun keep it clean and within reasonable taste of course but otherwise if you have come across an image somewhere that made you at least grin or chuckle then this is the thread to post it! OK to kick things off I will start off with - Forget DUNKIRK this is what I REALLY wanna see ! Times yours!
  10. Looks pretty gooooooood https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Po2El_moD_0
  11. Awesome as always Sir Creep You know I just had a silly thought, I wonder if next time I get around to doing a video maybe I should indicate STRONG LANGUAGE ! BUT totally not use any harsh language lol. I wonder if people will keep re-watching trying to figure out what they missed
  12. Yeah it sucks, still what a legacy and right up to the end he LOVED meetings fans and showing them the Godzill "walk" and always seemed cheerful. RESPECT. A icon forever.
  13. RIP - Haruo Nakajima, best known for playing the original Godzilla and many other Showa Kaiju has passed away at the age of 88.
  14. Well it is ATARI labeled after all so I guess that makes it a collectible? Truth is I don't wear hats, not a hat guy, this admittedly sucks as there sure have been a lot of hats / caps etc, I would LIKE to of considered over the years. Anyway I am sure most of you are aware of modern "ATARI" as of late (HINT THEY ARE NOT ATARI SO MUCH AS COPYRIGHT CHASERS LOOKING FOR FUNDING) but that all said maybe as simply a collector piece that would sit on the shelf one might consider the new ATARI SPEAKER HAT lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kgi-3WvX0yg lol
  15. Nice new game to add to my Harmony cart! Final version released for 2600 SCRAMBLE! http://atariage.com/forums/topic/245610-scramble-2600/?p=3367174
  16. Thank you Sir! It has literally been a desert the last couple weeks, hoping this is due to people being out and enjoying the heat! Look forward to sharing more nice discoveries in future. Fingers Crossed ! Myself I have never owned a PS3, they were soooo expensive when they debuted but given the option now I would probably grab one now before a PS4 lol. I Friggin LOVED the PS2 system and library and to me ot was such an advancement in video game tech.
  17. AWESOME RICK! Hahaha well I will check our electronics recycling bin daily no shame but I would be stunned to make such a find! CONGRATS ! It is karma I am sure.
  18. Suspicious Minds - Elvis Presley cover https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu5davwPY8M David Bowie - COVER -"When You Rock And Roll With Me" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7mR4flElGw
  19. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd cover (in a coffee shop) - Puddles Pity Party https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nz_rUHej_qA Crying - Roy Orbison cover - Puddles Pity Party https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NjpILkmrSE
  20. Let me start by saying I am not typically a fan of "covers" and yes I am aware that actually a large majority of hit songs / classics are in fact covers themselves but once they became a hit as the version we think of rarely do I like modernized covers as they are often either mangled beyond recognition OR the person doing the cover attempted not so much a tribute but tried too hard to "Make it their own" and more often then not this is NOT an improvement. Having said that, Mike Geier aka Puddles consistently does amazing versions that I have found a pleasure to listen to as well as being wonderful tributes to the originals imho. First some info - this is taken from the Wikipedia to give you background on Mike Geier aka Puddles Big Mike Geier (born March 12, 1964) is an Atlanta, Georgia based singer, entertainer and leader of the band Kingsized. Puddles Pity Party is a persona created by Geier known for appearing in several viral videos on YouTube since 2013, most notably with Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox. Most of the songs he performs are covers of recent hits. Puddles Pity Party is noted for his distinctive whiteface clown costume, baritone singing voice, depressed persona, not speaking on stage or in interviews, and his unusual height of 6 ft 8 in (2.03 m). Puddles Pity Party performed in Aqua Teen Hunger Force's 2010 tour. In 2011 he regularly appeared in vaudevillian cabaret at Teatro ZinZanni. In 2013, he opened for Eels during their U.S. and European tour. In October 2013, he recorded a cover of Lorde's "Royals" with Postmodern Jukebox on YouTube. As of July 2017 the video has received over 20 million hits. Puddles has collaborated with Bradlee on YouTube several times since. Since 2014 he has toured the world, with concerts in the United States, United Kingdom, Belgium and Australia. Puddles performed on season 12 of America's Got Talent, making it past the audition with 4 yes votes. His September 27, 2014 live performance of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", at the Regency Lodge Ballroom in San Francisco, was filmed by director Gary Yost and was later described by HuffPost as "A Strange Kind Of Beautiful". By July 2017 the video on YouTube had received over 3 million views. OK THAT IS ALL FINE AND DANDY BUT all that matters is the quality of his covers and his amazing voice. Whether you love clowns or have a deadly fear of them Puddles is sure to impress and amaze. I will post some highlights below and let you judge for yourselves, if you do not care for a particular song or genre just select a different video but do yourselves a favor and definitely give some a listen He does fantastic tributes by not screwing up the original songs and doing them justice with his beautiful voice while still managing the give it a "Puddles" twist. Here is a link to his official site http://www.puddlespityparty.com/ Some personal favs - I had been following him for some time before his appearance on America's got Talent so I knew he was going to surprise them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tyr92K218M Now for some more my style He definitely covers some classics that I would be very wary of anyone covering but he pulls them off wonderfully. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3O1XojnTag LOVED THIS and I am a HUGE Bowie fan Even an AMAZING Mash-up I would never of expected he pulls off ! Folsom Prison Blues/Pinball Wizard Shmoosh Up - Johnny Cash - The Who - Puddles Pity Party Same Mash-up Switched around lol Pinball Wizard/Folsom Prison Blues Schmoosh Up - Switcharoo This is so wonderful! The only thing better than Puddles doing a cover of Rainbow Connection ? A cover of Rainbow Connection while joined by Toby Huss aka John Bosworth from Halt and Catch Fire ! I will leave you with a link to his youtube channel videos so you can choose to sort by date or popular etc, peruse on your own time and pick some of your favorite tunes done by Puddles.
