I think that's your best video yet!  I laughed, I cried, I marveled at the production values.....

I've kept one CRT.  A 13 inch beauty with a VCR built in.

Sad to learn but it seems as though he has lived a very successful and overall long life at 89 years of age.

I went to the HoF this past summer. Holy cripes....Pinball Circus!! That thing is a monster! I heard someone offered the owner $150,000 for that thing...and was turned down.

But answering the OP...among my favorites (although I'm not a huge pinball fan): Pinball Circus, Haunted House (Ferg wasn't kidding -- it is REALLY COOL!), Police Force (I played that a lot when I was in college; at one point I had getting the bonus points and extra games with that ramp down to a science!), and the new Batman machine.

Wow!  Looks great.  Reminds me of "Shark Shark" on Intellivision.  Keep us posted on your progress.

Is there a flashcart of something for the Jaguar that lets you run this on real hardware?

I've been kind of here and there on development direction regarding which game I can manage to complete first but this one has the most amount of progress in a very short period of time and is just one of those genre of games that I keep wanting to go back to and work on because it's fun.

Have only spent about 20 hours on it total so far but you can move around, eat some fish, progress through levels with background/music changes, etc. so just a very early limited preview of the work-in-progress:

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Added lasers and sound effects. Still wonky looking but I'm learning!

Added a star field and captured via Fraps for clarity...

Now that I know I can use Rb+ for the other project, I've wanted to dive in with something far less demanding and give a go at doing something that will help me learn how to set everything up properly and will lessen the headache in the future for having to troubleshoot or understand what I'm doing wrong with more complex projects.

I've got about 4 hours into it so far and most of it's rendering graphics and doing the music and toying around with the variables but... I've got a ship in space that flips around at 28 frames of animation with a few space debris rocks with 4 frames each for fun and is completely controllable. It's a start...

A short video clip of it running...

Ultimately I would like to make a modernized Cosmic Ark clone for the Jag, should be simple and fast (but I know it's not going to be lol) and teach me a thing or two. If anyone remembers the 2600 game...

Guys, I just want to stop by and announce that the interest requirement has been met for the New Jaguar Pro-Controllers! Huge win for Jaguar fans, now to get the prototype units in for testing and evaluation! Thanks for everyone who shot an e-mail over to declare interest! =D

Would definitely like to mix it up between stages so hopefully there will be a ton of real enemies outside of bigger fish that eat you like: eel, shark, jellyfish, octopus, and maybe a water dragon...

Hey, Clint, will there be an enemy component to it as well? For instance, you can have sharks in there, too. Just a thought. Thanks.

Appreciate the feedback. Thankfully I have a very fast machine for rendering images and since the resolution is so low on the Jaguar anyways, that certainly helps cut back on required time as well. Hopefully after I fix a few things and add a wave of 25-35 fish per wave, I can have a single level playable preview/demo for everyone to try out after the holidays.

The artwork looks really nice and makes it look like you've put far more than ~20 hours into it.

I have always wondered about the Atari STylus. I have never read of any hands-on accounts of using this device. I would be interested to hear how good the handwriting recognition was and what the decision-making process was in killing the device. I would like to hear more about the inner-workings of later-era Atari Corporation and what their thought process was on products. For example, why did the CD drive for the ST never come out in any numbers? Why was development of the ST to the STe so slow? Why did it seem like there was often such a chronic shortage of machines? I am sure the Atari: Business is War will have a lot of good information in it.

I've always thought that the Jag could have done more with Wolf 3D style raycasted games like this. Looking good! Just wonder if he could get the same frame rate full screen
