Had a great first ball. Rest of them, not so much.

    Almost rolled the score!
Actually I'm kind of happy I didn't. I'm playing on my 3DS and I wasn't looking forward to having to play through viewfinder 😆
About half of my score came from a single ball where I rolled through the bonus lane a ton. Gotta love that nudge!

I finally bought myself one of them, and I cannot believe I waited so long to get one.  It was about time a voice module came out for the 2600 since Odessey and Intellivision both had one. The only system that did not have a voice module was the Colecovision, if I am thinking right, and I remember the game Squish Em had voice in it.

Some iconic themes I remember growing up was Hill Streets Blues and the Twilight Zone, and during the summers when I would veg out in front of the TV was Hogan's Heroes, The Munsters, and Get Smart. if I find videos, I will post them later.

This was probably my favorite theme growing up. I remember running home from school everyday because we got out around 3 and it started at 3:30. it was over a mile to school, but I always made it just in time. Battle of the Planets was on at 3 and during the summer I could catch both here on Channel 11 in Dallas.

What's wrong with the basement?  It sounds like this is a downgrade?
When I was a kid, the basement in our house was the kids domain.  We set up a game room down there, did our homework down there, and visits from friends were always down there.  I always loved it.  Although it was cold, we could make noise, arrange things the way we liked, and generally "own the space".
Run with it (if you can).  Put old sheets over the "stuff" you don't want to see.  Keep the space neat!  Maybe this is a positive thing.
Was it the noise that caused you to get moved?  If yes, make sure you insulate the ceiling so noise doesn't drift up through the floor.

    Hey everyone.
For those of you who didn’t already know: my game room has been ransacked. My mom essentially kicked me out of it. So, my consoles and I are migrating to our unfinished basement, temporarily, I hope. From around 2013 to mid 2018, our games all lived down here until we moved them up to the home office.I worked hard these past few days to try to restore this “old game room” to its former glory. I haven’t moved any consoles down here yet, save for my GBA which has just been keeping me company. I did move a couple of games here, though.
With an unfinished, concrete-covered basement, it can only look so nice. But at least I tried my best. At least it’s a clean basement, which I guess matters more than how chic it is. Hopefully we can move back upstairs soon. For now, though, this is ok. At least we have a rug so our feet don’t get cold and a couch to sit on.
I plan on updating you all on what I do with this temporary gaming space in this thread. Please look forward to it.

Star Wars Arcade and Time Pilot ❤️
When The Sims first came out, I remember buying it for the PC and then lending to a friend who begged for it before I even had a chance to unseal it. Well, that pile-of-dung-who-was-also-my-groomsmen never gave it back nor paid me for it so I could buy another
Suffice to say, I haven't played any version of The Sims to this day 🙂

I have a PS3 and some of the games I love to play and the kids love to play with me are the LEGO series games. Start out with Lego Star Wars as it will give you the feel of how the others games work and add to the controls.

I saw this and started thinking the same thing. Their first response would be that mom never played any games as she hates technology and technology hates her. 🙂
Me, they would probably say the Sims 3 or Sims 4 as I have been trying to complete some challenges on these games and I played them a lot around the holidays because I was on vacation. They might also say Star Wars as I have one of the Arcade1up machines. One other thing they might mention is one of the Arcade Archives on the Switch. I have been playing a lot of Crazy Climber and I am trying to better my score on Time Pilot as I am ranked, right now, number 60 on the Global Scoreboard. I cannot seem to get any higher as I keep getting interrupted playing that long and lose the groove.

Some of the biggest feats for me might seem pretty simple for some. My main ones were beating ET and Raiders Of The Lost Ark on the 2600, rolling the scores on Asteroids and Video Pinball, and getting high enough scores to qualify for Activision patches but never getting a screen shot to send them in. Talking about that, I need to track down the guy on AtariAge who sells reproduction patches so I can see if he has Kaboom, Laser Blast, and the Starmaster ones.

Hey guys and gals. I scored a WORKING PS3 this past weekend. Consoles like this to me are like giving Ray Charles a Ferrari to drive around LOL. Have no idea what to do with such a machine. Never the less, I found it on my neighbors trash pile just as you see it in the images below. Cleaned up nicely and after doing the hair drier trick it works flawlessly. Well it powers on and displays on the TV. Need a controller to move forward and I have one on its way.

Any game recommendations aside from the obvious arcade and classic game compilations? Keep in mind I am not good wit double thumbtacks matched with a million button inputs to do anything in a game. LOL

High scores, speedruns and simply completing some games can be a big deal, but what are some of your greatest in-game feats that you have pulled off. For example, getting a hole-in-one on a golf game, taking no damage against a tough boss or pulling off an insane combo.
Here's one personal example. Recently I sunk the entire pond on Thin Ice for the Intellivision. It may sound easy, but it took a ton of tries to pull off:

Beating SMB1, Super Metroid, Luigi’s Mansion, Super Mario Land and World, etc., were all pretty big for me when I was a wee lad.

I don't recall pulling off any feats worth remembering in all my years of playing video games. Sad, but then again, I've never considered myself much of a gamer skill-wise.
The only thing remotely in-game feat-worthy is something that's not really a feat 😂 I've been playing Halo Reach in Firefight mode (waves and waves of enemies, no story) for about ten years. Earlier this year, I finally up the difficult from Normal to Heroic (Easy --> Normal --> Heroic --> Legendary), and I managed to finish classic firefight mode (set to one round) a couple of months ago. I felt pretty good about that, and it gave me the courage to try Legendary difficulty (that experiment was extremely short-lived).
